Great Luxury Property, Location and Owner

Review Submitted: October 6, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
I was a little scepticle about trusting reviews. Have these been written by the owner or firends of the owner. But having reviewed the villa information and reviews we decided to book for the last week in Sep (2009) and fingers crossed. In our party were 2 couples and 2 toddlers.

Johanna (the owner) was brilliant from start to finish. She was very helpful pre booking giving information. Once we had booked she offered to pick half of our party up from the airport and drop off. on the way back, allowing us as a group to hire a smaller car (would never have got the luggage in a smaller car). She even had the patience to wait over an hour at the airport whilst we sorted out our hire car.

The villa was a 15/20 minute drive from the airport. On arrival at the Villa was a lovely welcome pack including essentials to get us started. Nothing could have prepared us for the outstanding views that you get from the living room and balcony off the living room of the views out to sea, WOW.

The accomodation was immaculate and fitted out to a high standard. The airconditioning was a blessing and no extra charge unlike some villas. On arrival Johanna explained where the local shops are and the closest big supermarket (pass it on the way from the airport). Whilst a car is not neccessary for the resort I would recommend having a car so that you can tour the island and get to the cheap supermarket it is a lot cheaper than the resort supermarkets.

The swimming pool was excellent, feels cold at first but once you are in it was a lovely temperature. A good size for playing and swimming.

The resort itself was quiet but that is what we went for, peace and quiet. The beach was only 10 minutes walk away though having been i was much happier with the excellent facilities at the villa. To get from the villa to the local shops there is a little bit of a hill to walk, but only about 100 - 150 metres in length. But I'm sure you will agree the views from the villa are more than worth it.

The garden area was also great the little girls loved running around on this and hunting out the two resident tortoises. We were worried about how child friendly the villa would be and on the whole we were more than happy.

I feel that even though there were 6 of us we felt we could have had at least another couple staying with us. All in all I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this villa for a relaxing luxery break. I am now not so scepticle ;-)

Wonderful views!

We had a wonderful 2 week holiday at Alhubara in July this year. The house is beautiful and in a lovely location, the views are fantastic. It was a real pleasure to stay here and we did not want to leave! Many hours were spent in the pool, which is lovely and a very good size. The garden is very well kept and a nice size for children to play in, it is also very safe. We would thoroughly recommend this villa to families looking for a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We would certainly book again.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your review. In an effort to bring Villa Alhubara to an even higher standard, we plan to have an outside shower fitted, as well as gates to prevent toddlers from accessing the pool area, by the start of the season next year. We look forward to you staying again.

The web site just doesn't do justice to this lovely property. Inside the house is spacious, clean and the living room upstairs is modern with a fantastic view over the sea. Lots of space and ok for one large or two smaller families. The outside dining areas are great, the pool is gorgeous and the generous garden sets this property apart from others in Binebeca which tend to be on smaller plots.

You can walk to the beach at Binebeca Nou (but why bother with the pool and garden you have here) or catch the road train (which stops nearby) to Punta Prima which has a bigger/better beach. We tended to walk to Binibeca Vell in the evening to eat but it's also only a few mins by car from Mahon (or our favourite, Es Castells).

Johanna couldn't be more helpful, from the welcome basket, to driving us to the supermarket when we arrived and organising us a great deal on car hire for the second half of our holiday.

We'll be coming back

Owner's Response: What a nice review! Thanks! The location of the villa, close to the beach and restaurants, is ideal. The garden with its diverse array of flowers and shrubs is at its best this time of year. I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back very soon.

A little corner of paradise

Review Submitted: October 28, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
We have just returned from a week staying at Villa Alhubara. The house, pool and garden were immaculate, very well cared for and maintained. This is Johanna's home during the winter, so it feels very much like a home rather than a lock-up rental property. Johanna was so kind and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. Our visit was in October and we were surprised at how quiet Binibecca was having previously visited in July a few years ago. However it was very restful and peaceful, and much better without the crowds. The views from the villa's top terrace are nothing short of spectacular, and we sat for hours just reading, sipping wine and enjoying the panoramic vista.
We loved having a choice of not one or two but FOUR eating areas, one inside and the rest outside on the two terraces and in the garden. We are a family of five with two teenage sons and a 10 year old daughter, and we were pleased that there was plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing. Easy access to the supermarkets, beach and main towns, and only 20mins to the airport.
All in all we had a lovely holiday in this villa and would certainly like to return. We will never forget those breathtaking views.

whilst looking for villa's in Menorca there where so many to choose from but having now stayed at this villa i think we must have choose the best.the villa was stunning it was spacious, clean, light and so well equipped there was everything you needed to live as you would at home.all the rooms are modern and well decorated, the views where stunning and unlike some of the other villas you see over their your view is not interrupted by other villas.Jo the owner was absolutely fantastic she could not do enough for you.see arrange the taxi's to get to and from the airport.Jo told you everything you needed to know about the shop's and supermarkets and all other local amenities.the garden and pool where fantastic for my 2 year old son who loved running around playing football on the grass and then cooling off in the pool.and he spent a lot off time looking for the tortoise and when him found him feeding him lettuce. As a family we all felt relaxed and comfortable and came back wishing we could have stopped longer.i would recommend this villa to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday in a outstanding villa.i am looking at booking next years holiday back there as we had such a good time this year

simply this house is excellent a real home from home in a very pituresque setting, we stsyed in august 2008 and simply have not one bad thing to say about the villa. the balcony is great for the evening and the mid day heat, the fishing village has some excellent places to eat and the nearby beach is very nice - the owner Johanna is very nice lady and was very accomadating - the villa was spotlessly clean and the furnishings are very nice. simply there is really nothing to dislike about theis property and its location - Clive and family 2008

A WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY

Review Submitted: August 11, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
The only compliant was the holiday was to short.
The villa was superb with everything just the way we wanted it.
The villa was immaculate . The whole villa was charmingly
decorated and was a pleasure to spend our holiday in.
The pool and the gardens are lovely and the children/adults made the most of both. we are two families = 7 in total and there was more than enough room for all .The pictures of the villa don't really do it justice, The views were breathtaking from both levels . just a short walk from the local bars and restaurant's and an easy drive to any other part of the island.
Joanna (joe) the owner was very helpful and did everything to help us settle in .
In summary we had a two week break that seemed to last for what felt like a month and we all came back to the uk a little sad that it was not longer . i would recommend this villa to any body looking for the perfect property to spend there holidays in.
ps. my daughter ellie has asked if you see james the tortoise in the garden please give him some lettuce or cucumber.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for writing such a complimentary review. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay at our villa. As we live there ourselves during the winter months, it is furnished and equipped more as a "home" than a rental property. You were fabulous guests and we hope you will all be back soon.

Villa Alhubara.

DerekO Yokshire. England
Review Submitted: June 18, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
Visited this property first two weeks of June 2008.It really is as good as stated. If not better. My wife and I took our daughter, son in law, a grandson of three and a baby. Having experienced some poor properties before, and not being able to place a review, I appreciate the chance to be able to say that I would use this property again. It may not be cheap ( that depends on your point of view. I was paying for the family) but you get what you pay for. I don't think the details mention a welcome pack but we did receive one and having arrived late at night this was a real welcome pack.
The property was very clean and the owner very friendly. This property is the owners home in the winter season and is therefore of better quality than most rental properties.
I feel that having a rental car is a definate advantage.
We would certainly return to this villa.
This property was completely rebuilt a few years ago and In my view this is the best property in the area.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your comments, Derek. The greatest compliment an owner can get is when ones' guests leave at the end of their stay rested and happy. Thanks also for looking after the villa so well, you are welcome back any time!
