La Maestranza

We have just returned from La Maestranza after a fabulous week. Weather couldn't have been better for October it felt like August ! The complex is well kept extremeley clean and tidy with three pools catering for all ages, surrounded by lovely gardens. We chose not to hire a car as we drive all the time at home and wanted a complete rest, but this wasn't a problem at all ,Taxis are plentiful and pretty reasonable, the walk down to Puerto Banus is approx 15 mins maybe a bit arduous on the way back up but don't be put off, if you have hired a car all the better. The apartment has absolutely everything you need to make a great home from home for your stay in Spain. It is well kept and comfortable and the owner has thought of all your needs during your stay.We just felt we had relocated to Spain for a while. The surrounding area has lots of lovely restaurants and shops with a supermarket yards up the street, there's nothing more to want.We would definitely recommmend this property to our friends and relatives and hopefully we will be back very soon.

the apartment was exactly what I needed. Having beach towels and hairdryers supplied meant I really could travel light. Everything I required was there and Jo was very helpful and charming.
It's a fantastic base to travel from and settled in a relaxing environment.

I want to say that our stay could not be better,The apartment was very comfortable, clean and decorated gladly, The swimming pool of the urbanization and all his facilities are of great quality.Joanne and her husband are charming and they helped us in everything what we need I wait to return soon, the experience has been very good. We had a great week in November 2008. For a one bedroom apartment it is very spacious with an excellent living/dining room, large bedroom and excellent bathroom. The kitchen was well equiped with a ceramic hob, oven, fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. Sky TV was a bonus as well.
The apartment is located amongst some golf courses and is about 1 km from Peurto Banus. We found sufficent facilities close to the apartment. There is a supemarket next door and there are a number of restaurants nearby some of which do take-away.
We hired a car from the airport which saved us fortune as it is a fairly long transfer from Malaga airport and it enabled us to explore the area.The beach would also be a bit of a drive away although there are pools within the complex.
The apartment is on the first floor and there are a number of steps so anyone with any mobility issues should discuss this with the owners.
All in all I would recommend this apartment to anyone who is prepared to explore the local area, We loved Old Marbella and once you leave the coastal strip the mountains are really spectacular and unspoilt.
I would definitely stay in this apartment again if we are in Andalucia.

Apartment very clean and the welcome pack provided by Jo was fantastic who was always on hand with friendly help and assistance.
The development itself is very quiet so it is ideal for families, especially with small children like ourselves.
Only downside is the amount of stairs both into the development from the street and up to the apartment from ground level - it became a bit annoying to constantly have to lift our double buggy (very heavy) up approx dozen steps.
Aslo, the walk into the main area of Puerto Banus is closer to 25 mins / half an hour rather than 15 minutes indicated.
Other than these minor gripes we had a great holiday and would recommend this apartment to holiday makers.....!

I would just like to say that from La Maestranza to Puerto Banus is 10 to 15 minute walk for a person walking alone. I always say to people that it will take longer if you have a children. Definately longer if pushing a single or double buggy as in your case. If I didnt mention it I apologise.
The apartment is first floor as mentioned and there are steps up to it. There are also about 6 or 7 steps at the entrance to the development. However if you come in by car there is a lift to avoid these entrance steps.
Many people who have stayed with kids have left the prams / buggy in the car so they dont have to carry it up to the apartment each time.
As we live here and meet and greet everyone its extremely important to us that everyone knows what to expect. We are always completely honest with people and give as much information as possible even to the point of sending videos of the apartment.

Our second stay at La Maestranza

This was our second stay and La Maestranza and again Jo had done everything possible to make this holiday a memorable one.
Our little boy Cameron was just about to turn two the following week and Jo had thought of everything from the travel cot to the highchair and even some toys and books for him. The apartment was clean, welcoming and child friendly. The pool area was spotless and it was even heated so we were in everyday, even in March!!
This is our fourth stay in this area, firstly we stayed in Estepona and then in Cala Honda but La Maestranza is the best for us. We could walk to the local supermarket or up to the Cafe/Bar where there is a market once a week. We also walked into Puerto Banus to the Marina which was was a welcome walk.
We always hire a car on holiday and it is a good area for people who would like to see further afield. We always go to Ronda where there are lovely restaurants and the views are amazing. The beach front at Estepona is great for kids with the different swing parks right on the beach.
I would definately recommend this to my friends and family and we cant wait till our next visit to La Maestranza.

This was the first time we have used a private owned apartment. We found it very clean spacious with everything you need. Jo had thought of all the home comforts to make our stay enjoyable. Its n a good location and has 3 pools all of which are clean. We will use the apartment again and recommend to friends and family. Thanks again for a stress free holiday. Darren & Angela
We stayed in an apartment due to our baby girl, Jo thought of everything for her which made life easier for us. The apartment is situated with good shops and restaurants nearby.
