Excellent location for a family holiday

I was a bit suspicious of all the glowing reports of this villa, but it's true. It's a great place to stay - amazing views, air conditioning, nice pool, perfect location and above all marvellous hosts.
The standard rooms are smallish, but spotlessly clean with very effective air conditioning, a powerful shower and safe.
Achladies is a nice resort, just busy enough to have several restaurants and shops, but not heaving with tourists and loud bars. The beach is exceptionally clean, as indeed is the whole of Skiathos - no rubbish, flies and not even any mosquitos that we saw.
If you're the sort of person that needs to moan about something, I suppose the traffic noise might annoy you, but being located so near to a bus stop is great, and it's good to sit on your balcony and watch the world go by (the road is between the villa and the sea).
Skiathos town is bustling, but not in a lager lout sort of way, and there are many beaches to visit around the island, with a very frequent and cheap bus service.
Again, what really makes this place stand out are the hosts, Dounia and Captain and their lovely dogs. I'm missing Tulip already...

Just returned from 10 days of R&R at Villa Appollon and can vouch for every other review we've seen! Dounia and Themistokles (Captain) have created a wonderful place that is welcoming and comfortable and everything we hoped for. There is as much or as little company as anyone could wish for. A real mix of people too - on our first night we met two couples that have been returning there for more than 12 years! We had the added bonus of watching a nest of swallows on our balcony - who in the course of our stay grew and then left the nest - wonderful! The resident pets are so endearing - we will never forget Brutus and Tulip Betty Boo(!!) and the others. The weather/scenery/beaches fulfill every expectation. We were particularly impressed with the cleanliness of all the facilities. Skiathos offers everything necessary for a brilliant holiday. The town is both pretty and picturesque - and as lively as anyone could wish for if that's your desire. Would love to return and very happy to thoroughly recommend Villa Appollon!

This is out 6th stay at the beautiful Villa Apollon with our ' Greek Mum & Dad ‘ so as you can imagine we love this place
I cannot praise Dounia & Captain enough, they look after you as if you are a member of their own family and as people will testify who stay year after year you become part of one big Villa Apollon family.

The views over the bay and the Island of Tsougria are truly wonderful, we have spent many happy hours, drink in hand, chatting and relaxing looking out over the bay.

The food is ‘THE BEST ‘in Skiathos, and I know that is a big statement and we have been to many wonderful restaurants in Skiathos all of which we adore but the food Captain and Dounia prepare is fresh and stunning, fresh fish cooked to order, steaks,the best chicken dish with Captains secret marinade I have ever had tasted, fresh homemade Pizza, Greek salad to die for, delicious Beef Stafaido just to name a few dishes. Nothing is too much trouble, we even asked for champagne and strawberries dipped in chocolate this year and of course it was served up with love and laughter, as always.
They are always improving the apartments with new showers and bathrooms this year.
The staff are brilliant and friendly and the rooms are cleaned every day, even put my shoes tidy in a row!

The Apollon is 5 mins away from the beach at Achaladies, and Bus Stop 9 which gives you access to the many other stunning beaches, we hire a jeep, and it really is recommended to see the other side of the Island where the wilder, quieter beaches are.
Three supermarkets are within 5 mins walk down a steep hill, but they deliver your goods so you don’t have to walk back up the hill with heavy bags

We went to our favourite restaurants this year, Scuna, The Windmill, Marias Pizza, 1901, Asprolithos, all highly recommended.
We also went to Agnadio, on the road to the Monastery with fantastic views, and Amfiliki, book in advance a table at the front, you won’t regret it, and the views are lovely.

Don’t hesitate to go to Skiathos, it truly is a magical Island, and stay at the Villa Apollon it is a very special place which if you are like us it will hold a special place in your heart, it’s addictive !!

It was fabulous! The hosts made the place. If you want a simple,clean, positive experience book this place now. Nothing fancy but everything we had was nice. I loved the crisp white cotton sheets,my view from my balcony, the pool with towels,the bar area with friendly people around. Made you think you were in someone,s house. We were minutes away from a fabulous beach. It was the best vacation I ever had.

Just got back from our second three week stay, in the Apollon, and all I can say is that it was wonderful. The accommodation, the food, the location, and the hospitality, you will have to go a long way to better. Captain and Dounia, you have got it all just right, if you are considering a holiday here, then we suggest you do not hesitate, you will not be dissapointed.
Now all we have to do is wait for our next trip, to the Apollon, it can not come quickly enough!!!!

We have just returned from a two week stay at the Villa Apollon, Achladies, Skiathos and are now a little sad, wishing we were back there.

The location means that all the apartments have a wonderful sea view from the apartment terrace. Not only that but if you choose to dine "in-house" you sit at a table with the same wonderful vista to look at. Talking of dining, the food is plentiful and tasty. The Pizza is the best we have ever tasted, all fresh ingredients and so yummy and the Beef Stifado as well.

The beds are superbly comfortable with a frequent change of linen and towels and the apartments are cleaned every day. Beside the swimming pool you also have top quality sunbeds with clean towels placed on each one daily.

Dounia and Captain are lovely people who make you feel so welcome and are so helpful at all times and they have excellent staff as well. This is a truly wonderful place to stay and I hope we return.

Whilst Villa Apollon maybe 3 star rated it certainly is 5 star for service, hospitality & food.
The hospitality of Dounia & The Captain is second to none, make sure you try the Captains Greek Saland. Property is close to taxi, bus & water taxi, rooms are clean, spacious & well looked after. The views over the Aegean is beautiful to say the least, this was our first visit to Greece & of all our travels through the islands Villa Apollon was a standout.

Well once again a perfect holiday in the company of Dounia and Captain. Everytime you look out at the stunning views of the sea and the mountains something different catches your eye you never tire of it. The rooms are so comfortable and we have noticed improvements every year. The pool area is alway clean and tidy and you have the bonus of the beach towels on every sunbed. Most important is the hosts they do everything they can to make you feel welcome and are there if any mishaps should occur as they say we are here not just for the fun but also to help if you should need it as we did when illness struck. So we would recommend The Villa Apollon as first choice in Skiathios for a relaxing enjoyable holiday
