An undiscovered gem in the French Alpes

Review Submitted: September 30, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Last week seven Dutchmen went on a crazy road trip to Bourg d' Oisans to cycle the Alpes. We stayed in the chalet and had a fantastic time. The chalet is tidy, spacious and well-equipped (full kitchen, wireless internet, board and card games etc.). The scenary is amazing and it is only a 3 minutes walk from the chalet to the centre and 5 minutes to a large groceries store.

The owners even took care of little things like sending us maps in advance but also a complimentary welcome package upon arriving. Definitely we can recommend this chalet for a stay, even if you are not into cycling.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review. We are pleased there was everything you needed in the chalet. Look forward to you all returning one day. Regards Adeana and John.

Cycling with friends in the Alps

The description of the house is accurate, in real it's even better. The property is very clean, the garden is very nice and you have a beautiful view on the mountains.
The showers are very good and we've all slept very well on the beds.
I've had a very good contact with the owner, she helped me very good with all my questions. I recommend a stay in this house for everyone, families and groups of cyclist for sure. Bourg d'Oisans is a very nice place to be, there are a lot of shops, great supermarket and restaurants (La Romanche is very good).
It takes only a few minutes to walk to the centre of the village even as the swimming pole.
Our cycling trips; Lautaret and Galibier, Alpe d'Huez, Col d'Ornon, Sarenne and La Berarde. And with the car to Briancon (65 km) for the Izoard.

We had a beautiful week!!!

The hous was as you read on the brochure.
Space enough we were with 8 persons.
The shops in Bourg dÒisans are nearby, the routes to cycle and walk
are nearby. You can raft in la Grave very good,Via Feratta (that is follow an old escaperoute),and Canyoning nearby.
The house stands in a little park, a beautiful view around you
If you look for a good house you should rent this house.

A lovely and perfect stay!

Review Submitted: August 10, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Half a year ago we were looking for a house for two families (4 adults en 4 children 6-15) nearby the Alpe d'Huez. At that time two men had a dream; to climb the Alpe (again)! During our week the 15 year old daughter cycled along, outstanding. They also climbed the Col d'Ornon and the Galibier. We all visited Deux Alpes and made a long walk. An we were on the river La Rive by canoe. Our visit to restaurant La Romanche was very good, the Colporteur good and the Rive Gauche a lot less. The swimming pool is nice, a ten minutes walk away (with children) and not expensive.
The house was a perfect place to stay, to have the bicycles in the garage. Practical and lots of space, cupboards full with more than we have at our own home. How welcome can you feel?! The things we read in advance, all came true. It was even better than we expected; the owner is so modest. The house was clean, and there were lots of things extra. The contacts with the owner were professional, and more so personal, warm and friendly. If we came to Bourg again, we would very mich like to come back. And if friends would go, we'd surely recommend this beautiful place!!

Perfect place!

I am a bit hesitant to review this place as I would rather keep this secret to myself, but then again everyone deserves the opportunity to visit this beautiful place in the alps and stay in this wonderfull house.

Perfect for families (we were 6 adults and 3 children), and we didnt miss anything (I really cant think of a single thing) during our stay!

the owner was very helpful with questions and sending us info about the house and the region.

Beyond all the normal things we really appreciated the garage for our bikes ( the place is perfect if your into cycling) and the enclosed garden where the kids could play without us needing to worry.

Within 5-10 minutes walk you can reach all of the town, and from the property you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains whereever you are.

All in all we had a wonderful trip and we have allready started talking about coming back!

One of the best trips Ive been on in many years!

Sincerely

Frederik (Denmark)

A stay we wíll never forget!

Review Submitted: July 15, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
In the fall of 2008 we started our search for a house near the Alpe d'Huez. We planned to go there in june 2009 to participate at the Alpe d'HuZes, a big cycling event. Under the motto “Giving up is not an option” my team of 6 people would try climbing the famous Alpe d’Huez 6 or more times (by bicycle) in one day. For this we would get sponsored and all the money we received, goes to the KWF (threatment against cancer). After a short search we found this wonderful place. The contact with the owner was fantastic and she really gave us the feeling of knowing her already for a while. She also was flexible and helped us find solutions for other people who wanted to visit Bourg in this week.
In june we arrived in Bourg in this beautiful, comfortable and cosy house, with enough space for ten adults. With a big garage for our bicycles, the luxury of two bathrooms and a lovely garden. We really enjoyed it and moreover, we enjoyed the sms and the mail with the owner.
For us it is definitly a place to come back. Maybe next year, when we participate again at the Alpe d'Huzes or for a holiday with friends in a lovely environment.
We will remember our stay in this place and with an event like Alpe d'HuZes for ever!

Ski holiday for party of 8.

Marijn Rotterdam, NL
Review Submitted: June 1, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
We enjoyed the stay in the chalet very much. It was perfect for our party of 8. We found it to be well equiped.

We were there on a ski holiday, for which the chalet was well located. Although not right next to the slopes the commuting to Alpe d'Huez was no problem at all.

I would recommend this to anyone for either a summer or winter holiday with family or friends.

Owner's Response: Marijn, thank you for your review and comments in our Guest Book, we look forward to you and your family returning one day. For those who do not wish to drive up and down Alpe d'Huez, there is an excellent bus service which runs regularly from Bourg.

We have had three fantastic weeks here, still here at the moment. The chalet is perfect and has everything you could possibly want. Owners are on the other end of phone or email and respond quickly to any problem.
We are coming back in March and can't wait. Would recommend this chalet to anyone. The beds are so comfortable!
Its great to have internet and English sky to keep up with the soaps!
