Nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances dans la maison bateau grâce à son emplacement exceptionnel mais également à ses propriétaires charmants. Bonjour nature et adieu contraintes du confort moderne. Dépaysement et détente assurés.

We just got married here @ this INCREDIBLE house!

Review Submitted: April 29, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
More than we could have ever asked for! The owners Gabrielle and Peter were unbelievable! Gabrielle was the perfect wedding planner from filing all of our documents right down to leading us to the Marriage Officials, picking the beautiful flowers for us, and incredible catered dinner, arranging for a car @ the airport, and most memorable of all...she took the most incredible wedding photos to capture the beauty and love that made the ceremony so unique and perfect for us! We got married @ sunset on the amazing deck with nothing but water and beauty in the background.
The house is amazing. Absolute paradise! So clean, comfort is everywhere you are and views amazing. I have been all over the Carribean, Gulf Coast, and on many Cruises, but FINALLY found the place we will return as often as we can......That place is here at this house...no question about it. The seclusion and safeness, beauty and peace here is like no other place that I have ever been too. Gabrielle directed us to anywhere we wanted to go and one of those places was a beach that we went to every day. I think we may have seen a handful of people if that and whoever we did see was so friendly and welcoming, otherwise we were all (4 of us) alone on the most picturesque beach with that to-die-for water....just incredible. We didn't need to leave the house at all for amazing views, we saw all kinds of tropical fish and an Eagle Ray swam right up to our wrap around deck to give us a show on the morning of our wedding...actually in the spot that we said our vows! I brought my snorkel equipment, but used it very little because you could see all kinds of colorful fish, anemones, etc. right off the decks and even more under the house!
We chose this house for the secluded location, not wanting to be around crowds and wanting to have a very private ceremony and we got SO much more. As I said, Gabrielle was the perfect wedding planner and it was the most amazing day! I will never be able to thank her and Peter enough for what they gave to us with a "no worries" and "just ask if you need anything" attitude. We will be back again and again. My new husband called it "Paradise" and he was as thrilled and did not want to leave....you won't either!
Hanks Bar was great, too, for our Rehearsal dinner, (though we didn't rehearse anything!) Just had a great time.
We cooked at the house alot and spent the best vacation ever there!
This was a dream honeymoon/wedding...THE BEST!

The best of times

Having read the description of Sunset Point and seen the photos, our expectations were high; all expectations however were met and most were exceeded.
The house is fantastic, the views amazing and the sunsets spectacular. The deck that surrounds the house is just perfect for catching all sorts of exciting fish, sunbathing, waving at passing boats and easing down the steps into the crystal waters of fresh creek

Everything we needed and more was provided by the lovely hosts Peter and Gabrielle for whom it seemed nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much.

We fished with Bonefish Bradley and ate at Katrina's - both fab.

Everyone we met on Andros was friendly, helpful and ready for a conversation. Such a delight

Sunset Point is recommended to you without hesitation

Fresh Creek Fun

The Snorkle Crew Charlotte, NC
Review Submitted: March 26, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
We just returned from a wonderful four night vacation at Sunset Point. The owners were so hospitable and helpful with information on nearby sites, marine life facts, suggestions for restaurants and even chopping open a coconut for our two young children! Upon arrival, the home was very clean and had all the ammentities they had put on the website. It was a perfect place for our family. Both of our children swim, so staying right on top of the water was great. It was like having your own private aquarium at our fingertips for snorkling! There were even bonefish that came close enough to the doc for us to see and try to catch. The water is shallow so it is wonderful for swimming right off the dock. It is a very quiet, secluded area. The closest home is the owners and it was nice they were there in case we needed to make a call or had an emergency. At night, we sat on the dock and gazed up at the stars which were beautiful. The location of this home is very convenient to the airport, town and beaches. I would suggest renting a car so you can explore the island. Our favorite beach was Summerset which is a short drive away-about five minutes. The closet town is also about a five minute drive as well. We loved Hanks Restaurant and at night you can see sharks feeding right off the dock which our children loved. Another favorite of our was Kristinas Cafe. My daughter and I visited the Batik Ambrosia Factory and loved seeing the process of making the beautiful fabrics. We also met the man who designed them all which was a treat. Another fun thing to do is go to Bill's Blue Hole. It is about a twenty minute drive there but worth it. There are several little mom and pop grocery stores with small selections of food, goods, etc...and also a place to buy alcoholic beverages if you chose. Andros is a friendly island and we would recommend this simple island home with spectacular views and sunsets. You can spend your whole time just relaxing at the home or exploring the island. We hope to return one day soon. :)
Our only negative comment would be the running water. We recommend buying bottled water to brush teeth and washing your face. It has a sulpher odor. It is fine for washing dishes, showers and laundry. The owners actally have a big water jug there for your use as well for drinking and such which was nice.

A truly original house in an idyllic location

Dexter and friends Muscat, Oman
Review Submitted: October 31, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2007
Five friends and I shared Sunset Point House for 3 weeks in July.

The house was perfect for us. The rooms are airy and comfortable, and the wooden floors and panelled walls fit well with the natural surroundings - there's always the blue of the creek and the sky framed in the big windows, with their colourful batique curtains blowing in the breeze. Around the house there's always one or other of the balconies in shade, a perfect place to sit and read in an easy chair, or simply dangle toes in the water and watch the marine life that thrives under and around the house itself. On evenings when we weren't out exploring the island, the kitchen-dining area was perfect for hanging out and cooking amazing meals of local fish, crab and conch, staying up talking around the bar or going out onto the starlit deck to light up, with the sound of the water lapping around the pilings beneath our feet. And as for privacy - nothing overlooks this house, so you can really do as you please.

Then there's Andros - a world away from tourist centres like Nassau. Walking along the beach we had mile upon mile of white sand and blue sea completely to ourselves. We hired a truck and had days out up and down the island, finding settlements of painted houses and lively beachside spots for good Bahamian seafood and home cooking, right up to the remoteness of Red Bays with its wood carvers, where the road stops and you look out over the great shallow expanses of the Great Bahama Bank. Another day we hired a boat and motored out to a little cay, had a barbecue and went snorkelling.

Andros people welcomed us wherever we went, warm and friendly and full of humour. Bahamas Independence (10 July) and the North Andros Regatta were incredible parties. Close to the house there are 2 or 3 good night spots right in Fresh Creek - and my favourite - Sammy's bar and fish fry, just 5 minutes further in Calabash Bay.

I finished this holiday relaxed, tanned and above all healthy - with the creek all around us we all ended up swimming and snorkelling miles every day. We also cycled a fair bit, and walked a lot, and some of us did some diving.

I wouldn't recommend this for everyone - you have to love nature and seclusion, enjoy physical pursuits, eating and drinking heartily, and making your own entertainment to really get the most out of it, but I'll certainly be back, and the sooner the better.

Finally - Gabrielle and Peter are perfect hosts, welcoming and considerate.

Beautiful Location

Cymnbe Westerville, Ohio
Review Submitted: August 26, 2008 Date of Stay: December 2007
Our family of 6 (4 children that are teenagers & young adults) spent our Christmas holiday here at this home. The home was wonderful for us. It is very private and the views are spectacular. You really feel like you are almost on a house boat with decks and water all around you. We enjoyed feeding the variety of tropical fish off the docks and saw dolphins and stingrays right from our dock. The owners, Peter and Gabrielle, were wonderful. We really felt like they would do anything to help make our stay enjoyable. Peter brought us fresh fish for dinner one night and they even brought us homemade cinnamon rolls and coconut rolls on Christmas eve as well as shared their Christmas dinner with our family! The home was spotless with nice furnishing and linens. I would highly recommend this place to anyone except those with small children. It is an easy walk from the car over the little bridge so it would even work for older people as well. We also enjoyed several nearby beautiful beaches with white sand and blue water and rarely saw anyone while on some of the beaches! Another enjoyable trip was to one of the blue holes on Andros. Our children enjoyed jumping off the platform into the water. For those who like a quiet get-away without all the noise and glitter of commericial resorts, this is a great place.
Owner's Response: At Sunset Point House on the Water we believe the personal touch is all important. Our guests enjoy their island vacation to the fullest when they feel comfortable, have access to local information, and real Bahamian hospitality. They become more than travellers, they become friends.

And it is always a pleasure to put a smile on the face of friend.
