Fun in the Sun

Review Submitted: February 26, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2008
This was my families' first trip to the Keys. We loved it and we will definitely be back. We did a little bit of everything - relaxing in the pool, fishing, drove to Key West.

The owner seemed to think of every detail including excellent directions from the airport, activity and restaurant options and recommendations.

The house was clean, relaxing and convenient to everything. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Great home in Marathon

Review Submitted: January 30, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2008
My family and I rented Neil's house for a week last July 2008, and had the best time to date on our yearly trips to the Middle Key's. Neil and his family offer the vacationer an immaculate house and property. We have been vacationing in the Key's for years, and this was by far our best experience yet. The house is bright and nicely decorated in unique Key's fashion. The pool is a bit on the small side but for my family of 3 it was absolutly perfect. We didn't get an opportunity to use the hot tub, but believe me it looked very inviting. A gas grill and picnic table on the upstairs deck was the perfect addition for those of us on budgets and those who prefer a home cooked meal. Downstairs has a nice glass table and chairs under the deck out of the sun, with plenty of pool toys, fishing rods and a freezer for your bait, or vodka and ice, which ever you prefer. The area restaurants are fantastic, Make sure you try THe Island Fish Co. Mangrove Mama's in Sugarloaf Key, and the Key's Fishery can't be beat. Upscale dining try the Hideaway Cafe at Rainbow Bend Resort. Sombrero beach is a 5 min. walk away and a great place to spend the day. Fishing off the dock at night was a blast, my son loved it. He also got a kick out of the resident iguanas. Who doesn't love a neon palm tree? Something you must see. Neil is the perfect host who gladly shares his knowledge of the Marathon area with recreation ideas and restaurant recommendations. Neil can also help you with power boat rentals and point you to the best fishing captains in the area. Inside the house was absolutley spotless and the bedrooms are well appointed with very comfortable beds. Satellite TV,cd, and dvd player with WiFi make up the entertainment center. Make sure you wake early to enjoy one of the best sunrises you'll ever experience, anywhere. Right from the master bedroom terrace. If your seriously looking to book a vacation home in Marathon, look no further. This place has it all. Even if I tried I can't come up with a reason to stay anywhere else. Call Neil and book your vacation, you will not be dissapointed.

Great Family Get Away

4 in Cincy Cincinnati
Review Submitted: January 28, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
Our family of four rented this property and throughly enjoyed our vacation. The beach was great for our teenage kids, an easy walk down the street. We took a boat ride to serveral restaurants; my husband and son got in some deep water fishing. The pier took the hassel out of putting our boat in and out every time we wanted to use it. This is a great value for a family vacation. The rooms are nicely furnished, the pool is at your door steps, and there is a girll on the deck for those nights you don't feel like eating out. We have rented this property twice and look forward to our next vacation in the Keys.

Best Vacation Ever!

Review Submitted: January 23, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
We had a fantastic time at this beautiful house. My husband and I and our two grown children had plenty of room - and we didn't have to buy any incidentals like garbage bags or laundry soap!! So nice to not spend the first day in the grocery store!! All the little touches were there and everything was perfectly clean!! The neighborhood is lovely and quiet and you can walk to a beautiful beach with no crowds at all. Marathon is a perfect spot to see the keys - but have somewhere quiet to relax, too! I was worried that the houses were too close together, but with the vegetation - you feel like you are on an island all by yourself. We followed the directions and used the fishing gear and caught fish right from the dock!

Everyone on Marathon is very friendly!

If you love to fish and enjoy the Keys, try this h

I spent a lovely week with my entire family in this home.

The owner supplied us with vast quantities of information related to local eating places, and in town events that were of interest to our family, as well as a detailed map of fishing spots, ocean access points, and on water bait shops/gas.

We docked our boat right there at the house. When we came in from a day on the water, we cleaned our catch right at the private dock, under the lights, and stored the cleaned fish right in the downstairs cooler.
After a day of fishing, we were able to rinse off outside and come in for a nice hot shower. after dinner, we enjoyed the hot tub on the deck; to remove the tight muscles from a day on the boat.

On the days when we didn't fish, we lounged by the pool, and took advantage of the floating lounges to simply float around and soak up a little sun.

The property is located close to the main drag in Marathon. Shopping, boating supplies, gas, and bait are 5 minutes away by car.

We would rent this property again, and think it's a perfect spot for a small family to enjoy some relaxing time in the keys. The owner was friendly and available to answer any questions we had.

We did cursory cleaning of the house, leaving it in the clean conditiin we found when we arrived, and received our full security deposit back immediately.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD

Review Submitted: January 21, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2008
Stayed at Neil's house last March. Dad just found out he was cancer free. Celebrated with a trip to the keys. We had a wonderful stay. House was as nice as the pictures showed. We took advantage of a boat delivery and fished almost every day. Dad had the time of his life. If he wasn't on the boat , he was fishing off the dock.We even got a picture of Granny in the heated pool. Renting from Neil was easy, even called while we were there to make sure everything was good. Ingore the bad review, I would definitely rent this house again

Spring Break 2008

Review Submitted: January 21, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2008
Our family had one of the best vacations ever. We really enjoyed our stay and the accommodations were great. We walked to the beach, rented a car drove all over the keys. Rented a boat and put it on the available dock. Fished off the dock as poles where provided. Went snorkeling/diving and had some great experiences. Local restaurants had great food and not too expensive. My husband and son took a bi-plane ride and just loved it. They highly recommend checking it out. This is a great place for families that like to do all sorts of activities. Pool was great for just sitting around for some down time.

We stayed at this property in March 2008. The house was better than described! We brought 4 kids and rented a boat so the pool and pier were a big hit! We even met a manatee by the pier! Sombrero Beach is a quick walk down the street! Marathon is great it you are looking for a slow paced, relaxing vacation. We can't wait to go back!

Great family vacation home

gingersme Boston, MA
Review Submitted: January 21, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2008
My family and I vacationed here last March for a week and had such a wonderful time. The house itself is very nice, clean and well stocked with all the household essentials. When we arrived the owner was finishing up on some lawn work and gave us some info on the area (including two restaurant recommendations which were both excellent, casual family places were the food and service were great) He then offered to take us out for a ride on his boat through the canals, where we saw two pairs of dolphin that swam right up close to the boat! My daughter's who were 8 and 11 at the time, still say that it was the best vacation ever, and we have been to Disneyworld and several other places in the US. Thanks for a great time! I hope we can find an open week to book again this year!
