hygienically not up to scratch

WANAGOTYA CLEVELAND
Review Submitted: November 14, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
the apartment was in a good location, and it is fair to say it could classed as a luxury apartment, but what let it down was it had not been cleaned through out the apartment to a good standard, it was dusty, the bedding in the second bedroom had an odour we did not like, we had to get bedding changed before we could use the bed, and the bedroon still smelt, the apartment windows were really dirty, you could hardly see out of them, the second bathroom was dirty and grimy and far too small and unhygienic
i could not get in touch with the owner by phone to report a missing dvd player, this was done via the cleaner,,
i would not recomend this property to a friend,,
we were not advised by the owner that the pool service would close half way through our holiday, our kids had to use the sea if they needed a swim,, if we had known the pool would close, we would have gone po an earlier date,,
the towel change on the second week was a farce, the towels were so course or rough they almost cut your face, you could not use them, we ended up using out beach towels
to review the two week holday in the apartment,, hygienically this let it down badly,, and we would not use the apartment again
Owner's Response: we have used the same cleaners for the last 6 years, never a bad review.
under each bed is a complete bed change + pillows
clients have access to these spare sheets at any time

the windows are cleaned every second week by the community if there is rain which happens very often during the night it is beyond our control

we give all clients our phone number and email address(our lines are open 24 hours a day)
no contact from these clients . any issed calls are recorded but there were none

i am very sorry about the pool closeing half way through your holiday the community decide the date the pool closes. I have no control over this , community pools close in the middle of october since the new laws in spain all community pools have to have life guards. Hense the cheaper prices
you can swim in the nice warm seas of torremolinos all year

i will tell the laundry staff to put more softner in the towel wash

we have rented this apt for 3 years ,with many repeat clients ,who were very happy with the apartement

look at our availability,it speaks for it self ,people are enjoying this apartement.and having very good holidays.

Good value for money

Did a last-minute booking of the flat. John, the owner, was excellent, very quick response, no problems at all. Spent a week at the apartment in Oct. 09, 3 adults and 3 children. The apartment has plenty of space for 6, lots of cupboards for clothes, sofa big enough to loaf around on, kitchen well equipped, however, we spent most of our time on the lovely veranda. The apartment was very clean, we were met by the cleaner who even waited as our flight was almost 3 hours delayed! The high light, however, is the big garden area with pool, kids´ pool, minigolf etc. and plenty of sun loungers plus restaurant, all extremely well maintained. You don´t need a car, taxi ride from airport is 20 min. The beach and the long sea promenade is only a stone´s throw away, plenty of restaurants and shops around. Once you find the most direct route you are in the centre of Torremolinos within 10 mins. walk, with lots of shops and a nice Spanish feel. We hired a car for one day to go to Gibraltar, great day out, also took the kids to Selwo Marina (dolphin and sea lion shows). Took the train there, very cheap. Also easy to get into Malaga with museums by train. All in all we had a great holiday, also thanks to having a nice place to stay. The weather was fantastic in Mid-October. The pool did close down during our stay but was open the first 3 days. If it hadn´t closed we would never have gotten the children away on any outings! So thank you John and Lorraine for letting us stay at Playamar.

Excellent accomodation in all ways. This is our 3rd stay here in 2 years and as always the communication with the owners, John and Loraine, prior to coming - and with Teresa, the cleaner, on arrival was of the highest standard. The grounds of the complex are spacious and well maintained. Within 5 minutes walk of the apartment are three supermarkets, numerous restaurants and the sea. A taxi rank is 2 minutes walk away - 5 euros to the bus station or La Colina train station - excellent for Malaga or Fuengerola.

Excellent Apartment

The apartment was great, we were really impressed with how spacious and well maintained it was. We thought the grounds in which the apartment is set were fantastic - we have a young family so the pool and splash pool were perfect- exceptionally clean and well maintained and managed. We also took my disabled 89 year old grandmother who is visually impaired and struggles to walk any distance - the apartment was great - walk in shower, spacious, air con. The grounds were also a great benefit as access was wheelchair friendly and plenty of area to walk around.
Close to supermarket - 5 minutes walk so you can quicly stock up supplies.
I can't think of anything negative to say - we were very impressed.

Best apartment ever!!!

We have stayed in 3 different apartments in this complex and this one was fabulous. It is beautifully furnished and decorated and the owners have thought of just about everything you could possibly need. Air con seems to be far more effective in this apt than others with the addition of ceiling fans in all the bedrooms to keep you cool at night!! There is even a large shopping trolley to facilitate trips to the local supermarket. The beds were already made up, in the past we have been left sheets and had to do it ourselves. Bedlinen and towels were changed weekly so always fresh. The apt is situated on the "quiet side" of the complex so at night there was no noise whatsoever. Again a change from previous apts in this complex.
Lots of nice restaurants within walking distance and the owner has provided a guide book with details and map outlining what is available in the area.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and we liked it so much, we rebooked for next year within 24 hrs of arriving home!!

thankyou thankyou thankyou john and lorraine,we had a fantastic holiday staying in this appartment. We arrived early and there was no problem with us getting in early and leaving our bags while we explored. The appartment was clean and tidy and lorraine even rang us to say hello,i have recommend this appartment and the others that they own as if this is the standard of there properties then i know my friends and family will have a fantastic time.I must also thankyou for your hospitality on letting us stay on till our flight at night due to my daughters injurys in gibralter(be careful of the monkeys they do attack for no reason)and for coming round to make sure we were all ok,i cant understand the other commonts about not having a phone number for the owners as i had 2 for them and 1 for the cleaners just incase and i had these numbers weeks b4 we departed.Your information about the area and places to eat were brill and i think we tried almost everyone.Anyway thanks again for making my daughters 18th birthday special and we will be back in march

Just back from 2 weeks in July staying at the Playamar Apt and we enjoyed it thoroughly .The apt has everything you could want , Sky TV came in handy for our 2 boys , it is very safe enviroment and you avoid the usual hassle in holiday complexes as it it moslty Spanish citizens or private rentals , Pool area's very safe , we had the Kids pool most days to ourselves which my 3 year old enjoyed and didnt have to rush down in the morning to pick our spot . Perhaps a few more English speaking children to amuse my 7 year old but you cant have everything . There is a great selection of bars and restaurants along the Sea- Front , great English Eaterie next door to Chinese and Onkel Willies overlooking the Sea , Tudors ( I think ) , also excellent Pizza Place on the corner as you come out of the complex and head towards beach . We also explored Torremolinas which is a short walk turn right on Sea Front and then get the Lift ( 50 Cents , 200 yards after Burger King ) . Also if you have children Tivoli World is a must , good value and again wasnt too busy , Taxi appox 15 Euro , we also went to Benalmedena Marina that eveing which is great for a relaxing drink early evening . Also next door is the Sol Principe Hotel for eveing entertainment if you wish . Dont be put off by the dominating Tower Blocks in this complex , this is a wonderful apt in well kept spacious gardens close to all amenities and the beach , will return .Mark & Helen

Hello John,

Just a quick email to say thank you for the apartment last week. we
found it
to be excellent & perfect for our needs. hopefully everything is ok
with the
apartment.

take care, God bless

Michael

John,
Just to let you know we had a fabulous time in your really lovely
apartment.
There is nothing I could fault with it, spacious, very clean, well stocked
kitchen and lovely decorated throughout.
Torremolinos was such a surprise. we had always thought of it as an
English drinking place but what a wonderful town, everyone spoke Spanish and
the convenient location of your apartment meant we caught the train to
Malaga on the day it was overcast and walked till we dropped!
We willl definately return and recommend you. Do you have any other
apartments in Spain and my parent.
