Holiday Heaven
Review Submitted: September 11, 2009
Date of Stay: August 2009
This villa was in an ideal location to explore the TRNC. Paul, the owner, gave us lots of information from when we were initially looking at properties right up until our arrival.
We flew into Larnaca & Paul arranged a (v reasonably priced) taxi to meet us at the airport & take us across into the North. Despite initial worries as one of our party had an Indian passport, the border crossing both ways was easy - the taxi driver sorted it all whilst we sat in th air conditioned car.
The villa itself was wonderful, nestled on the hillside, it got a light refreshing breeze. The pictures give an indication of what it's like but in reality it's even brighter & spacious. A/C in all rooms was most welcome in the August heat although we did restrict use to night time only.
The 4 bedrooms were all very well proportioned with plenty of storage for everyone.
Satellite tv had just been installed but we rarely watched it - most evenings, if we stayed in, we sat on the rear terrace and played cards before transferring to the front patio for some star gazing. And wow - what an amazingly clear sky! The children were fascinated by the amount of shooting stars we saw.
The kitchen is spacious & very well appointed with lots of glasses, crockery, cutlery, pans etc. The fridge freezer was a really good size, meaning we could stock up on shopping & there was plenty of room to store it all.
We took advantage of the washing machine to freshen our clothes & in the August heat, they dried within an hour - perfect for travelliing light.
The pool was amazing - a really good size & well maintained. The whole family spent as much time in the pool as out. Plenty of loungers & umbrellas for shade & there was nothing nicer than grabbing a book, pulling a lounger up to the massive jasmine bush & just chilling, with that heavenly scent wafting around you.
Paul did advise us to get a car for the duration of the hols & we'd agree with that. The walk into Dozankoy village is 10 minutes & about 20 minutes to Lemar supermarket. The hill coming back up is a killer in the heat although probably manageable at more temperate times of the year!
Reni, the property manager was most helpful & living just round the corner, you're safe in the knowledge that there's somebody close by if you should run into any problems.
This didn't feel like a holiday rental, more like we'd been invited to stay at a friends house & certainly the best villa we've ever stayed in.
Owner's Response: What a lovely review and the comment about 'staying at a friend's house' was so nice. We are so pleased you enjoyed Sea Pearls and made the most of all it has to offer. Reni (our property manager) was particularly pleased to get a mention. Kind regards
