Perfect ski appartment

We enjoyed a lovely first ski trip to Les Contamines. The apartment was great. Small, but everything you could need including lots of high quality kitchen ware, good shower and, somewhat surprisingly, a truly comfortable sofa bed. It was very cosy and the underfloor heating was a real luxury. The location is perfect, right in the centre of town, (next to a wonderful bakery!) and close to restaurants, shops and the ski shuttle to the slopes (only 5 mins trip). Les Contamines is a small, fairly quiet place with a French village feel, not just a ski resort. It is perfect for couples who want good skiing, some restaurants and bars, but don't need a huge apres-piste scene. The scenery is fantastic and there is a variety of slopes for all abilities. For complete beginners there are nursery slopes scattered along the valley which are valuable as the main pistes can be quite daunting at first. We found the other side of the mountain to the village (reached by gondola and chair lift) much quieter, with even better views.
The owners recommend renting a car, but we didn't arrange it in time, so ended up relying on public transport which was fine. There is coach connection to Geneva airport (one change) and the bus stop is right outside the apartment. There are regular ski shuttles to the slopes, and we also took the bus to nearby St Gervais (20 mins) on two days to try some different slopes. St Gervais links up with the "Evasion" network of pistes which connects all the way to Megeve.
I highly recommend this apartment and this resort.

This has been the second time my partner and I have rented Apartment la Berangere. It is the ideal base for a couple. The reason we came back here was quite simple, it is perfect in every way. It is ideally located, all amenities and shops are within a minutes walk. The bus stop, adjacent to the apartment, has a regular service, always on time, and takes you direct to the gondolas with no fuss. We have visited Les Contamines for the last two years for a skiing trip. We fell in love with the place and the apartment. The dishwasher helps make the holiday dishes less of a chore, the hot power shower helps soothe those aching legs and back after a days skiing and the heated floor mean no more cold feet after a chilly walk outside.
The facilities are great, the ski locker is easy to get to and plenty big enough. The communal laundry equipment is clean and well looked after. The apartment owners are very friendly and always reply promptly to emails.
This is a property I will be returning to for many years to come.

Ideal spot for a couple

Well, where do you start! This was a weekend break away from our children and the hectic stresses of Christmas etc.
Arrived in Geneva (approx one hour drive) to Les Contamines. Directions were perfect - did not get lost once!
Parking is literally over the road from the apartment and is free (unlike Megeve!) The location is more than perfect with a bakers next door, butchers over the road and a supermarket a stones throw! Not to mention a good bar, pizza takeaway and very good restaurants all within walking distance. We would recommend a car though for the area.
The apartment was spotless with up to date utensils and decor was very tasteful. There is an abundance of dvd's and games - no need to pack the cards or scrabble.
The sofa bed was extremely comfortable - we stayed 4 nights and had a decent nights sleep every night. The area is quiet as to was the whole apartment block.
The ski area was brilliant with excellent mountain restaurants. Definitely will stay again at this apartment and cover more of the ski area... Chamonix took us no more than half an hour to drive to; Les Contamines to me is a much much nicer place to stay.
Would recommend this aparment to any couple - no question at all.

This is an excellent appartment for a couple. It is extremely clean and tidy and has everything that you need (even tea and coffee!). It is warm and cosy and has lovely underfloor heating. We really didn't need anything more. The location is perfect - in the middle of town and next to a very friendly rental shop. Parking is opposite and a bakery next door. The owners have been friendly and helpful throughout our stay and I wouldn't think twice about coming here again.
Contamines is like they say 'a gem'. The people are so friendly and we couldn't find fault in the week that we spent there. Thank you

A really enjoyable getaway

We really enjoyed our week at Les Contamines. This appartment is perfect for couples who love their walking! With routes up both sides of the valley and round in to the next, there was plenty to keep us occupied. We particularly recommend the swimming lake which is a short walk along the Tour de Mont Blanc path.
The appartment's mini kitchen came fully equipped and was perfect for self catering. We couldnt have asked for a better location - right in the centre, oppositte the village square.

Studio at Les Contamines

This studio is ideal for spending a week or 10 days in Les Contamines, where there are many hiking trails and outdoor activities (we stayed at the studio in the summer). It is modern, clean and well located in the village centre. The owners are friendly and helpful. We would recommend couples to stay here.
