A lovely home away from home

We truly enjoyed our week in this well appointed studio apartment. The description on the website is accurate and the property is clean and well maintained. Jenny and Nicola were great hosts, they made us feel welcome and comfortable. They were available to answer our questions and help us out when we needed it. We were able to use the apartment as home base for our day trips by train (the train station was a 10 -15 minutes walk away) to Venice, Bologna, Florence, and San Marino as well as seeing what Ferrara had to offer. Would definitely recommend this rental to others.

Fabulous Ferrara

Review Submitted: September 18, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Our 2-week stay in this light and airy studio apartment in central Ferrara was a delight and proved the ideal location for exploring this quiet, friendly city. We loved it! Small enough to explore on foot or on bike, but large enough to reward closer inspection, Ferrara's relaxed pace enabled us to slow down and savour the ambience.
Jenny and Nicola’s warm welcome set the tone for the duration of our stay: nothing was too much trouble; useful information or advice was available when needed, but they never intruded and we never felt we were trespassing on their time or space. The studio was clean, modern and comfortable, with excellent facilities, and provided everything we needed for our stay. Ferrara is a very easy city to explore, either on foot or on bike, and its location on the main line between the main tourist centres makes exploring further afield so easy. The railway station is a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment and we found the train service very frequent and reliable, so we visited Bologna, Venice and Verona, as well as the smaller towns around Ferrara. Verona was a revelation, having never visited before. However, the best part of the holiday was getting out and about on bikes provided free by Jenny and Nicola. This enabled us to explore the city walls, parks and surrounding area, stopping whenever something caught our interest, eg the old Hebrew cemetry, or riding out to the Po - which really tested our stamina. Very highly recommended.

Memorable stay

The flat and Ferrara itself something of a hidden jewel. The property is spotless and tasteful, while being highly practical. The owners were extremely welcoming and Ferrara itself was an eye-opener with the Renaissance just round the corner.
The flat was a few floors up so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues, otherwise we would recommend without reservation.

Wonderful stay in typical ferrarese apartment.

I love staying in this apartment. A real Ferarese experience. Very nicely located in typical ferrarese street, the apartment is spacious, very clean, has a washingmachine and all kitchen equipment, Italian espresso pot, microwave, balcony, sun in the morning, beautiful view on a courtyard. the atmosphere is very nice, and I felt very at home. Books, bicycle and walking maps, magazines, and other information about Ferrara is in the apartment.

What makes the stay especially nice are the friendly owners. They gave me each time a very warm welcome. They helped me with my luggage, and even brought a friend who was visiting me to the trainstation. They borrowed me their bike, and gave clear desciption of the use of the appartment.

No wireless internet, but right outside the door and downstairs is a signal. There is no telephone.

Ferrara may not come instantly to mind when planning an Italian holiday but it has much to recommend it, as does this apartment.
The apartment has all that you could need to make an enjoyable holiday and the owners could not have been more friendly or helpful. They went out of their way to look after me and I particularly appreciated being collected from and returned to the station.
There are a lot of places to visit within the city (and the apartment is an easy walk from all the main attractions) but it is also a convenient centre for visiting nearby tourist "musts" such as Padua and Ravenna.
I have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone looking for simple, clean, well equipped and very reasonably priced acommodation.
I'd return at any time.

Owner's Response: It's always a pleasure to help our guests feel at home and enjoy their visit to our historic town.

Kiwis in Ferrara

Review Submitted: May 22, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
The apartment was exactly as we viewed on the web and understood from correspondence with Jenny.

Jenny and Nicola were most hospitable and their support added immensly to our stay and understanding of Ferrera and the Po delta.

The bicycles were an added bonus for getting a feel for this ancient and culturally-rich city.

We were very pleased that we had chosen Ferrara as our Italian segment. Yes, we would warmly recommend the site to friends and discerning travellers.

Owner's Response: We are happy that our renters enjoy both staying in our studio flat and visiting our historical town and surrounding country side. Many guests have also found it an ideal base for visiting other beautiful towns and places of interest in the vicinity. We also enjoy making new friends and meeting new people.
Thank you, J & N.
