Absolutely Fabulous

Four of us have just returned from 7 days holiday in this gorgeous apartment. It is quite stunning and the view over Cardiff Bay while you sit sipping delicious cold wine (from the wine cooler) on the balcony is perfect. The apartment was spotless and has everything you could possibly need -powerful showers, endless hot water, dishwasher, washing machine, TV, DVD, radios......
The surrounding environs provide endless activities and we (4 adults) filled 7 days without any problem. It takes less than 2 minutes to walk to the mind boggling array of restaurants and bars - suggest Damiros for Pimms and champagne and delish pizza and steak. It takes 3 mins to walk to the magnificent theatre, the new Welsh parliament, to book speed boat trips, to jump on the water bus for Cardiff city centre. The open top bus stops 100m from the apartment and drops off at the Millenium Stadium (great tour) and the Castle (also well worth a visit). We had lazy mornings relaxing in the apartment people watching from the balcony and it was SO RELAXING, we ate lunch somewhere diferent every day (avoid Terra Nova - ghastly), were busy all afternoon then came back to the lovely apartment to change, chill, have a glass of wine and then hit The Bay. Don't hesitate to book this apartment. Cardiff Bay has loads to offer and it is such a fab place to stay. Enjoy!

Modern, clean and well-located apartment

I'd certainly recommend this nicely designed flat (apartment). There is secure ground-floor parking with indoor access to the stairwell and lift (elevator). It is very well located, with stunning views over the harbour from the lounge and master bedroom. It is only a few yards from a very good curry house, and there are many other pubs, clubs and restaurants in the neighbouring leisure complex. There is also a Tesco Express a couple of blocks away. The flat is within a short cab ride of the Millennium Stadium, the train station, the city centre pedestrian shopping precinct, the castle, and the pubs and clubs of St Mary's Street.

The flat is well stocked up with cooking equipment, and, unusually for self-catering accommodation, basic cooking ingredients such as oil, spices, flour, butter etc etc, such that you only need to shop for the main ingredients of your meals that you are likely to actually use during your stay.

Just three points for the owner to improve on - there are only three stools at the breakfast bar (and no alternative dining table) despite the fact that the accommodation is clearly intended for up to four guests. The second (bunk) bedroom, whilst much smaller than the master, is perfectly functional, except for the bizarre fact that there are no blinds or curtains (drapes) over the windows, meaning that the sunlight wakes you from 5am in the summer months. Lastly, the instructions for leaving various appliances on or off are overly proscriptive - I want to relax when I am on holiday, not be worrying about whether I'll forget to leave the dishwasher unplugged when I leave!

But overall, a lovely flat, and good value for money - well done!

Smart, quality decor, well maintained 3rd floor apartment (talking lift) with excellent showers and free wifi internet. Right in the heart of cardiff bay; stroll to millenium centre, literally trip over restaurants and a tesco express. Runners can do a 7km loop right around the bay. Secure but very tight parking bay, do not bring a big vehicle.

Cardiff Bay August 2009

Review Submitted: October 29, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We, a family of three, spent a week in this fantastic apartment in August. The location is excellent, situated in Cardiff Bay and with very easy access to Cardiff City Centre either by train (4 minutes journey time) or by the harbour boats taking you across the bay and up the river. Both of these journeys are recommended but make sure you leave plenty of the time for the boat as the queues can get long on this popular route.

There are lots of restaurants in the Bay so you have a great choice but keep your eye out for meal deals as this can make a big difference to your budget! You can easily walk around the bay to Penarth and on a clear day have great views across the Bristol Channel.

The apartment itself is super and everything is of a high standard. The main bedroom is massive, very comfortable with chairs to lounge in and the ensuite bathroom is excellent with a great shower. The second bedroom is quite small with large bunk beds but could really benefit from curtains on the narrow windows – holidays are not about waking up early due to the light streaming in! The main bathroom is excellent with a large bath. It was great also to have the balcony to sit with a coffee or a book or just watch the world go by below.

The on site parking is invaluable and secure but beware if you have a large car as the spaces are very tight. There was only one set of ‘house’ keys available which didn’t allow us the freedom to split up and do our own thing but this is only a small gripe.

Overall this is a super apartment in a super location.

We spent a few wonderfully relaxing days in Katys apartment in August this was a repeat visit for us as we visit friends in the area. The apartment is wonderfully maintained and a truely special place to spend some time whatever the reason. We tend to rent apartments whenever we travel and this is by far our favourite. We love the fact that all of Cariff is easily accessible without using the car once in that garage it stays there. We have eaten at quite a few of the local restaurants but the Spice Merchant on the corner is one of our favourites. If you are not impressed with the apartment and location you are very hard to please.

This apartment was accurately described regarding layout location and facilities and was clean and very well maintained. My dealings with the owner were well carried out and would recommend this apartment. We attended the Speedway Grand Prix at the Millenium Stadium and various resturants a walk away from the apartment

Everything, down to the last detail was perfect with this property. It made working in Cardiff, for six weeks, the most enjoyable experience it could have been.
Very approachable and reliable landlords made it easy to relax with a sense of knowing that they were on top of everything.
Waking up to the beautiful views across the bay and sitting out on the balcony for breakfast made me want to call in sick and sit there all day!
Congratulaions to everyone involved in making this uique property/experience the best ever.

Our family of four had a very pleasant stay at this apartment in December. It was exactly as described; clean, well equiped, with a spacious master bedroom. The location was perfect - right on Mermaid Quay with great restaurants and access to all that Cardiff Bay has to offer. A good wireless internet system was important to us as we had lap top computers - we were very happy with this. Also a very helpful feature was the book provided by the owner with instructions on such things as internet access, heating & electrical system. All switches were numbered making this very easy to follow. We were there 8 days so appreciated that there were cleaning supplies and a vacuum cleaner. We would certainly recommend this apartment.

We ventured to Cardiff for a weekend in November and were very pleased with the Cardiff Bay apartment. It is modern, spacious and has nice views over Cardiff Bay. The location is very close to the restaurants and bars in and around Cardiff Bay, and is only a taxi ride away from the city centre, making it a great location to explore the whole city. The apartment also felt very secure, which was perfect for our party (4 girls).
