Maro Club Apartment

Review Submitted: May 10, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
Have just returned from a weeks holiday at Maro Club. Apartment is perfectly situated in the sleepy village with excellent access to Nerja and the beautiful Costa Del Sol countryside. The complex is private, has a lovely pool and is very well maintained. Our apartment provided everything we needed for a relaxing holiday.

Wery comfortable aparment with everything a family with small children may need. Nicely furnished and in very good condition (not mentioning flowers everywhere in the yard and near the pool). All in ground floor and very safe for babies or toddlers. Big pool right behind the door, so elder kids may take a splash first thing in the morning. Situated in a small, quite and beatiful village of Maro, with all the great countryside and mountains at hand for exploring. A lot of opportunities for those renting a car.

Sue and I have just returned from 2 weeks here. The apartment is fantastic in every way, certainly the best we have ever stayed in. Location is great, we came for rest and relaxation and was every thing we wanted and could have hoped for. The village is quiet and very freindly but easy access to Nerja and the surrounding area makes it a perfect base for walking sightseeing etc. We will certainly be returning, for longer next time.

This holiday is better than the advert. We arrived for the first week of June 2009 and were met by John----- no we weren't wearing carnations! Our fears that it might have rowdy elements were unfounded because it was a haven of peace. The pool was quiet and the locked gate to the complex gave a sense of security. Scenery and restaurants were agreeable. The walk back up from the beach was a bit steep so we hitched a lift from a local farmer, my husband managing to convey with not a word of Spanish that my heart was tired.
We had a day out to Frigiliana( recommended) using only public transport, but mostly we swam and painted(I'm in to acrylics).Unfortunately my husband ate part of the 'still life' for lunch! Neighbours were helpful and we witnessed a Norwegian wedding. There are sunhats available for only a few euros at the first store. All our food was bought in Maro. The fabulous Nerja Caves are very near for those who haven't seen them yet.

Maro Club Apartment

My husband and I stayed here in late Sept '08 with our 2 year old daughter and my mother. The apartment is located within a small, secure, quiet complex and the pool is only a few steps from the front door. There is patio area with table, chairs and sum loungers. The neighbours were friendly and helpful. The apartment is tastefully decorated and was immaculately clean. The owners supplied bedding, towels and a few basic items on arrival. It also had all the facilities you could want especially with a small child - reliable hot water, bath, a proper cot in a small seperate room off the bedroom, high chair, TV (incl. CBeebies!)/DVD and lockable iron gate on the front door allowing the front to be left open safe in the knowledge that our child couldn't wander out of the apartment. There is a view of the sea from the apartment. The village of Maro is quiet with a few little stores and cafe's but only approx. 3km from Nerja and very close to places to visit like Nerja Caves (5 mins), the picturesque village of Frigliana (20 mins) and further afield the town of Granada with The Alahmbra and a fantastic Science Park for children of all ages. It was an easy (1 hour) drive along the motorway from Malaga Airport.

A lovely apartment with everything you need on your doorstep. A peaceful, quiet complex that provides privacy but which also has a lovely community feel, with some fantastic (and very helpful) neighbours. The apartment offers an amazing view of the sea from the patio and lounge, which itslef is only 10 shorts steps to a brilliantly maintained pool. Maro and Nerja provide all the entertainment you need, with lovely beaches and restaurants.

Review of Maro Club

My boyfriend and I are in our twenties and wanted a quiet week by the sea before heading off to Granada. Maro was absolutely perfect for this and the apartment was too. It has excellent facilities such as a washing machine and an amazing outside shared pool that we had to ourselves most of time and has a wonderful view of the sea. Jim was very helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend this apartment. It's the perfect location from which to explore the neighbouring beaches and coves. Its just outside Nerja, a major resort, which suited us as we wanted to be in a quieter location but know that if we needed to go into Nerja, it was only round the corner. Jim and Jenny had left a lot of helpful leaflets and info in the apartment for us to read which meant we were able to plan trips (by hire-car) to villages such as Frigliana and Competa in the mountains. If anyone was going to holiday on the Costa del Sol, we would highly recommend staying here. Maro is peaceful and there several inexpensive local restaurants serving excellent local cuisine. Overall, a great holiday, excellent location and a very comfortable and clean apartment with all the comforts of home (sky tv, electric hobs, 24hr hot water, comfy couches, electric fans). The best thing was having a large patio window leading out to the beautiful pool. Cheers Jim and Jenny.

Review Submitted: May 15, 2008 Date of Stay: March 2008
We had a great week in early March , great spot, quite location. Apartment has all you need for any enjoyable break. Apartment was as described and claena and well maintained. Jenny was very helpful and made our stay trouble free. If you are into hill walking lots of fantastic walks and scenary not far away. Maro has basic shops and simple restaurants, but Nerja is only a short cheap taxi or car drive away offering shops and restaurants. We would certainly recommend.
