Something special - Villa Julio, Trogir, Croatia

From the moment we were welcomed at the gate to the villa till our hosts bid us farewell, we enjoyed the most wonderful holiday in this stunning part of Dalmatia.
Set on the hillside, amongst olive groves, with a panoramic view of the sea, nearby historic Trogir and Split in the distance and the mountains providing a permanent backdrop, Villa Julio is immaculately looked after by Julio and his son Josip. They take the greatest pride in ensuring that the facilities, from the pristine pool with jacuzzi, outdoor gymnasium, tournament standard tennis court to the outdoor bbq and showers are maintained to the highest standards. We are not the easiest family to please on holiday, having different tastes and interests, but this catered for us all.
It is possible to spend the most relaxing day at the villa, sunbathing, reading under a parasol, waddling up to the local supermarket and preparing really delicious lunches and dinners with frsh local produce. The fish is the best we've ever tasted.
Or perhaps you'd prefer to explore. In which case the Krka National Park, the impressive Roman ruins at Salona, near Split and , of course, the Diocletian Palace in Split itself are all under an hour away.
Down on the seafront, you can dive into the clearest blue sea imaginable or, for the more adventurous the whole range of water sports were a 5 minute walk away.
We can't wait to go back!
