A memorable week!

Sterry Hampshire, UK
Review Submitted: June 28, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
The villa was very clean and well-equipped. We had a most relaxing and enjoyable stay, with everything we needed to enjoy an amazing week with our families and friends in the run up to our wedding day. Everyone loved the views and serenity and we spent many good times around the pool and the barbeque, with fantastic weather. We cannot recommend the restaurant Riad Cabrera enough - we held our wedding reception there and Fatima and her team were outstanding!
Owner's Response: Delighted the week at Los Arcos was so special. We can endorse the comments about Riad Cabrera restaurant.

Excellent communication with the owners initially who sent additional pictures.
Definately need a car for the duration. Several steps to get into the property so not suitable for disabled or infirm.
This villa has everything you need for a quiet relaxing holiday. Amazing views which cannot be described. Beautiful air conditioned rooms. Well maintained pool although not suitable for young children. Everything you need is provided and more.
Village of Turre nearby has several eating places. English/Spanish/Chinese/Indian. whatever you would like. Mojacar Pueblo has some lovely little shops as has Mojacar Playa. Carboneras a bit disappointing but spectacular drive. If you don't mind heights head further up the mountain (remember your camera)
You will not find a more spectacular setting. Fantastic!
Owner's Response: We thank you for this excellent, constructive review. However, the comments about the swimming pool "not being safe for young children" probably requires clarification. We believe all pools are as safe as the supervision the parents/guardians provide. To this end, we even stipulate this in our Booking Conditions.
We agree the villa is not suitable for wheelchair use and this is specifically mentioned in the Property Description.

Beautiful villa in scenic peaceful location

Review Submitted: August 31, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
The villa was spacious and well equipped with a courtyard on two levels containing the pool, barbeque and shaded seating. The guest bedrooms were in the courtyard.
The main bedroom dining room and sitting room had amazing views onto mountains in front of the house. All these rooms let onto a long terrace with seating at a table.
The house and pool were clean and well maintained. A neighbour called duirng the week to maintain the pool.

The villa is in a small english speaking village with two restaurants and a bar. We particularly liked the Riad Morrocan restaurant within walking distance. The food and service were great. We sat outside on a big open terrace with lovely mountain views.

We travelled along the coast to a quiet bay with crashing waves.
Mojacar village is nearby it is built onto a hill and has tiny winding streets we enjoyed exploring. When we visited there was a fiesta in the village which was atmospehric.
Almeria is within an hour's drive and includes a Moorish palace - the Alcazabar. Granada and Cordoba are also reacheable.

Good supermarkets were within a short drive. Many of the local mountain roads are narrow and winding and need care.

I'd strongly recommend the house it was comfortable and had plenty to keep children happy. Plus there was lots to visit in the area.

The ultimate relaxation villa

Our 4th visit to Cabrera (this time with with sister and young at heart mum) will remain in our memories for ever as Los Arcos surpassed anything we had experienced in our 3 yearly return cycle! Utter tranquility, superb panoramic mountain vistas and a well maintained and comprehensively equipped 'family' home including air conditioned bedrooms (a necessity in Aug - don't book a villa without these!) Loved the pool (38 deg C in Aug) and incredible sunsets over the distant hills. Swifts, feeding on the wing morning and early evening, swoop within arms length and have recently nested in the carport beams! Jet black, starlit nights with occasional shooting stars seen. Wonderful dining out - try Los Pastores - superb steak, fish and pasta menu whilst watching the sunset from recently added verandas or equally good Fatima's new venture 'Riad Cabrera' - spanish and arabic menu - both allow dining inside or out - but why would you sit inside? As an engineer) Fascinating to browse the photo albums of the villa under construction in late 1980's - what foresight to pick such a marvellous spot for your magical place! Were the shortsd really that short in the 80s? Fridge rapidly replaced within 24 hours when we think the heat (104 deg max in the week) got to it. Couldn't do without this for the evening gin and tonics plus several bottles of wine per night. Our 80 year old mum says it's the most serene and relaxing place she's ever been! And you don't dare argue with our mum!
Thanks Pat and David for letting us share and totally relax in your little piece of heaven - unfortunately the day job beckons on Tuesday - but hope you're still renting out in 3 years time!

best regards and thanks again - we hope to return.

Magical place

Loved It Essex, Britain
Review Submitted: February 19, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2007
A stunning location, extraordinary views and a perfect place to relax and use as a base to explore the coast. There are great beaches nearby.
Our children, aged 12 and 10 and spent hours in the pool. They, like us adored it here. At their age it was perfect for them. The facilities were great and it was especially clean and well looked after. Customers service was excellent. We were more than comfortable. I would recommend it to friends without hesitation. Greatl restaurants and cafes. The villa is laid out to catch every move of the sun and moon.
We spent many wonderful evenings on the front veranda, watching the sun go down and the stars appear over the mountains. It was fantastic to wake up in the sunny white bedroom with fluttering white curtains and glass doors out to the veranda where climbing flowers frame the very special view over the mountains. Breath

Our family of 5 stayed in Los Arcos in August 2007. We comprised of 2 adults and children aged 15,13 and 10.
We very much enjoyed our stay at this very clean and extremely well equipped villa.
The descriptions of the layout, attractions and restaurants were all very accurate and we really could not fault the villa in any way. Comfortable beds and sitting room furniture, plenty of lounging and patio chairs, plus shade when required.
The views from the villa are spectacular and even the children never tired of them. We used the pool constantly and were glad of the coolness and comfort of the villa during the day when the temperature soared to the upper 30's at times. Easy travelling to beach at Mojocar and free parking there too.
I have had no qualms in recommending it to friends.

We stayed at Los Arcos in September 2007 and really enjoyed our stay. We have been to Cabrera a few times, staying in different properties and this was by far the best. There is lots of space and would be great for a family or couple sharing the accommodation.

The property was very clean on arrival and well presented. It had all the facilities you needed on a self catering holiday. The pool was fantastic and very private. The only downside was that the BBQ eating area was not over looking the amazing views. However, there is a seating area at the front of the property overlooking the views that was great fro Breakfast and a drink in the evening before lighting the BBQ!

As we already knew the village, the location was important as it is very hilly and we wanted to be within an easy walk of the village centre. The distance to the local restaurant was just right. and we can't recommend Los Pastoras highly enough. Fatimas new restaurant had only just opened when we were there so can't really make a judgement on that one.

I would definitelt recommended the property to friends.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments, which are encouraging as 2007 was our first year of sharing our beautiful villa. We can confirm Fatima's new restaurant (Rhiad Cabrera) is excellent; we have dined there & enjoyed North African & traditional Spanish dishes. Patricia
