Apartment in Dives-sur-mer

54 Cheshire
Review Submitted: August 19, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
This holiday was just what our family needed - a relaxing and peaceful break. The apartment was spotless on arrival and it was spacious and comfortable. Communication with the owners was efficient and professional and they provided lots of information regarding the local surroundings. The apartment is in a great location - overlooking the estuary (we spent most evenings watching the changing tides with a glass of wine) but only a few minutes away from wonderful beaches. Needless to say, most days were spent relaxing on the beach. However, we managed to do a bit of sight seeing - D-Day landing beaches, Bayeux tapestry, Rouen, war museum at Caen and Monet`s garden in Giverny. We were lucky to have glorious weather and our children made good use of the shared pool. This apartment is very good value for money if you are looking for a relaxing break. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Apartment in Dives-sur-mer

Review Submitted: September 1, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
The instructions provided were detailed and the facilities were as described. We would have loved to have had a second key to the apartment; other than that it is highly recommended place to stay! The beach in nearby Cabourg via the footbridge is first class and the street cafes are plentiful in season. Dive-sur-mer and the famous historical connections make it all the more special place to visit. The development of the marina which includes this apartment over the past 20 years has transformed this area into quite a holiday hot spot!! July/August are best months to visit.

Long weekend retreat with extended family

Review Submitted: June 10, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We spent a long weekend in may at port guillaume and really liked it. the owners are very friendly and helpful , the apartment is filled with useful information and everyhting you could possibly need for your stay, it is beautifully decorated and has great views of the tides on the sanctuary. With our 2 little kids it was very easy to walk to the nice white sandy beaches of Cabourg, a nice playground is close, the old Market on saturdays in dives amazing. We would definitely come again!

OUR STAY AT DIVES SUR MER

Narrow Sydney Australia
Review Submitted: May 14, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
Very pleased with the experience. Lovely modern apartment very well equipped with a great outlook over the Dives Estuary. interesting walks are in easy proximity to the apartment. The apartment complex is very secure with excellent parking and the apartment is quite in terms of insulation with very little noise from neighbouring units. It is located close to appealing villages, supermarkets etc for travel by car. The apartment is also handy to regional attractions whether located near the sea or inland. We found the apartment very clean and well maintained. Weather in late April was a bit problematic and not conducive to swimming. Would be completely different in warmer weather. Would recommend the property to a friend.

Happy Holiday in Dive

Review Submitted: August 23, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We had a great week this August (2008), the apartment was superb; well equipped, clean and spacious. The view from the apartment was lovely, changing each day with the tides. Apartment is idealy situated for trips to the D Day Beaches and also the lovely towns and beaches of Deauville & Trouville. Fantastic Saturday market in Dives sur Mer, and a great Thursday market in Houlgate, 10 minutes walk away. My children liked the nearby Mini Golf in Cabourg. We had a nice road train ride around Cabourg (at one point some of the local older resident of the town came out and rang a bell whilst waving to the passengers! - we thought it very quaint. We tried all the nearby restaurants and they were all of a very good quality and reasonably priced. We would wholeheartedly recommend this apartment - its of great quality and is in a great location.

Relaxing week in Normandy

efc67 Edinburgh
Review Submitted: August 8, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
Had a wonderful week at the apartment. Very clean and well equipped. Lovely pool (albeit a bit cool on first entry) just outside the building, very secure and walking distance from beaches etc in Cabourg and Houlgate. A great base to explore Normandy from.
Suitable for someone with disabilities. We took our disabled daughter and it was more than adequate - Excellent access to the apartment, pool and undergound parking. The down stairs bedroom and bathroom, meant that we didn't need to carry her up the very precarious, spiral staircase (not for the feint hearted on the way down).
The lack of a bath (there are two showers) made washing her awkward but a very minor negative point in a plethora of positives.
Would definately recommend the apartment to our friends and family.

Spent a week beginning of May in spacious apartment, very new and clean with everything you need away from home- Beautiful setting on the Cote de Fleur and with-in walking distance of 3 towns (Dives, Cabourg and Houlgate). Also ideal base to explore Calvados and rest of Normandy. With bad weather large choice of DVD's as well as excelent selection of books to enjoy. Even got a bottle of French wine from the owners on arrival!

Best location for D-Day sites and many more!

Review Submitted: February 27, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2007
We stayed in mid-October, great weather, no crowds easy access to D-Day beaches traveling with 3 seniors.
The apartment was delightful on a beautiful property.
Pleasant surprises of nearby local historical sites such as gathering place for William the Conqueror before he crossed the channel, 1000 year old church/cemetery both a pleasant short stroll away.
Liseux, Caen, Bayuex tapestry,Mt. St. Michel easy daytrips. Giverny easy access lunch stop on the way from CDG airport.
Owners available and helpful with our self-imposed glitch.
Comfortable place to come back and relive our day while relaxing over dinner. Grocery and take-out nearby.
Only regret was coming too late in season to enjoy beautiful pool!
Highly recommend this property for your trip to Normandy.

Owner's Response: We are always pleased to hear from guests who have stayed and who have, at any time of year, found our apartment meets all their needs and provides an ideal base for exploring Normandy.

If you are looking for a modern, fully fitted apertment with new appliances, crockery, cutlery, bedding AND in a great location then this is the one. Perfectly situated for touring Normandy, close to the sea and based in a safe and secure nautical environment. The apartment is ideal for families or friends and there is nothing that the owners have forgotten to make your holiday perfect.

Normandy Base

Channel Hopper Sussex, UK
Review Submitted: February 10, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2007
This is a great apartment which served as a superb base for our family of 4 adults to tour this part of Normandy.

We particularly enjoyed sitting outside the apartment watching the wildlife in the estuary and the everchanging river views. Bird watchers will love it.

If you do not want to drive when eating out there are restaurants on the marina site, and the more energetic can also walk to Cabourg and Houlgate as well as Dives itself. The boulangerie for breakfast croissants etc was only a few minutes walk away on the other side of the marina.

All contact with the owners went very smoothly and the apartment itself was very well maintained and presented. We would have no hesitation in booking it again next time we are planning a holiday in this area.

Owner's Response: We enjoy the ever-changing views of the estuary; it's one of the things that drew us to the area in the first place. You can watch nature waking up and the sun setting.
