A special place to stay

Review Submitted: September 3, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
This 'gite' was spotless and perfectly equipped. Peggy and Fred have thought of everything to ensure a comfortable holiday. It is within an easy drive of the coast and the country. We would not hesitate to recommend this property and hope to return. How lucky we were to find this lovely place and these kind people.

Our second visit!

We spent two weeks at La Petit Maison this summer...and last summer too! The gite is superbly equipped, exceptionally clean and true home from home. The owners are kind, welcoming and most helpful hosts. We lazed our days away...sitting by the pool, or in the secret garden. The region is marvellous for landscapes, food, wine (of course) and entertainment...so a perfect holiday, and a total re-charge of our spiritual and physical batteries. We once said we would never go back to the same place twice...well now we have, and are likely to book again! Stuart and Lesley, Durham, UK

La Petite Maison

Our 7th holiday in the region, our second at Puimisson but our first at La Petite Maison.Found the property to be all and more than advertised. From habit we took our own bed linen, towels etc. and they remained unused. For sightseeing in the area or simply relaxing on the loungers at the pool, the place is ideal for those seeking a quiet holiday. The village itself has a bakers, butchers and café / bar. Restaurants are about 10 mins.away as are the supermarkets.Beaches can be reached in about 20 mins as can the wonderful hilly countryside. All in all a recommended place to holiday.

Lazy Languedoc

Review Submitted: July 15, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
A very comfortable, lavishly equipped gite. The owners were happy to share their local knowledge which was very useful. It provided a perfect location for exploring all the attractions and culinary delights of the area. The canal du midi was our favourite. Would have no hesitation in recommending this gite, and we hope to return next year, it couldn't get any better.
The weather in June was hot and the pool was a joy to return to after days out.

Wonderful Holiday

Review Submitted: October 3, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We are after returning home to Ireland from a two week holiday at La Petit Maison in France. This is our third stay there in twelve months. The accomodation is excellent. Everything you could possibly need is there. It is by far the best place we have ever stayed in. The area around Puimisson is the most beautiful in the South of France with it's vineyards and views of the surrounding mountains. The area is very central to the citys and towns of Beziers, Narbonne, Sete. Carcasonne and Montpellier. Probably the most important of all was the help and advice we received from the english speaking owners Peggy and Fred. They were wonderful. Another highlight of our stay at La Petit Maison was the many beautiful days we spent at the beach in Valras Plage about twenty minutes away. We would highly recomment this accomodation for anybody looking for a very special holiday and we hope to return there in the future.

MAGIC CHOICE

Review Submitted: September 28, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
Over the last 3 years we have stayed at Le Petite Maison 4 times, twice in one year!! Our vacation here offered everything we wanted - privacy, excellent accomodation with all the facilities and equipment, a wonderful swimming pool, and the most fantastic owners who have always been attentive but respective of our own space. The location and setting of Le Petite Maison makes it an ideal choice for touring the region there is so much choice from the Roman towns of Bezzier and Navronne to the pretty coastal ports like Cete one of our favourites where we frequently enjoyed amazing fish dishes. So many excellent restaurants to choose from but so many times we would just buy some fresh fish and barbeque it back at Le Petite Maison, drinking the local wine on the terrace and watching those glorious sun sets - Magic!!

Peaceful and relaxing

La petite maison in Puimisson is an oasis of calm. After 50 weeks of broken sleep at home, it's lovely to shut the shutters at night and wake up late from a deep sleep unbroken by surburban noise. The cottage is very well equipped and the pool is beautiful. Peggy and Fred are extremely adept at making guests feel at home and are always on hand should anything go wrong or to give advice on where to go. Drive 20 minutes one way and you're in the mountains, 20 minutes in the opposite direction and you're at the beach. For serious shoppers who like their designer goods I would recommend a visit to Montpellier which has individual designer shops such as Hugo Boss, Sonya Rykiel and Galeries Lafayette (similar to House of Fraser). Aigues Mortes and Carcassonne are both walled cities (both around an hours drive) and are well worth visiting. Collioure is a lovely little fishing village close to the Spanish border and around a 1 1/2 hours drive. For the historians, follow the Cathar history and visit some of the Cathar chateaux, Montsegur, Peyrepertuse and Saissac to name but a few. Beziers is the nearest city and has good restaurants, shopping and sightseeing on offer. And of course, the Languedoc is one of the great wine producing areas in France and some well known marques include St Chinian and Faugeres which are within a half hours drive away. This is a fantastic region with lots to see and is ideal for holidays out of the main school holiday dates (less traffic).

Heaven on Earth!

Review Submitted: September 8, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We stayed at La Petit Maison in July 2008, and had perhaps the most relaxing and comfortable holiday ever in France. The house is perfect, impeccably clean and the best-equipped we have stayed in. The 'batterie de cuisine' puts mine at home to shame, and the immaculate and beautifully renovated house is spacious and welcoming. The bathroom would out-do a four-star hotel hands down.

It's hard to find great places for a couple to rent, and this is among the best. The pool is superb, the secret garden...with hammock for the incurably relaxed...is dappled and secluded. The owners are perfect hosts and couldn't do enough to make their guests happy. They supplied the thickest towels I have ever seen!

It's more than that though, because they have created a wonderful place to stay, an ambience of gentle pleasure and friendliness in a fabulous part of the Languedoc. The village is ancient and fascinating, and of course the boulangerie has the best croissants in France...

We have never ever gone back to a place a second time, always preferring to find somewhere new and different...but as soon as we got home this summer, we re-booked. This is genuinely a first, and we are now enjoying the anticipation of returning to Puimisson, knowing that we will have a marvellous holiday in a special place. Book now, because their diary should be totally full if there's any sense and justice in the world! I'm happy to stand by this review, and don't mind at all if anyone wants to contact me via this website to confirm my enthusiasm...We all need our holidays, and this one was fantastic. You won't do better in the region, and you could pay a lot more for a lot less almost anywhere...thanks to the owners, you're both terrific...and so is La Petit Maison.

A place to relax

Peinter Woking Surrey UK
Review Submitted: July 2, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
La Petit Maison is a delightful and peaceful place to stay. it is extremely well equiped with a kitchen to die for! The bedroom and lounge have ceiling fans which kept the gite cool in the very hot weather. The owners were friendly, helpful and approachable. The pool was great and there was no restrictions on it's use.
We found a "welcome kit" consisting of essentials such as milk, butter and fruit which were very wecome after a long journey and late arrival.
A folder containing instructions for all equipment in the gite, and information about local restaurants and places to visit was very useful We went to one recommended restaurant and it was excellent. (Barba's in Beziers)
The description of the gite and local area was accurate. The property was clean and very well maintained and we would certainly recommend this property.
