Excellente location

Caravigno Summer 09

Review Submitted: September 27, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Stayed at Villa 3 weeks in summer 09. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. The surrounding villages, the friendliness of the locals were most welcomed. The multi-lingual villa help to hand was excellent. The food and travelling around the region was wonderful and returning to the villa and its pool, in its secluded setting was perfect. Would recommend to adults and families looking for a break from a busy lifestyle. Whilst a car is needed, beaches are close by and a short enough drive for those with families, to the theme and safari park in Fasano. Travelled with 12-year old boy and day trips to places such as Martina Franca, Lecce, Ostuni and Abarbarella were still enough to occupy him. We had a wonderful wonderful time and so did he. We would recommend this villa to friends, family and anyone who wishes to listen.

August '09 Villa Siena.

Review Submitted: September 11, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
The villa was just as advertised, everything seemed to be in the right place. Me, my wife and our 4 boys had a fantastic time- the view from the roof, the breeze from the sea, figs to eat in the garden, all very peaceful and secluded too.
Plenty of things to do and see locally if you want to, the markets particularly are a joy and much cheaper than in France as are the restaurants.
We'd recommend the villa to almost anyone, except alpine climbers!

Our wonderful week 4-11 October 2008

Review Submitted: October 27, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
What a wonderful retreat. Choose between lazing by the pool with a book ( good selection in the villa ), take a 5 minute car ride into Carovigno to buy some excellent fresh breads, cheeses or pasta's or take a short car ride to some excellent beaches.
The villa itself has all the conveniences one could ask for, in a wonderful setting amongst the various fruit trees. Sitting on the rooftop terrace with views of the sea provided an unforgetable setting for breakfast.
The driving directions provided from Brindisi airport to the villa were spot on and we were met on arrival by Silvana who was exceptionally helpful and also provided us with fruits out of her own garden.
Being food and wine lovers, we can thoroughly recommend the various restuarants around the main square in Carovigno.
A trip to Alberobello is a must, to see the home of the Trulli's. We even got invited into a trulli to have a look around by a very friendly local couple.
All in all, the villa, friendly local people, local attractions and beaches made this a holiday to remember and we hope to revisit in the not to distant future.

A very easy holiday in a beautiful place!

This trip was easiest holiday to plan ever. Sheila couldn't have been more helpful, both before we went and while we were there. All her notes and complete thoroughness were second to none. We were warmly welcomed by Silvana (lives locally) whose English is faultless. She made us feel completely at home and was extremely willing.
The villa was perfect for what we wanted. It was very neat and clean, had good quality bedding, good showers & in a great location as long as you have a car. Well equipped for cooking delicious meals for which all the food was bought locally in Caravigno. Fresh pasta, fish, bread, cheese, veg etc. Sadly there were no figs left in the garden as we were there end Sept, early October but the weather was lovely. Only one day of rain which cleared by early afternoon. 3 good sunbathing days but not quite hot enough to swim, the rest just pleasant for excursions etc. The men came trying to find golf somewhere but couldn't. I would love to return to Villa Siena but perhaps a month or so earlier to capture the perfect weather for a tan! Much recommended. Great value, very comfortable, friendly locals and easy to find.

Very Relaxing Holiday

Extremely comfortable and well equipped - everything we needed for a very relaxing week including very good weather. The owner was very helpful from the start and the amount of information she provided was invaluable as it was the first time in Italy. Plenty to see and do within an hours drive from the Villa and local towns have a good selection of restaurants at reasonable prices. Locals helpful and friendly ( we ended up in a 25th wedding anniversary party one evening) even though not much English spoken and we had even less Italian. Car is essential but most of driving on the back roads so not too bad.
Fully recomended

Lovely villa

Review Submitted: August 17, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
A delightful villa that is obviously well-loved by the owners. It is extremely well equipped, very clean, and benefits from a local couple (Silvana and Antonia) who are on hand to clean the pool, carry out a weekly clean (for small fee) and even do some babysitting.

It is in a good position to explore the region. Bari airport took us just over an hour. Check-in, however, took longer!

Our Holiday in Puglia

Review Submitted: July 28, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
Whilst Stanstead Airport is not necessarily the easiest of airports for many people to get to, the fact we only had a twenty minute drive from Brindisi Airport was a real bonus and got the holiday off to a great start. The directions supplied by the owners were excellent and even at night time were simple and easy to follow.

We were met by Andrea and Amanda at the villa who provided a warm welcome and a detailed explanation of how everything worked and where everything was kept.

The villa exceeded our expectations and we were pleasantly surprised with the amount of land surrounding it. The villa, which is clearly updated on a regular basis proved to be everything we were looking for ..... quiet, yet not too remote, good views over the coasline a nd a great pool.

We have not visited this part of Italy before and will definately come back. Whilst the local town of Carovigno is not what you would call an attractive town, it does have a charm and the square in the old part is definately worth a few visits - there is a great ice-cream shop!

The retaurants were all good and value for money. Hosteria San Fillipo in the square and Il Castelletto on the outskirts of town are definately worth a visit.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this region, and this villa to friends and look forward to paying another visit.

Lovely Villa in the real Italy

Review Submitted: June 1, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
Superbly equipped villa, breakfast on the terrace will be a lasting memory. Easy to find, we drove from Bari airport, and with good and easy directions provided by the owner who also bent over backwards to assist us. I would definitely recommend this villa the pool is a godsend in the heat.

Although the £=Euro was not at its best we were staggered at how little the good things in life, wine, fruit, bread and ice cream were.

If you want the convenience of shops and entertainment on your doorstep then maybe the villa is not for you, you do have to drive everywhere, but if you want peace and quiet in lovely villa and don't mind driving this is for you.

The only shame was the fruit in the garden wasn't ripe to pick when we went.

'A beautifully relaxing week – in fabulous surroundings. We particularly enjoyed: Cisternino (“La Vera”) – a really smart old town and lots of family tavernas, eating at La cantina in Martina Franca, the exploding fruit bowls and chubby cherubs of all the baroque churches in Lecce – and having lunch at The Trumpet – near the Basilica at Santa Croce in Lecce. The ice-creams were fabulous everywhere! As were the people! Thank you very much.'
Angie, Gary, Jamie and Becky, Brighton, August 2007.......'A beautiful villa in a beautiful location. Having dinner on the roof as the sun sets can’t be beaten. The pool is great for cooling off and is set is a well-kept garden complete with butterflies, almonds, grapes and figs. I couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing holiday.'
John and Julia, Aberdeen, July 2007.....What a holiday! We had a brilliant time - the villa was excellent. We loved the area so much. Richard and Jane, Devon, May 2007............FOR MORE COMMENTS SEE OWNER'S WEBSITE
