I do not usually write reviews on where I have stayed but felt this rental deserved the praise.
This house was exactly as shown in the advertisement with cleanliness at a premium. The interior was very stylish and chic but maintained a great homely warmth. Three generations of our family had the pleasure of enjoying our holiday experience in Altea in this fully equipped house that really had everything you would hope and wish for. A DVD library for when it was either too hot or raining along with many books / board games helped with Gran's entertainment. The house itself on 4 levels had a beautiful pool, which had steps into the water for anyone taking a more considered approach. The summerhouse was ideal for a brief respite from the sun with a small fridge enclosed into the underseat cupboard. The garden was well maintained. The master bedroom on the top floor had its own terrace with a great view down over the town out to the harbour bay area. The town itself was stylish with a square adjoining the church with several restaurants (the square is approximately 250mtrs from your door up the cobbled road). There were several good restaurants on which everyone will have an opinion.
Have I recommended this to friends? Yes, but not too many of them that we cannot get booked again!

Casa San Jose

Review Submitted: September 15, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
A beautiful villa, in an ideal location- set in a bijou old town with numerous excellent restaurants, and thoroughly Spanish in ambience and culture. Lovely promenade at the nearby quiet beach which also has great restaurants. Good base to visit other locations, including the beautiful old town of Valencia.
Sounds too good to be true? It gets better. The villa is superb. It is beautifully decorated and maintained both inside and out and Neil and Mike have put every effort into making this as comfortable as possible for their guests. There are numerous personal touches which are greatly appreciated and both owners are immensely helpful and cheerful.
We thought we would never find the Holy Grail, but this is it!

A beautiful Villa wth amazing views

Review Submitted: September 9, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
Our family and my brothers family including a baby have just returned from Altea and we had a wonderful time. Neil and Melvin was wonderful and helpful in helping us organise a fantastic stay. The villa is beautiful and the location is perfect, so close to the centre of old townl, literally 2 mins walk to shops, restaurants and bars. The villa was clean, well decorated, comfortable and the pool was wonderful. We could not have asked for a more brilliant holiday giving the last minute decision to organise a family holiday. We hired a car and visited the waterpark and beach in Calpe nearby. We hope to visit Altea soon and if possible stay at Casa san Jose again. Thanks again Neil and Melvin for everything. All the best, love Thu, Will, Olivia, Tien, Lisa, Jessica, Jennifer and Jenny,.

Faboulous experience

We stayed in the villa for 2 weeks in early June and it exceeded our high expectations. This is a villa with a soul, with many small personal touches in decor, furnishing etc that makes it much more charming than your average rental villa. Garden is well maintained and looked after by the owners themselves.

Description is accurate and location great.

But what impressed us the most was the owners and the service they provided. We brougth our 2 kids, an infant and a 3 y.o., and before arrival "child safety gates" were installed in front of stairways, a new baby cot installed and new toys + pool toys were waiting for us. They had even reserved a parking space for our rental car. On two occasions (one Friday night and one Sunday morning) we needed assistance, and both times they came to our rescue promptly and with a smile. So thanks for making our stay one we will not forget!

If you do choose to rent a car like we did, public parking should not be a problem. A bit crowded on week-end evenings but we always found a space not too far away. Many nice excursions to make including Calpe, Terra Natura, Guadalest etc.

A practical tip for payments: you'll probably be best off making a GBP payment directly to their UK bank due to exchange rates.

We had a wondeful time at Casa San Jose. The Casa has everything you could possibly need. Spotless clean and free internet access was very good. Great location, everything on your doorshop. first class restaurants.

Neil & Mike are such nice guys, nothing was too much trouble for them.

Shall certainly be back next year and would recommend to everyone.

Thanks Neil and Mike for a prefect holiday.

We have just returned from spending a restful and relaxing week in this most beautiful villa in the heart of the old town. Everything you need is here. Neil and Mike were fantstic - thought of everything. The sea is quite a walk but the pool more than makes up for this. I highly recommend this to anyone - a very luxurious place to stay

I have just spent a lovely 2 week holiday in Casa San Jose with my family. It was an absolutely beautiful place to stay and the description was very accurte as regards the location, layout and facilities not to mention the pool and garden. In the heart of the old town of Altea you can just walk out to many quaint shops and restaurants. The villa was clean and well maintained including the garden and pool areas. The owner was there to greet us on arrival and provided excellent customer service and was just a phone call away. I would certainly recommend this property to a friend. MSCC
