Fantastic apartment

Mark..... Northampton
Review Submitted: April 9, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
The apartment is very spacious and clean. We stayed with our 9 month old daughter (Irene provided a cot) and it would also suit a larger family than this. It is perfectly located within a minutes walk to the metro and even less time to the bus stop. There are a couple of shops across the road and some 'local' restaurants - off the main tourist trap. We were met on our arrival by Irene who was very helpful and kind and who made sure we had everything we needed. She also kindly helped us with details of a local doctor when our little girl was poorly. It was good to know that there was someone who could speak fluent English who could help us if needed.
I would highly recommend this apartment.

Perfect Base to see Rome on our First Visit

Montrose Man Montrose , Scotland
Review Submitted: October 16, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We ( Me my wife and 2 teenage girls) arrived at Ciampino about 10 :30 and after an easy bus journey to Anagnina we took the Metro to Colli Albani station which in total took about 30 mins from the Airport .

We were met by Irene on arrival and she gave us a tour of the flat and the low down on what to do and how to get to places - very helpful . The apartment was very clean and tastefully furnished and our first impressions were very good. We had a quick walk around the local area and found a good size supermarket , a bakery , a Pastry/Ice-Cream/Coffee shop and plenty banks within a few minutes walk . What else would we need ! There are plaenty of pizzerias where you can grab take-away slices of various pizza and also roast chicken . There are also a few places to eat out but we never quite managed this .

Irene had provided some welcome groceries so we were able to have a coffee and cold drink , even ice-cream in the freezer for the kids and the adults !

The apartment is very safe and secure . There is a secure entrance and the apartment is on the 6th floor reached either by foot or by the quaint lift which is a godsend if you have been out all day walking the Roman roads .

Throughout the week I grew to like the apartment so much it was sad to leave . The bedroom was spacious with plenty room for all our clothes . The bed was comfortable . It was a bit noisy at nights as the traffic from the road seems to go all night but we are used to staying in a very quiet place and as the week went on I slept better each night . The balcony is nice for just sitting out after a hard day and be entertained by the traffic antics .

The Kitchen was fine, the grill combination microwave was good for heating up pizza from the local shops and a large fridge with freezer for groceries. Even a proper Italian coffee maker for making a nice espresso . The tap water was safe to drink and was fine .

Our girls slept in the sofa bed and this seemed okay too. TV if you have time .We watched Irene's DVD of Roman Holiday which I'd never seen - It's great ! Even my 14 year old daughter liked it and it's in B&W .

This Apartment should suit a family of up to 4 as long as the kids don't mind sharing . The Metro is great for getting about ( only 1 euro per journey , 16 for unlimited travel for 7 days )

Irene made sure we got a taxi okay to take us back to the airport - only 15 minutes ( ~ 20 Euros ).

I miss Rome already - Grazie molto Irene

Handy Location

Right near a cross town bus route and an A line Metro stop, this flat is ideally placed for sightseeing in Rome. The flat is very comfortable and well-equipped. The only drawback is its location immediately above a busy intersection. If you're fresh air fiends like us and like to have the windows open at night, then take your earplugs.

Irene was very helpful from start to finish and is a pleasure to deal with. She very kindly organised transfers to and from Fiumicino saving us the hassle of hopping on and off trains with heavy cases.

We found a great restaurant, Torchio Sardo, in a nearby street and had a couple of great meals with very friendly service.

A perfect Roman holiday

Irene's apartment is an excellent example of all that is needed for people to have a relaxing and comfortable holiday. Everything is as she has described in the listing. The apartment was beautifully presented and Irene could not have done any more to welcome us and provide all the assistance and information you could require. We have already recommended to some of our friends and colleagues that htey should seriously consider staying here when in Rome. The location is right beside excellent bus and metro links to the city centre and there are plenty of eating and shopping opportunities within metres of the apartment. All in all just perfect. Thanks again, Irene

My Stay in Rome

Review Submitted: July 27, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We arrived late on a Friday night to the apartment, Irene was there to greet us and was very helpful, there was a welcome pack for us and lots of information was available in the apartment, about Rome.

The apartment is a great location so central for getting around with meto and bus stops just a few meters away. Everything about the apartment was ideal very homily and clean. My teenage son came along with us and he throughly enjoyed staying in Irenes apartment, The area where we were situated in is very central with all amenities close by.

I would reccommend this apartment to anyone visiting Rome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Fantastic stay in Rome!

Review Submitted: June 4, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
This was one of those holiday properties, which as soon as you walked in, felt like home. The apartment was spotless and very well looked after by the owner, Irene. There was everything you needed during your stay, including a very useful 'welcome' food pack. Local facilities were superb (restaurants, pharmacy, supermarket, and the all-important ice-cream 'gelateria'). Transport links were very close by, and travelling to and from Fiumcino airport was easy. Irene provided all the instructions we needed to travel to and around Rome. A very safe place to stay, and the real Italy - forget the restaurants in the middle of Rome - eat within minutes of the apartment with the locals at half the cost!

Highly recommended apartment in Rome

Review Submitted: November 8, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
We rented this apartment for one week in June this year as part of an extensive trip of Italy. Without exaggeration, this was by far the best week of the seven for many reasons. Even before leaving the UK, the owner was extremely helpful in the organisation of transport from the airport and with information regarding sightseeing, local transport, places to eat etc. Our arrival was flawless and we were met by Irene (the owner), who gave us a thorough tour etc with perfect information re: transport, sights etc. Central Rome is just a few stops on the metro, taking no more than a few minutes and you can literally see the metro/bus stops from the window. The local supermarket was fantastic, and a bakers nearby had the most amazing fresh pizzas, cakes, breads etc. Literally everything you need is a stones-throw away. The flat itself was wonderful, pristine, homely and spacious. The balcony is perfect for afternoon sunning, wine and dinner whilst watching the Roman world go by. Can’t wait to go back!!!

Away from the Madding Crowd

Graham and Fiona Canberra, Australia
Review Submitted: October 30, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We recently spent two weeks in this spacious and comfortable apartment. To be honest, it's not the apartment for you if you want views of the Forum or the Colosseum, or the hubbub that is part of staying in the centre of the city. However, if you want the (slightly!) more relaxed lifestyle that comes with life outside the city walls, this could be right for you. The apartment is only about a minute's walk from both bus and metro, which means that it has ready access to most parts of Rome. The trip by metro to Termini station takes less than 15 minutes.

The apartment is in 'real' Rome. There are no tourists in the neighbourhood. The restaurants (there are several worth eating at nearby) are full of Romans. The supermarket and coffee shops (you can buy great coffee and pastries just across the road) are full of Romans. So is the nearby market that operates from Monday to Saturday, and the pizzerias and gelaterias.

We really enjoyed our time in the apartment. You will too.

Excellent stay at flat in Rome

My family of 5 fit so nicely in this clean, well-kept flat. It has a great location to a grocery, bakery, metro, bus lines, and restaurants. Secure building that made us feel very safe and the owner was wonderful to work with. She had information about the area and how to get to all the sight-seeing places in a handy folder. We're from the USA and did alot of home-work before traveling. I'm happy to say that I'd recommend this property to anyone. It was superb and the owner was wonderful.
