Great zermatt apartment

SKIKIP Chesterfield
Review Submitted: January 25, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
We stayed in the casa collinetta in jan 2009,The place is very clean and modern with a great ski room for all your ski equipment which is safe and secure.
The view from the balcony of the town and of course the Matterhorn is to die for.
We also found a way to ski down to the apartment but then found it easier to leave the skis locked up at the front of the sunnegger lift for 2 fr per night, making it easier to walk back to the apartment after a days skiing which is about 10 mins walk.
Although the apartment is not in the middle of town i would definitely recommend this place.
We would also recommend a cheese fondue at chez vrony on the mountain, but definitely book as it gets full at lunch time.

Great Apartment in Zermatt

Review Submitted: January 17, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2008
We stayed in this apartment in March 2008, so this review is a little late, but I don't recall seeing any reviews here when we rented. The apartment is lovely, fantastic views and in a great part of town, if you like to be slightly removed from all the action but close enough to walk in and out of town. It has all the amenities you'd want. We stayed with 3 people (2 in the bedroom, and one on the sofa) and it was fine. We cooked, used the DVD player and the espresso machine. Great little ski room on the ground floor for drying equipment and boots. Only complaint would be the walking back and forth to the lifts with my boots on, as it became a bit uncomfortable by day 5, but I was breaking in new boots, so maybe just me. I also brought some crocs (light rubber shoes) and wore those to the lift and then carried them in my pack during the day which was quite handy actually.

Great Holiday

Review Submitted: January 13, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
Had a fantastic time over new year in this very very nice apartment. City Centre party was a great laugh, fireworks, dj and europop !

It is very well decked and has everything you need and more.

Its only 5 mins walk from the lift or the bus to the glacier express and you can easily walk into town for a night out.

We also found a way you could board or ski down straight to the apartment from the ski run.

The owner was very easy to work iwth infact even met their parents in the bar who bought us a drink, could you ask for more !!

Zermatt as a whole is a great resort with loads to do and would recommend it to anyone.

Thanks

The property was exactly what we were expecting and if new and clean is what you are looking for then this is for you. We were a family of 5 and although small the space was adequate, The up to date kitchen and entetainment equipment made the stay very pleasant.

Clean modern appartment

JJ-NL Rotterdam - Netherlands
Review Submitted: September 24, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We stayed here for a week in september. We really like the appartement very much. Everything you need is there, the view from the balcony is beautiful.
It was very clean and looked exactly like the pictures on the internet.
We stayed with 2 persons, and that was enough for me, I could not imagine staying with 4, but if you are really good friends, or probably with kids it could be ok.
Only negative thing might be the distance to the centre, but is not a reason for not going there!
I would go there again without doubt!

First Time In Zermatt

Merry Go London
Review Submitted: August 19, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
On the plus side.
Our stay in this property and the picturesque village of Zermatt was excellent.
The property was spotlessly clean, modern, well equipped and very comfortable with an excellent view of the Matterhorn from the balcony. It was about a 15 Minute walk to the centre of Zermatt and about a 25 Minute pleasant walk to the other end of town where the cable lifts are situated.
We did have a slight problem with the WiFi connection which the owner kept us in touch about and quickly tried to rectify.
The locals were friendly and helpful
On the minus side.
The Electric Taxies are it seems completely unregulated. They have no meters and give no receipts. We were charged £11 for the 3 Minute journey from the station to the apartment.
Don't bother having a Fondue

We would defenitely go again and recommend it to a friend
Owner's Response: Thanks Merry Go for your positive feedback - just a few things I'd like to clarify:

- The nearest lift is only 5-10 minutes walk from the apartment, whch takes you to Sunnegga and from here you can get to any slope in Zermatt or Cervina (it's also where almost all of the best restaurants are located). The cable lift at the other end of town takes you to a different part of the mountain.

- I can understand that a fondue might not be to everyone's taste, but we love them and in the guide we give to our tennants, we make a number of suggestions for the best places to enjoy a cheese fondue, a fondue Bourguignonne and a fondue Chinoise.

- The taxis are regulated (they should all display a rate card in the window) and charge based on the distance, the number of passengers and whether or not they are carrying luggage. The initial journey may therefore seem expensive because of the luggage (and the fact that Sterling is currently very weak against the Swiss Franc). Another point to note is that they will all tell you what the fare will be at the start of the journey.

Classy property

Worldly wise Amersham UK
Review Submitted: August 2, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
Just returned from an excellent week in this lovely apartment. The property is very well equipped with high quality modern facilities and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The balcony offers a fantastic outlook over Zermatt and on to the Matterhorn and is a great place for an afternoon drink.

Location is about 10 minutes walk from the centre of town, although there are one or two restaurants close by.
