Greek Paradise !

Review Submitted: August 16, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
This place should come with a warning - you will never want to go back home !! It is absolutly beautiful and so close to the beach and sea. It was so nice not to hear any other english voices and it is completely away from it. It is hard to tear yourself away from the beach house as it is so peaceful but it is easy to explore the island from here. There are some beautiful fishing villages along the same coastline. More importantly this is the real Greece. There are several taverna's around serving a variety of local food and a bar down the road which is a great way to end an evening. One day we even saw a pod of dolphins playing in the strait between lesvos and turkey from the villa patio. It is that peaceful ! The beach house has excellent facillities that work well and are in excellent condition. Renting a good standard car is a must - especially if you want to explore some of the more rural parts of the island.

Best vacation yet

If you are looking for an ideal spot to vacation in - don't miss the Kyparisis Beach House 2. When my husband and I booked the house we did not know what to expect - well we were blown out of our minds. The house is in the most perfect location directly on a quite beach. You can literaly roll out of bed and be in the ocean. The view across the ocean is spectacular. The house has doors and windows all facing the sea. The one from the kitchen made cooking an absolute pleasure. Shopping from the carts that came around gave you the freshest fish at great prices. The owners are wonderful and they stocked the house with everything you would need. We cried when we left - but no doubt we will go back again. We loved every minute of our vacation and never relaxed so much Lainie and Ted

Kyparisis Beach House no. 1

olenka Poland
Review Submitted: January 15, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2008
We spent 10 days in Kyparisis Beach House no. 1. The house is simple but stylish furnitured and has a well equipped kitchen area. It has the magic view and direct access to the almost private beach (the picturesque view you have never seen before – just from the bathroom’s window :-))
It takes only seconds to reach a clear sea (sometimes a little bit chilly in the second part of September).
We enjoyed having meals on a veranda, at roaring waves, looking at the beautiful sea.
The surrounded area is quiet and offers a lovely kind of seclusion. If you want to do shopping in the nearest village Skala Mystegna (a wonderful bread from the traditional, local bakery, a tasty butter, feta cheese, eggs, fruit and vegetables) or discover this lovely island (Molivos, Petra, Madamados, Leimonos monastery, Skala Sikamias, Agiassos, Mytilini, Kampos/Gavathas beach, Skala Kallonis... The only one disappointment were hot mineral springs.) you must rent a car (the best choice would be 4WD-car, for example Suzuki Jimmy)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will surely and willingly return to this lovely place again.

skala mystegna an absolute gem

Skala mystegna beach house was an absolute gem of a place to stay. The house itself was more than we expected. It was just as we had seen it advertised. Comfort plus with everything one would want. Oh so clean and comfortable.
To step out each day to the inviting waters, to relax on the balconies and watch the world go by, was ever so relaxing. To see Turkey lit up at night, across the waters,to hear the local market man come by in his truck with fresh fruit each morning , going to the little kiosk for fresh bread, to venture up to Skala Mystegna the village, is what we needed on this holiday, we loved everything about it. One does really need to have a car to be able to visit the many beautiful places .
The local restaurants were also worth a visit, as was the neighbouring villages.
Melinda and Theo were wonderful hosts.Thank you.
Our time there was too short, a home certainly to come back to.

Kaparisis beach Houses

Review Submitted: October 11, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
My sons and I spent a wonderful week in Beach House No 1. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing setting than this. Fabulous views, the sea close by, fantastic facilities in the house. The barbeue was used regulary, the small village nearby supplied us with wonderful bread and meat for the BBQ, whilst the lady in the minimarket couldn't have been more helpful. I'd love to go back again soon.

A wonderful get away from it all holiday location

coming back North Yorkshire, England
Review Submitted: August 29, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We spent two perfect weeks in the beach house In August. We last visited Lesvos 12 yeara ago when our four children where young and loved the unspoilt feeling of the island, it still has that same feel today. This was our first holiday without children aged between 17 and 24 they felt the house and its location where too quite for them- they were right but it was absolutely perfect for us and would have been for them when they were younger. NO big excursion to the beach it is there on the doorstep! Waking every morning to unspolt views of the white pebbled beach, the calm sea and the coast of Turkey in the distant was unbelievable. To be the only person in the sea at 8 in the morning was worth getting up for!!!

The description the owners give of the property is spot on- it was just as we had imagined if not better.

Both houses ( we spent some nights in each!) are incredibly well equipped and furnished to a very high standard. They are decorated simply and cleanly to fit in exactly with the location. They were spotlessly clean and the very friendly cleaner visted regularly. To have both towels and beach towels provided was wonderful. All you need to take are some clothes!

This is not the place to visit if you want to meet and mix with other British holiday makers, it is truly a Greek hide away where local people live and spend their holidays! The local tavernas served good local produce and plenty of fresh fish. We were visited each morning by vans selling fish straight from the fishing boats and fresh fruit and vegetables.

If you can drag yourself away from the peace, ttranquility and crystal clear sea, a car is essential and it really is worth exploring other parts of the island, if you havce the energy (which we didn't) you can take a day trip to Turkey.

The only problem we have with recomending this property to others is purley selfish- we don't want lots of other people to know it's there!! We will certainly be returning.

Beach House No 1. Skala Mystegna

Vic & Jill Thame, Oxfordshire
Review Submitted: July 31, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
Our stay at Beach House No 1 was perfect. The house lived up to all expectations and the beach location is ideal for anyone looking for peace and quiet. We enjoyed the "village" life, strolling to the local restaurants and bars along the beach. Although we enjoyed visiting other parts of the Island, we were always pleased to return to Skala Mystegna. With the sea right on the doorstep - what more could you ask for. We are returning in 2009 and look forward to seeing Melinda and Theo again.

We are just back from our wonderful holiday, in Scala Mystenga at the Kyparissis Beach house. If you are looking for a holiday where you can reconnect with your family this is for you we took our teenage son and daughter and our 9 yr old daughter here and had a great holiday doing nothing but swimming in the beautiful clear water having lazy lunches and cocktails at the bar 50 yrds along the beach ( they do great crepes to).
Taverna up in the village is brilliant you just allow the lady to choose what you eat and it just keeps coming very reasonable. Next door to taverna you will find a place that does Giros ( pitta bread with meat salad etc, they also do a take away service and deliver it down to the kiosk. The house has everything you need for a very relaxing holiday.
We will come back one day for sure
