Ontinyent

Review Submitted: March 18, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2008
We and the children were so happy with the stay, that we decided to go back the next summer and we enjoyed the second stay again. We had the swimmingpool on our own,and an extra place with barbecue and freezer. There was possibility to have reiki our massage, what we can really recommend. It is a perfect place to relax in a quiet neighbourhoud. You need a car, but there are lots of interesting places to visit like Valencia, beaches,..The casita was simple, but clean and the owners are very friendly!

Owner's Response: We are always excited to have new guests staying in the Casita. Its a perfect place to chill and very safe for children,

We have many return guests who become friends.

Casita Sanchis

Quested Cheshire
Review Submitted: November 13, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
If you want to get away from the tourist hotspots and experience Spain, as lived in by the Spanish, then Casita Sanchis is the place for you. It is located in the grounds of an olive grove, on the outskirts of a medium sized town, Ontinyent. The town is a centre for light industry and commerce and has a good modern shopping centre, with an old town at its heart. Since Casita Sanchis is right on the edge of Ontinyent you can walk straight out of the casita into the hills. The casita, which is an annexe to the owner’s house, is simple but clean and has its own private outdoor area. Cooking facilities are basic, being limited to a microwave and two electric rings, so a home-made meal for a family of four would be a challenge. The kitchen / living area has an interconnecting door to the main house and is not entirely sound proof, so you need to be considerate of noise. Bev and Rodger, the owners, are very welcoming and are happy for you to cook on the barbecue by the swimming pool. The pool itself, shared with the owners, is small but more than adequate for a cooling dip, and it’s a lovely spot for sunbathing or to sit under the shade of the trees and admire the scenery.
Local attractions include the beauty spot, Pou Clar, with its crystal clear turquoise pools flowing through a limestone gorge, and the neighbouring town of Bocairent which is a typical Spanish hilltop town with its web of narrow winding streets. Further afield we followed a walk described in one of the many leaflets found at the casita – up to the castle at Concentaina, from where there is a magnificent view of the Alcoy valley. Within an hour’s drive is the well known tourist village of Guadalest with its castle and stunning views over the lake and surrounding hills. The coast is an hour’s drive away and you can either join the crowds in Benidorm and Alicante or seek out the quieter beaches around Gandia enjoyed by the Spanish.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week of relaxation and sightseeing based at Casita Sanchis, but suggest you take a few Spanish lessons before you go, if you want to get the best out of your stay.

Visit first week of November 2009

Review Submitted: November 11, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We enjoyed a wonderful week long stay at the Casita.
Bev and Roger were very warm and helpful hosts.
Weather this time of year was perfect.
The local area had a lot to offer and Ontinyent was a town which certainly grew on us over the space of a week. By the end we were enjoying the gastornomic festival, local restaurants etc etc
Travel to Valencia and further north to Barcelona was also easy by rail from Xativa.
We enjoyed a walk in the vicinity of Bocaraint which really was wonderful, especially given that the weather this time of year was perfect for walking.
Property was clean and well maintained.
We would recommend this property to friends.

The directions could be a little clearer. I know were not the best at reading the given directions but a clearer map showing the location of the property would help everyone to home in. Thanks for coming out on the search party! :-)

great summer break

A wonderful break in the countryside. The children enjoyed the pool and vast open spaces. Property was very clean and well-equipped. Thanks to the perfect weather we ate and spent all our time outdoors - inside maybe a bit cramped for a family of four in the event of bad weather - there was a separate games/TV room, however.
Short car ride into town with shops and nice bars in pedestrian areas - full of locals, not many tourists. Beaches very clean and not crowded at all in early July. Bev and Rodg really helpful and friendly. We hope to go back one day.

Owner's Response: The pool is fantastic and it is really quiet here so you have a truelly private space. We agree the casita is small for 4 people so we have now decided to advertise for 3 people. However you are always welcome back caroline and Antonio .Kind regards Bev

We stayed during March particularly for Fallas week.
Very convenient for exploring the whole region and the train service into Valencia from Xativa was excellent.
The casita very comfortable and an ideal base with everything we needed.
Bev and Rodg very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble
We hope to return later in the year and take advantage of the pool and gardens.
