Cortijo Los Pelaes

Review Submitted: September 10, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Our family had the most amazing holiday at this villa just 2 weeks ago and we all so want to be back there! We found the villa easily from printed directions, and we were greeted and made to feel at home right away. The villa was spotlessly clean and had every appliance you could wish for. The children (and adults!) loved the pool and toys and all the outdoor space. The views are stunning from the villa in all directions and it is so peaceful there. The villa itself is gorgeous and so spacious, even with 13 of us you could find your space if needed. The bedrooms are luxurious and bathrooms beautifully decorated and plentiful. We had planned trips out but were more than happy to stay at Cortijo Los Pelaes and relax, swim and just admire the views. A truely special villa and setting and we will definately be back............

Outstanding villa

We couldn't recommend this villa enough - we spent a week here in July and it wasn't long enough, none of us wanted to leave! The villa is stunning with an enormous living area downstairs and large bedrooms with plenty of bathrooms - all perfect for our party of 11 (including 5 young children). The villa is incredibly well equipped from all the mod-cons in the kitchen, air conditioning throughout, to DVDs and Playstation games. The owners couldn't have been more helpful or efficient during the booking process and provided lots of information about the villa and local attractions etc. The villa is very well maintained and immaculate throughout. In all a fantastic holiday!

My fab April mini break

Review Submitted: August 10, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
My partner surprised me and took me to Spain to celebrate my birthday In April 2009. We arrived at the villa and found it spacious, very well equiped with a huge, massive kitchen, for those that enjoy cooking it is heavenly. There are 5 bedrooms ensuring that 2 or 3 families could stay and would have their own space whilst enjoying coming together at mealtimes and round the pool. The garage is well equiped with bikes for kids as the owners have children of their own. We personally wanted to stay out of the way but in a location that had easy access to Granada, Seville, Cadiz etc. We visited the Alhambra Palace which was beautiful and the local shops and markets were delightful. To explore all the parts of Spain that are unspoilt and full of charm, this villa is ideal. It has all the home comforts that modern children like, such as DVD, PS2, TV but I had left my child at home with grandma so luckily didn't have to utilise these particular facilities....but trust me, if my ten year old had been with me, he would have been in child heaven. The actual house is beautifully restored in local, traditional style but with every modern convenience to make your stay a home from home. We had a serene 5 days and look forward to returning for either a long weekend or two week summer stay....with the kid!!!!!

Best rental experience ever

Gazooby Bloomington, Indiana, USA
Review Submitted: June 19, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Stayed here with two families for a week in June 2009. My review will have difficulty doing justice to this villa as I will run out of superlatives. In a nutshell, based on years of experience renting vacation homes, this is the best appointed, most comfortable house I have ever rented. Lots of amenities, including laundry and a very complete kitchen setup. Helpful local support in town if you have a question. The mountain scenery is stunning, the location is ideal for visiting Antequerra, Ronda, Malaga, Granada, Cordoba. The kids really appreciated the pool -- and the pool toys! Note: this is a remote location and you will definitely need a car. Don't miss the Laguna Fuente del Piedra and the Lobo Wolf Park outside of Antequerra! Many thanks to the owner for her maps, guidebooks, detailed directions for accessing the house, grocery shopping advice, restaurant recommendations (which were good ones) and other helpful info. We loved our stay and were very sad to depart.

We have had a very relaxing well earned break in this beautiful authentic villa. The children have spent the fortnight swimming and playing pool which left my husband and I time to catch up with reading, chatting and listening to music. We highly recommend it to get away from everything!!!

Olive lovers paradise!

Review Submitted: July 20, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
Our family of 8 adults spent a marvelous 2 weeks at this home. It is spacious, luxurious and very comfortable. The outdoor area and pool are just wonderful. A great location as it was not a far drive to Granada or Cordoba. Seville is only a bit further. The olive oil from this area is the best!
Exploring the nearby producers is a wonderful adventure in itself.

beautiful villa

this is a very spacious villa recently completely renovated to the highest standard with amazing attention to detail including beautiful andalusian tiling in all the bathrooms. it is in a stunning location on the edge of the village but close to restuarants and only 30 minutes from Malaga or an hour from Granada and the amazing Alhambra palace.
There was plenty of space for our group of 4 adults and 4 children and the kitchen is very well equipped, behind the villa is a track leading to endless olive groves where it is very safe for children to roam.

Simply stunning

This is not like most villas, the owners have family in the village and it has been built/renovated first of all as their family home, not just an investment (we met an uncle). Attention to detail and quality is obvious everywhere.
There is a constant breeze making even 37degrees quite comfortable, and remote control aircon throughout the house is really civilized. Even a garage so that your car isnt roasting when you get in. This house has been put together by people who understand and love the area.
The locals are lovely, even to us (with no spanish) and they were great with our children. Food in the villages was exellent and cheap, but be warned the spanish eat late, this was a problem untill the children got used to it.
The landscapes are stunning and the mountains change colour through the day.
I have recommended this villa to my friends and family as i get the impression that the owners are not the sort of people who will compromise with their home.
