Spain in a cave!

Janhed Bolton
Review Submitted: September 4, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
My partner and I who between us have three children ages 12, 14 and soon to be 16 had pre-warned them that we wanted to have a relaxing holiday so had chosen this property with them in mind! Considering all the facilities that Helen and Warren provided this seemed an ideal compromise, and it was! The location we felt seemed more Spanish than the 'Benidorm' type holiday, and the surrounding villages were typical of this, even though there were English people living there, running shops, Bars and restaurants it still felt Spanish.
The Cavehouse has all facilities required including a toaster! Helen and Warren are very helpful and will gladly recommend things to do or places to go.
It is a unique holiday, in its not a hotel but a 'cave', and with the low uneven ceilings and lots of dark corners you feel that you are living underground! The bedroom furnishings are basic but adequate, and the kitchen and bathroom had everything you'd expect.
All in all we would definately recommend the Cavehouse with all its fab facilities to all our friends and relatives.

A beautiful and relaxing place to stay

Review Submitted: July 21, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
This has to be one of the most relaxing holidays we have had as a family . We were blessed with exceptional weather which always helps. The Location and facillities are everything and more this is an ideal place to relax but with enough to keep the family occupied.
Staying in a cave house added novalty and charm .The house was clean and well maintained , containing all the little extras to make our stay very comfortable and easy.
A great choice for families or groups wanting a relaxing rural holiday with plenty to do and explore if you so wish.
The owners were so welcoming and very helpful with local info, car hire etc making this an excellant holiday choice.

A very relaxing experience!

The cave house and grounds were bigger than we expected and worked well for our holiday with extended family giving everyone their own space or space to mix as required. It was refreshingly cool inside and also surprisingly light. The house and furnishings are not luxurious but clean and well stocked for a big family. The swimming pool was lovely and we enjoyed the additional recreational facilities such as the tennis court. If we had to make any negative comment it would be that we would recommend some additional areas of outdoor shade be created and possible more comfortable outdoor seating/lounging.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback. We have bought an extra new table and chairs with parasol to add to the existing furniture & parasols.
The huge marble table with seating for 8, situated beneath the large carob tree is in the shade for most of the afternoon, as is the hammock beneath the fig tree.

Fantastic family holiday in beautiful surroundings

Review Submitted: November 14, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We were lucky enough to spend 10 days at this lovely cave house at the end of August, and had a superb holiday. The cave is really lovely with loads of character and the facilities are brilliant, even better than in sounds in the description.

The area is very pretty and very spanish and we enjoyed some lovely meals locally as well as enjoying the barbeque at the villa.

Helen, Warren and their lovely boys were fantastic hosts and we look forward to returning very soon.

4 of us went there a couple of weeks ago, and we had a great time. The family is very nice and helpful. The amenities are great. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday ( the wine tasting nearby is great by the way !! ) then book it now, you will not be disappointed.

I will definitely recommend it and I will certainly go back.

Beautiful setting in real Spain

Review Submitted: August 26, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
The cave house is in a beautiful, peaceful setting very close to the charming little village of La Canalosa. It's ideal for families as there is lots to do in the grounds (swimming/tennis/swingball etc) and would also suit walkers/cyclists etc. Helen and Warren are very helpful and will go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay. You will need a car to enjoy all the lovely surroundings. Book it - you won't be sorry. We can't wait to go back!

Peaceful and relaxing

Craig M Hants UK
Review Submitted: August 24, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We drove from UK with 2 dogs looking for a peaceful and relaxing break. This place offers exactly that and the owners went out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. The imediate area offers unlimited walking opportunity with one village close by and a larger town just a few minutes drive away. There are several nice restaurants close by also many more, as well as large shopping complexes, in the larger towns 20 minutes drive away. Beaches are 30-40 minutes drive for a dayout. The Cave was wonderfully cool despite the mid day tempertatures of 35 degrees outside and sleeping was therefore very comfortable. The pool and tennis court are great to have on site and there is plenty to do inside the cave should the weather be poor. All the family really enjoyed our time here.

A wonderfully quiet oasis

KirstyD Johnstone, Scotland
Review Submitted: August 19, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
A perfect getaway for those who enjoy peace and quiet with the options to swim, play tennis and walk as much as you like.
The owners made us feel right at home and were really helpful. All descriptions were accurate.
It is fairly remote so a car is a must but the local villages are lovely and there is one within walking distance.
The cavehouse is an interesting experience (although tall people will find the low doorways painful at times) and it is lovely and cool during the very hot days.
