The Ultimate Getaway.

This villa offers true value for money and is for anyone seeking total relaxation. It has a lovely interior and is very clean and spacious. We found this property the ideal location for the perfect getaway,it felt like our second honeymoon. It had great landscape views leading down to the harbour, which was beautiful. We had several candle lit evenings on the balcony enjoying a few glasses of rum punch ,The villa has a lovely private pool ,which is great for relaxing around during the day,it is kept very clean and well maintained.Gary the caretaker was very helpful and informative,he was always on hand if you needed him and provides you with a phone incase you need to contact him,a true gentleman. The restaurants that we tried in grenada were of very high standards and the food was great, there are a few not far from the villa, about a 10 minuite walk, bit of a hill to walk down, but great fun to walk back up at night, what a laugh. The people are very friendly and there are so many beautiful places to visit, a perfect choice for a holiday. Thanks Gary,James and Susie for a wonderful holiday,we shall return.

Wonderful Villa with evrything that you need :)

This Villa is in a lovely part of the island with stunning views looking out towards the sea. The property is nice and spacious with plenty of room. The bedrooms are lovely and airy and the outside pool with views and veranda are a wonderful added bonus. It does have a rather steep uphill climb of about ten minutes, which is not a problem and well worth it for the accommodation that you have waiting for you. The alternative is to hire a car, which again is no fuss and then only a two minute drive to the beach. However, its only a ten minute walk to the bus stop, which gives you access to the whole island. Whatever you choose you will not be unhappy with your choice of dwelling. The owner James is very helpful and will give you all the advice you require. Also, your contact in Grenada (Gary) is very nearby. He is available for any queries that you may have and is extremely helpful and friendly. He gives you with a mobile phone for ease of contact and you can contact him at any time. We didn't need to bother him as we didn't have any problems and everything was catered for when we arrived. The transfers to and from the airport were without a hitch just like the holiday. I can not recommend this villa enough and will not only use it again but will also be recommending it to my family and friends. Thank you very much James and Gary - Hope to see you soon :)

Owner's Response: Dear MT-R. Thank you for your lovely comments. I'm so glad that you found everything as you expected. It is not always easy to please everybody but more often than not we do - Both me and my staff in Grenada strive for this kind of response.
It is always good testament if you are willing to recommend to your family and friends. I really hope to see you and your family again, you were a pleasure to accomodate.
Yours Sincerely.
James.

Fantastic

The house was just as we expected . It was clean, spacious and with all mod cons. It was decorated tastefully just as advertised. The little extra's were fab - An island tour and a foot massage - Wonderful. The walk back was a little challenge after a lazy day at the beach but it was well worth it! I would absolutely recommend this villa, I would chose to stay here over any B&B or Hotel! Our children 11 and 14 loved it - When we could get them out of the pool, they were able to walk unsupervised to the local beach. The caretaker kindly brought us to the nearby mall for our groceries - he was very helpful. We hired a car for a few days to explore the island too and used the local busses. We walked down to the local restaurants on several occasions. Kids loved the pizza at the marina.
I would not recommend this villa if you are elderly or infirm as the steps would be difficult.

Disappointed

The property needs some maitenance as it is a little tired. It had obviously not been cleaned prior to our arrival and the pool also required attention as it contained algae and there was undiluted chemicals on the steps.

The nearest beach is perhaps 15 minutes walk away at the Calabash hotel or if you did not wish to pass through the property then the public beach is a further 10 minutes away.

A vehicle is essential for groceries and other activities.

EXCELLENT HOLIDAY

Review Submitted: February 25, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
A lovely villa in a very quiet, residential area of unspoilt Grenada. Description and photos lived up to expectation and the villa was well equipped, clean, well furnished and spacious. English Caretaker was helpful and informative.

Lovely to sit on the balcony and have breakfast or watch the sun go down. Local restaurants and beach within walking distance, although the road is a bit dodgy!

Thoroughly recommendable.

Owner's Response: So glad to read these comments as it proves another satisfied customer who recommends Alegria Villa.
The road does need resurfacing and was started on the government program but was stopped for another more urgent job. We have been told it will be restarted soon.....as typical in Grenada..."No problem"

We stayed here and had a wonderful holiday. The view is so beautiful. What a way to start the day-breakfast on the balcony looking out to sea.
The villa was as it was described and great value for money. The caretaker was helpful and so was the maid in giving us tips of things to do and places to visit. We will recommend to all of our friends and have booked already for next year......cant wait!

Beautiful villa

Review Submitted: May 30, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
This really is a lovely villa, with the view as shown in the picture. The villa is big inside and has a lovely seating area outside. The one bedroom has aircon at an extra cost, also has mosquito nets so you can open the windows. There are some good restaurants nearby including Red Crab owned by English, serving good food with friendly staff; the Monmot Hotel, one of our favourites for food, small friendly restaurant, serving local food overlooking the pool area; the Calabash with Rhodes restaurant, excellent food and service, a bit more pricey than the other two, but worth the extra. These are all within walking distance about 10-15 minutes downhill, but longer uphill which is quite a steep climb and part of the road is not tarmac, but well worth walking to these restaurants. It is reasonably easy to walk to most places, but not suitable for anyone with disabilities or walking problems, in this instance a car would be an advantage. The villa has plenty of facilities to cook and eat a meal on the balcony or inside if required. Walk to the main road and you get the occasional mini-bus passing who will take you to Grand Anse beach for 5 EC dollars which is a lovely beach with more restaurants or if you are feeling energetic you can walk which we did. You can also catch a bus to St Georges.

Owner's Response: The road has improved since this was submitted which is good news for our future guests. There is another bar/restaurant within walking distance with live music and a lobster barbacue on a Friday night and a quiz night on Tuesdays.
