Excellent villa and location

Hagstrum Brighton
Review Submitted: August 22, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We had three weeks here. The villa is lovely, well maintained and spacious. Fantastic sea views from the balcony and we spent quite a few evenings having dinner on the roof. The kitchen is well stocked and we ate in every other night or so.
Has a shared pool but to be honest there was rarely many others in the pool. The kids (aged 4 and 7) loved it. Friendly neighbours as well on all sides.

Mojacar itself has everything. Full of differant great restaurants and a variety of beaches and bars. The village is great as well and we went up there a few evenings for dinner. We went in August and it rarely dropped below 33 in the day but it didn't stop us doing anything we wanted.

A few markets around and we took day trips to Aguilas and San Jose - which were both lovely as well. The water park in Vera is a must for the kids.

All in all a fantastic villa, in a lovely quiet part of a town that has everything. Couldn't rate it high enough!

Owner's Response: Our reviews can seem a little confusing because some clients refer to our property as a 'Villa' or 'Apartment' or even a 'Flat'. The reason for this confusion is because the accommodation is all on the same floor with a double garage underneath and the roof terrace above. The original developer’s description was a ‘Linked Villa’ and the English Dictionary’s definition of a Villa is ‘a holiday home by the sea, usually in the Mediterranean region. I hope this little explanation helps. Roger Lowe Sept 2008.

Unusual design with patio/balcony/sun terrace

BarbaraR West Sussex, England
Review Submitted: October 11, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We have just come back from a very enjoyable week staying in the house pictured above. The property was very clean, had every possible kitchen gadget you could ever want, including a new washing machine and Sky TV, so you could watch all your favourites from home! The back door - which you entered through a patio area - was on ground floor level and opened into the kitchen, through to the dining area and to the lounge which had a large balcony. The balcony was at the front of the house but on a higher level than the back! You could see the sea (and tops of many other properties) and watch the sun set. from this spacious balcony.

The area was very quiet, except for occasional outbursts of barking dogs!, but nothing to shatter the calm and restful feeling of the place. The swimming pool was lovely and we seemed to be the only ones to use it during our stay! About a ten minute walk and you were on the beach and there are a few shops and eateries within walking distance, but you would definitely need a car to go further afield.

We had the contact number for the owners and the 'caretakers' lived next door, so we had no worries on that front but never needed to trouble them.

I would most certainly recommend any of my friends to stay at this property.

Mojacar old village was extremely interesting but if you were looking for other historical places of interest there wasn't a lot in the area. However you are spoilt for choice for places to eat out, and if you're Irish you'll be more than happy! (My husband loves Guinness!!)

So long as you can manage two small steps and have a car to get about in, as the house is all on one level, it would be suitable for people with disabilities.

A perfect place for rest and relaxation and to recharge your batteries!

So much sea...

Dickandjanet Norfolk, England
Review Submitted: May 8, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
My wife, dog and I spent a splendid three months in this house in early 2009. And I am a bit late in writing this review and have just started thinking about next winter! I have to say that this house sets a standard for our search. We are thinking of somewhere different but to be honest would return here otherwise. The house is excellently situated with the most wonderful 240 degree sea views to north, east and south. To the west are the Mojacar hills!
It is well equipped and maintained, clean comfortable and very easy to maintain. The neighbours are excellent and resident. Some are even Spanish.
Mojacar village is a joy, if a bit steep for us oldsters at times and especially for our dog in the hot sun - yes, by UK standard it was a decent winter. The playas are loads better than most Spanish beach resorts and access to the miles of beach is easy out of season. The Cabo de Gata nearby is stunning and so is the Sierra Cabrera. And barring the plastic fields the countryside is a joy.
We are older and so toured around but for a family in season it would be a great place just for beaching it. Loads to do at night if you like that kind of thing, too.
Go on, you'll love it.

We have been to Mojacar at least 8 times in last 4 years, we have tried several apartment's and arrears of Mojacar. This was our second time in this house, The fist time was on our fist visit to Mojacar and i can say this is by far the best equipped accommodation we have stopped in , and will be back again. Its the quieter end ,and as some one already commented its like being home from home but with great weather, views, and surroundings. Also nice to keep up with English tv when you want a night in

'The villa was great. You've changed some things since last time we visited. It was great, well furnished and had all the facilities we needed' W.H. Feb 06. -

'Thanks for the use of your lovely Villa, it was perfect. It made our holiday. We all enjoyed our meals overlooking the sea. All the amenities were clean & functional. Our Son particularly enjoyed that Cbeebie's was available on the TV. The pool was fantastic, our son was in there every day so his swimming has improved. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we had a fantastic holiday. I'm sure we will be back again. I have recommended it already to family & friends. D. C. Aug 06.

Just to let you know we had a great time, your house is so nice and comfortable, we slept soundly, the beds are very comfy. Everything was fine and we left it the same. C.A. Nov. 06.

Thanks for the opportunity of renting your lovely Villa. It was a great holiday & exceeded our expectations. We found it to be a very relaxing place. JJB Sep 07.

Bancal Del Olivo

Jenni W Seaford, East Sussex
Review Submitted: May 15, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2007
From where I live on the South Coast of England, Spain is the perfect place to go for a quick fix of sunshine. The flight is only a couple of hours and on arrival in Almeria you are wrapped in warm air and a relaxed feeling.

I have been using this apartment at Bancal Del Olivo for a number of years both with my husband, girlfriends and my daughter.

Booking is straight forward and professionally conducted with the owners and once at Almeria airport car hire is easy with a selection of companies to choose from.

The apartment has a home-from-home feel, being as the owners also use it a lot and so it is equipped with everything you need, especially if you are self-catering. The bedrooms are comfortable with large wardrobes for storage and there is a central bathroom with together with an additional, separate, toilet.

There is a very large through room which combines the kitchen, dining and seating areas which leads onto a pretty balcony with a table and chairs and looks out towards the sea.

It is only a few minutes walk to the beach. For walkers it is easy to walk along to the Playa Mojacar to the Parque Comercial for supplies or even through the country lanes to the enchanting old village of Mojacar on the hills behind.

I have visited Mojacar seven times and find that in recent years it has become more exciting and vibrant with new shops, cafes and restaurants opening. There are also some good local outdoor markets in Mojacar and the neighbouring villages throughout the week.

Just writing all this down makes me want to fly out again right now!
