Comfortable and quiet villa with pool

Benoît Larmor-Plage, France
Review Submitted: September 22, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Spacious villa with a large garden and a pool. Ideal location for visiting Andalousia (Malaga, Mijas, Marbella, etc.) or for simply resting . Quiet place both daytime and nightime, on a hill (with a little wind which enable to bare the summer heat more comfortabily).
Nice and efficient owners, not intrusive (which is not the case with the cats !). No air-con but portable fans.

I strongly recommend this place (except for people with an allergy to the cats ...).

VILLA APPARTMENT-ALHAURIN DE LA TORRE

Hamsterpoo LEICESTER, UK
Review Submitted: July 31, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Myself and husband and three young children stayed at the villa from 26/6-4/7/09. The pictures and descriptions of the villa and surroundings/ local area were just as Barbara had described. Barbara and her husband were very friendly and helpful. The villa was well maintained and clean. The weather throughout our stay was very hot and we spent lots of time in the wonderful pool and garden, sometimes til very late in the evening where the weather was still beautiful and the views were amazing. It was so peaceful and very relaxing. The local beaches were close by and very clean but you do need to hire a car to get around. Our kids loved this holiday and still talk about Barbara's cats especially Zippy! Overall we had a really enjoyable holiday and would go back again.

Relaxing Break

Potus Plymouth, Devon, UK
Review Submitted: June 4, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We stayed at this property from 23rd May - 31st May. The house is located in a residential area with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The property is exactly as described on the website, our boys made full use of the pool, which was regularly maintained by Dave. The garden is very peaceful, all you hear are the sounds of birds in the trees as you lie on your sunlounger sipping a sangria! I would recommend a car if visiting this property as it is quite a trek down a very steep hill to the town. We picked up a hire car at malaga airport (pre booked via 'Do You Spain') so were able to visit the surrounding area. Note the only supermarket open on a Sunday is 'OpenCor' and is quite expensive, as we arrived late on Sat we had no choice but to use it although Barbara had very kindly left us a starter pack of bread, butter, jam, milk, cakes, tea, coffe and a bottle of bubbly. We stocked up on the Monday at Mercadona, and also used Aldi, these were much cheaper! The beach at Santa Ana, Benalmadena is lovely backed by a walkway with wonderful restaurants, we stopped several times for tapas before leaving the beach, mother in law loved the coffee & brandy for 2euros (triple brandy!) The water park at Torremolinos is excellent the kids loved it we also took a cable car ride up into the mountains, (located next to Tivoli world) - neither that cheap! We eat out several times, once on the seafront at Torremolinos and once in the main square, where there are many lovely restaurants to choose from. You can still pick up a 'menu of the day' for 7 - 8E (two courses) in this area. We took the mountain road from Alhaurin out to Mijas which is a lovely mountain town, with cobbled streets and many restaurants/bars, imagine it would be very busy in the height of the season though! The weather was excellent during our stay and was between 25 and 34, we were still sat outside some nights at 11.30pm. Overall an excellent property located in a quiet area with owners, Barbara and Dave on hand to advise or help in any way.

10 out of 10 for hospitality!

Myself and my family stayed at the appartment from 2nd May 09 to 8th May 09. We were greeted by Barbara and Dave who showed us round the appartment and offered myself and my mom a lift to the nearest supermarket to stock up, which we gratefully accepted. Barbara had already stocked the fridge and cupboards up with basics to 'put us on' until we went shopping. The appartment is very modern, clean and very well equipped. Dave cleans the pool every morning, which my mom and son used regular. The views are outstanding, and me and my son enjoyed our morning runs up the mountain. Barbara and Dave are the most hospitable couple I have ever come across! They offered us lifts whenever they were going out, or asked if we wanted things bringing back, they're also happy to phone for a taxi should you need one. They make you feel so welcome and are there whenever you need them, with a warm welcoming smile on their faces. My daughter, Lexi, warmed to them both and cherishes the little 'cat' toy they gave her. My daughter also left her mobile phone under the pillow, which Barbara is very kindly posting on, and insists on paying for the postage!...So very kind. The nearest bar is a 20 min walk, you will be welcomed with open arms and treated like one of the locals. The weather was amazing during our stay ranging from 25 to 28 degrees. Overall....We are very impressed. I must admit, I have left a piece of my heart in Pinos de Alhaurin and intend to return soon. I reccommend this appartment to anyone wanting hospitality, acceptance and a friendly, warm atmosphere......Great for all the family!

Excellent Villa & Wonderful Owners

Sweetness Manchester
Review Submitted: May 12, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
I came here for my hen do and had the most amazing stay in the villa. Barbara and Dave are fantastic and really made our holiday an enjoyable and stress free time. The villa is gorgeous and the pool and gardens are excellent and extremely well kept. Inside the villa is immaculate and there are some beautiful surrounding views. I would recommend this property to anyone especially families as it is very secluded and private, but not too far from the night life if your looking to venture out. I would definitely stay in the villa again and if possible would like to come back every year not only for a girly holiday but with my husband and family also.

we stayed in this appartment over the easter break for 12 days. The villa was clean and well maintained, the garden was also well looked after and had stunning views. The owners barbara and dave were very welcoming and helpfull, they provided us with a lot of information on places to visit and things to do, they were also very helpfull in arranging a hire/car and booking taxis for us. The weather during our stay was excelllent, the temperatures varied between 23 - 27 degrees, it only rained 1 day for about 2 hours. The bedrooms were good size and well furnished and the kitchen also good size and lots of utensils, the kids loved the pool and were in it almost everyday of the stay, there were loads small shops locally but if you have small children you will need a car as they are a good 20 - 30 minute walk.
Overall this is a great place to stay, and once aghain thanks to barbara and dave for helping us out :)

Nice, quiet holiday.

We stayed in the appartment for a fortnight in Dec/Jan 2008/2009.
The place is clean and well-maintained.
The owners, Barbara and Dave, are helpful and very nice. As my internet connection wouldn't work, I was offered to check my mail any time on Dave's computer.
We hired a car and were able to visit the nearby towns/villages. We were there in winter, so we got 6 days of rain out of 14. As the appartment is really spacious, one doesn't care staying inside on a rainy day.

Fantastic Holiday!

Review Submitted: January 28, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
My girlfriend and I rented this beautiful apartment with a view to exploring southern Spain. We couldn´t have picked a better location as there are plenty of interesting places to visit in the area. The lakes were fantastic- like a mini Canada! The white villages were beautiful and the nearby beaches were great. The beachside restaurants- chiringitos- served excellent food at very reasonable prices. The apartment had everything we needed in a great location. The views from the garden were fantastic. We would denifinately recommend the apartment to our friends and the owners Barbara & Dave made us feel very welcome.

A holiday to remember!

Review Submitted: January 18, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
I stayed in this apartment in January with my wife and our two young children. To be honest, we didn´t really know what to expect, we had never stayed inland, and didn´t have high hopes for the weather.
What a pleasent suprise. Alhaurin is a beautiful, lively town, and even though its classed as inland, it´s only a fifteen minute drive to Torremolinos beach. As for the weather, we lost just one day with some rain, the rest of the week was sunshine.
The apartment itself is truly fantastic. It´s so big, it´s like a home fron home. We had English telly and the net, and the owners, Barbara and Dave are a top couple, nothing is too much trouble.
´We hired a car so that we could explore the area. Plaza Major, just ten minutes up the road, is something special. Imagine an open air mall full of shops, bars, restaurants, cinema, bowling etc etc. Fantastic!
All in all this was a holiday to remember and we hope to return there soon.
