Highly recommended home as a vacation destination

I would like to thank the owner for a lovely visit to a very special part of France. Your home was comfortable, clean and cozy. I love the stone walls. The location is inviting to families and singles. I felt safe residing alone in the lovely home. I enjoyed the proximity to local markets that carried fresh fruits, vegetables, and cheeses. Your home was very near the train station so I was able to take a couple of short trips to Barcelona and Paris within my principle vacation. My walks along the beach were very special. I still smile each time I see pictures of that magical water scape...I would highly recommend your home as a vacation destination if one is considering the South of France.

Thank you,
Jackie C.

Owner's Response: We are so glad Jackie enjoyed herself as everyone seems to in our village vacation rental home and in the wonderful, picturesque area of the South of France. Argeles-Sur-Mer is a charming town, with lots of ammenities, beaches, and a great place for a holiday!

Great House

What a great little house and location! The house was just as pictured on a small, quiet street. The stone walls and stairway really give a feeling of being in an old French chateau. Having a kitchen was so convenient, too. It gave us an excuse to shop at the little grocery markets in the village, and buy our daily baguette, just like the locals! The village of Argeles-Sur-Mer is absolutely beautiful, and it really gives you a chance to experience French living. The beaches are some of the most beautiful I've seen, and the cities nearby - Perpignan and Carcassonne, in particular - were delightful with wonderful history, restaurants and shopping. The Dali museum in Figueres, Spain was spectacular and only about 40 minutes away. We rented a car while there, but be warned if you do, the streets are very narrow, within Argeles, and all the roundabouts take some getting used to - but that's all part of the fun! All in all, it was a wonderful trip, in a darling house, in a wonderful part of the world. I can't wait to go back!

Delightful, charming, wonderful -- perfect!

I spent a month in this wonderful home which was all I expected and much more. It was equipped with everything I needed, including plenty of room and linens for my family and friends who visited. The people in Argeles sur Mer are friendly and accommodating. There were plenty of interesting walks and hikes, including to Valmy, the Tour de la Massane, and Coullioure (where Picasso and Matisse painted). There were easy car/train trips to Barcelona, Carcassonne, Perpignan, and other cities. Our favorite cafe, Noisette, was three blocks from the house; we went there every day for free Internet access. We especially loved the Saturday open air market where we purchased lovely fruits and vegetables . . . and even clothes.

I cannot recommend this home highly enough. The owners were extremely accessible and attentive. Everything was truly perfect.

Overall experience

This lovely efficient yet spacious villa provided everything we needed for a very relaxing week in the sun. We arrived to a clean and welcoming home, in the heart of the old village. The street was quiet yet friendly, and an easy walk to all the ammenities we required and about a 30 minute walk to the beach. The fresh bread, fruits and vegetables were all so close, with the biweekly market starting right at the end of the street. We had a very informative walking tour of the town, provided in English by a local tour office employee. The beach was a favorite spot for our children, and while we were not able to park on the street, lots dotted throughout the town provided the space we required for our large vehicle. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children, and the accommodation was perfect for 6. The owners and property managers were very friendly and helpful.
We would highly recommend this villa for a quiet holiday on the sea, but also for it's accessibility to other attractions including a possible day trip to Barcelona.

Argeles-sur-Mer Village Getaway.

What a fantastic location in the old town. The street market was just a block from the house. Wonderful job done on the remodel of this old home. We especially loved the interior courtyard where we enjoyed most of our meals. Central to all the shops. Our boys like the freedom that comes from staying in a small community.
