This was our second visit to Nice having spent our first time in a rather disappointing hotel. Well what can we say.... absolutely great!! This lovely apartment is so well equipped and slap bang right in the thick of things with all the hussle and bussle of Nice on your doorstep. The apartment was exactly as described on the website and was everything that we had hoped for. The location is excellent with literally everything that you could need on your doorstep. You really are in the heart of the action with so many lovely restaurants and bars to choose from. The beach is literally a 5 minute walk away, past the most fantastic shops on Alphonsse karr,
The apartment is very well equipped, clean and cosy. Everything has been thought of to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We made use of the excellent selection of DVDs on the nights that we stayed in. I would definitely recommend this apartment. It was so lovely to wake up in the morning, open the windows and shutters, and have coffee and croissants from the most amazing Pattisserie accross the road, while watching and listening to life in Nice revving up for the day. Everything has been thought of to make your stay as comfortable as possible
The booking process was straight forward and Jane was very friendly and helpful,We really appreciated the information folder that helped us plan out our holiday
All in all, a perfect way to spend my 30th Birthday. We will definitely return!

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your kind review. It's always so nice and reassuring to know that our guests have enjoyed their stay in our apartment and found that it is equipped to meet their needs and on the doorstep of so many attractions.
Yes, the centre of Nice is an incredibly vibrant place and as you say, you do need to adjust to the local life -style!
With this in mind, our apartment is a great place to stay for a truly Nicoise experience!

a week in Nice

Review Submitted: October 26, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We had an absolutely fabulous break in Nice this summer. The weather was wonderful, and the apartment did just what it said on the tin.

It was spacious, well equipped and comfortable and very conveniently located.

We made good use of Nice's excellent public transport: for the first week we bought a 7-day bus/tram pass for 15 euros. This covered the bus fare from the airport to the town on Day 1, and gave us freedom to explore lots of different parts of Nice and its immediate areas. The apt was very centrally located, and we had absolutely no difficulty in getting to and from bus stops/tram stops.

There is an excellent boulangeries very close at hand across the road. We made good use of this as we did of the many nearby restaurants. We found eating out in Nice this time around was quite expensive, but the apt was extremely comfortable, and sufficiently spacious to make eating in a most pleasurable activity.

All in all, we would thoroughly recommend your apt unreservedly. We'll definitely be going back.

Owner's Response: Well, what can I say? Still only into my second year of renting, I am just overwhelmed at such a marvelous response. Thanks a bunch you two. I am just so pleased you had such a great time, that's what it's all about after all. Look forward to you seeing you next time!!

Excellent city centre base

Review Submitted: October 9, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Having recently returned from a week's stay, I would fully recommend this apartment to anyone seeking a city centre base in Nice.

The location is very central, near to the railway station which permits easy travel both to and from the airport and also along the coastal railway to Cannes, Monaco and Italy. The vibrant city centre with its multitude of shops and restaurants is nearby and the Promenade des Anglais is a 10 minute stroll away through elegant streets.

The apartment itself is very stylish and has been tastefully furnished to compliment the Art Deco features of the building. It has everything you need to enjoy a comfortable stay. Should you wish to eat in, the kitchen is well-equipped but, with so many delightful restaurants on the doorstep, we tended to eat out in the evenings. Breakfast by the large windows, watching the city come to life, was a daily pleasure. The apartment is maintained to a very high standard, extremely clean and well-equipped throughout.

The surrounding area has a good range of shops for one's everyday needs and a choice of cafes, bars and restaurants. Inevitably, given the location, there is some noise both during the day and at night but that is part of city life.

The information provided by the owners was comprehensive and user-friendly; being able to contact them with any questions was a great help.

In summary, we had a great time and so will you!

Owner's Response: I was delighted to receive this lovely review and am particularly happy that the guests felt the apartment met their needs. It seems they really enjoyed all that our apartment has to offer and I hope you will too!

Great accomodation in Nice

Review Submitted: June 26, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
.Nice bright spacious modern apartment in central location, just off main shopping area.

Excellent standard of accommodation.

Only 5 mins walk to the old town for lovely restaurants and to the beach.

We went to Monaco for the Grand Prix on two days, and being so close to the railway station it made the whole experience very enjoyable.

Plenty of museums, art, galleries and shopping all in easy reach.

Perfect for railway station and close to airport.

Apartment is ideally located for all those shopaholics attracted to the best designer labels.

Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay in the Cote d'Azur.

the location is ideal for exploring Nice and surrounding Beauty Spots!!

Fantastic apartment

We have just returned from a perfect week in your apartment on Alphonse karr and would fully recommend it to anyone,
We came away feeling as though we had stayed in a real home in an ideal location rather than just a holiday flat, the view when eating meals is perfect to watch the world go by,
For evenings in, the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need, comfortable sofa with which to watch tv & dvd's on your superb flatscreen tv, great choice of Dvd's too,
Le Tono across the road is excellent for Tapas & drinks mixing with locals at lunch time and in the evening.
Thank you for a Fab week in your apt, your photo's really don't do it justice.

disappointing

Review Submitted: June 20, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
The apartment itself was OK and the position was good, if very noisy. However, the building itself was very disappointing. The communal areas, ie stairwells and corridors, were dingy, dirty and in need of updating, not at all what we expected after reading the description on this website.
Owner's Response: Unfortunately they are at present updating the lifts ( like most Art Deco Buildings in Nice ) to meet new regulations so it can be untidy and dusty at the moment in the communal areas. As regards updating this is a listed building and and as such all of the original features have to remain, which to most people is part of the character, but if its a clinical '80's featureless building that is required then this is not the place for you.
The building is ideally located in the centre of Nice (excellent for walking to cafe's, bar's, restaurants ) which can make it noisy at times, as in Paris, Rome, or Barcelona, but, if its peace and quiet your'e looking for then it is perhaps advisable to holiday in the surrounding countryside.

We have just spent a wonderful and relaxing week in your delightful apartment. We found the apartment to be stylish, comfortable well equipped and in such a Fantastic location ! Right in the heart of town..a real taste of local flavour. With the help of the personal guide book you left us,we found all the locations easily. Using all forms of transport, tram bus and train. The train is the best way to travel to Monte Carlo running along the beautiful coastline. We did bus rides to Antibes,Cimiez and the Matisse museum but the real gem find was the Franciscan monastery and garden not far from the museum. The gardens were full of spring colour and the view amazing.
We sampled all local delicacies buying from the market etc, the pastries, cakes & bread from the Boulangerie just across the road were out of this world.

We have only one request please....when can we visit again?? With thanks Irene

We have just returned from a week in Nice and are already looking to return. This apartment is as fabulous as it looks in the photos with everything you could possibly need for your self-catering holiday, excellently maintained and very clean!
This was our first time in Nice and we found the onward journey from the airport (via bus) to the apartment very easy and straight forward with excellent instructions from the owners. .
The area in which the apartment is situated is ideal,So close to Jean Medicin and the Trams, It is very lively and is full of side streets in which to wander and shop with lovely pavement cafes at which to stop and have a coffee, (which we did frequently). . Catch the bus to Monaco for 1 Euro! The train station is about a 5 minute walk or you can catch the tram to it.
We walked along the Promade des Anglais, around the Port, and I would highly recommend walking up to Colline du Chateau (steps at the top of rue Rossetti). From here there are views of Nice for miles around (if you have trouble walking there is a lift you can take up), really breathtaking.
This was our first time with a private rental and the owners could not have made the process any easier and were always contactable for any query we may have had.
I know you'll enjoy your stay at this apartment.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The location was perfect and we had everything we needed on our doorstep. The public transport in Nice is superb and we didn't need taxis once!
We received a very warm 'bonjour' each morning from the building manager and we loved the Le Tono bar opposite for a nightcap after dinner. It was all very welcoming.
We felt very priviliged as we felt we were actually experiencing more of Nice by staying in such a lovely apartment than in a hotel. Excellent stay.

Visit to Nice 2009

I can thoroughly recommend this very stylish apartment for all sorts of reasons! The location is 1st class for all the activities, transport links, shops, bars & the centre of the Old Town. It was spotless with everything & more you can ask for in a holiday apartment. Lots of added extras which made it more like a proper home than rented property. We managed very well to self cater in the small 'but perfectly formed' kitchen. Lots of equipment although making toast proved a bit of a challenge! The living room was lovely & the bedroom very spacious. The bathroom was very bright, clean & again although small totally adequate for our needs with plenty of piping hot water always available.
The owner gave us perfect written directions to locate the apartment right from Nice Airport which was extremely helpful.
Despite the noise from the traffic outside which did at times keep us awake at night we would recommend this apartment.
Nice is expensive to eat & drink! But I think everyone knows that! The area is beautiful & the transport links with other areas i.e. Villefranche, Beaulieu, Eze (a must!) & Monaco/Monte Carlo made travelling a pleasure.
We had a great walk from the Harbour area managing to find (with difficulty) a path which took us right round the bay past all the little coves with spectacular scenery. A man-made path with concrete blocks situated at certain points for you to rest & enjoy the views. Well worth the search even though you have to re-trace your steps - not a problem.
Half way along just past the harbour on a bend we found a super Take-Away-Sandwich Kiosk. Great value for a picnic sitting overlooking the sea.
All in all a thoroughly good experience in a great apartment.
