Dingle Cottage really is set in a wonderful and tranquil village location and makes for a perfect get away from it all stress free holiday.Loads to do and see locally including some spectacular walks and beautiful countryside.Cattle seem to wander free around the common and golf course, which is great.Ihave just sent my friends away here for a 2 night honeymoon break which they loved. Will be returning myself very soon!

The perfect country escape

Sam, Stew, Glen & Bel. London & South Africa
Review Submitted: June 9, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
Box is beautiful, and Dingle is exactly what you'd dream a cottage retreat in the country to be like... Peaceful, cosy, and very, very comfortable. With everything you need (pots, pans, dishwasher, washing machine), and nothing to distract you (no traffic, no bright lights, not many people), it really is the perfect country escape.

We had a wonderful stay there, and lingered as long as possible on our (sadly) last day. Hopefully, we'll be back again... soon!

lovely weekend retreat

Having really enjoyed my stay at the cottage as part of a hen weekend, a group of friends and I then booked the cottage for an 'escape from London' long weekend. The cottage is very clean, beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The village and surroundings are very picturesque. Steve, the owner, gave us recommendations on what to see/do/eat but aside from the pubs and restaurants we didnt actually get around to doing other activities that apparently on offer - we were far too happy and relaxed at the cottage to need Spa treatments or to try out handgliding! Would thoroughly recommend and hope to return this year.

Dingle Cootage magical getaway cottage

We liked dingle cottage so much we went back a second tome and would do so again. The cottage is set in a picture postcard cottswold village with narrow lanes and typical cottswold stone houses. The cottage looks small from the outside but is spacious and well decorated. The cottage was spotless when we arrived with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable dinning/sitting room area with plenty or reading material on local attractions and a good home entertainment system if you just want to chill out. IIf you are more energetic the surrounding countryside offers plenty of options from gentle country walks to serioud hiking. If you are not into cooking for yourself there are excellent gastro pubs nearby offering a wide selection of food and good local ales.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Dingle cottage to anyone looking to get away from it all for a few days or longer.

Dingle Cottage, a wonderful place to relax...

Dingle Cottage is the perfect place to really relax and unwind. The website gave proper details and real pictures - giving a decent idea of the property. Steve - the owner - could not have been more helpful, not just whilst we were booking, but throughout, including really good directions and lots of handy tips on where to go.

The cottage itself is simply decorated, nicely in keeping with the style of the property and is extremely well maintained and equipped (I personally loved the dishwasher!). The location is lovely too, really quiet, but not absolutely the middle of nowhere, perfect.
Several of our friends have also stayed here on more than one occasion and thankfully recommended it to us.

We really enjoyed the Halfway Inn, good food and really friendly people - it's great to have a restaurant, and pub, so close so there is no need to drive. And the pies at the Weighbridge Inn, well - one has to try them!

Nailsworth (the closest shops) is a great little town, some interesting "thingy" shops along with some really good food shops with local produce - the bakery deserves special mention! Also, Tetbury is not to be missed, one can spend days going round all the antique shops - a real treat.

Finally, any stay would not have be complete without a walk over Minchinhampton Common - not only is it for walking - and the best stunt kite flying we've seen for ages - but it is also a golf course and public grazing for cows - a most interesting combination.

We will most definately be booking our next stay as soon as possible.

A little gem in the english countryside

Vanessa V Chelsea, London
Review Submitted: May 25, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2007
Dingle Cottage is an oasis of tranquility set in the English countryside. I have stayed at the cottage several times over the past few years and have always left feeling refreshed and totally spoilt.

The cottage was always found to be clean, well maintained and presented on our arrival. It is comfortably furnished, tastefully decorated and has a stunning bedroom on the top floor where I have spent several cozy Sunday mornings.

The surrounding countryside offers many attractions if you want to go out and explore or the Half Way Inn at the top of the lane has good food, chilled wine and the occasional passing cow has been known to pop in for a lunch time pint!

I can recommend Dingle Cottage for a peaceful break from hectic city life, a great place to spend lazy Sundays with good friends and to roast marsh mellows on the open fire.

Cosy place to stay

Review Submitted: May 21, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
Dingle Cottage is nicely decorated and the living areas planned out to give space whilst feeling cosy. Bed rooms are all large, spiral staircase / loft ladder provided much amusement for the kids, and somehow the dog scaled both?? Take some time to walk in the woods towards bottom of village, they are unspoilt and beautiful.

Dingle Cottage is just the loveliest place to go and relax and catch up with firends. The owner gave us lots of information beforehand and great maps and directions to help us. Box is s sweet little village with friendly villagers and a pub which did one of the best Sunday roasts I've ever had! The cottage is just beautiful- luxuriously decorated, totally equipped with all you would need- you can just bring yourselves!- and the perfect place to spend quality time with loved ones. We spent Christmas 2007 at Dingle Cottage. The whole family gathered together in this beautiful cottage.Everything was supplied and available to make our stay fantastic even down to a decorated Christmas tree and hamper. Open log fire, excellent amenities and comfortable sleeping arrangements plus long walks and plenty of places to eat out made our stay so enjoyable.
Highly recommended
