Horses, Dogs and Hot tub

Hoping for some winter sunshine we set off for a week in Lanzarote, we did get a couple of sunny days but the rest were chilly, wet and windy. Thankfully there were plenty of interesting places to visit and excellent roads. I would recommend a stop off at Los Hervideros to see the blow holes.
From the airport to Rancho de los Caballos took less than 30 minutes and the final leg is along a well maintained track. The ranch has paddocks on two sides for the horses and vegetable crops growing elsewhere so you are away from it all with a nice view down to the sea in the distance.
Jill, the owner who I had found helpful and prompt in her dealings with our booking, was there to meet us. We also met Jake and Tilly the two Alsatians who live on the ranch with you. Jill comes along each day to feed them and they have beds in the garage and it is entirely up to whoever is staying if you want to let them in the house.
The house has a lived in feel, large lounge, the kitchen has everything you need even cookery books and scales should the urge to cook come over you. I do regret however that we decided to take the two person occupancy rate which only included the double bedroom, we found the room a bit compact for our liking. Being use to a king size bed at home believe me six inches does make a difference (and no we are not overweight), so yes size does matter. The en suite had a corner shower, sink and toilet but for my personal taste lacked a door, still as I found on the first morning while I sat drying my hair at the dressing table you can have a conversation with the person in the bathroom and the mirror acts as a perfect ‘webcam’ so you can even see each other.
The hot tub is great and you can gaze up at the stars at night with only the odd ‘woof’ from the dogs when they spot some imaginary intruder, the twitter of the bats flying around or the gaze of the curious horses over the fence a few feet away to disturb you.
Owner's Response: I am sorry to say that we did have some bad weather that week - it doesn't happen too often fortunately! I am sure the Ranch would have scored a 5/5 again if the sun had come out a bit more. However, nice to know that the guests still had a good holiday even if sun tans were lacking.
To introduce Jake and Tilly the dogs to you - they are rescue dogs from Pals/Sara (a sanctuary here on the island). The dogs have proved to be a great part of many of my guests holiday - being cross collie and husky they are extremely friendly and sociable - part of the family!
Special offer for couples - if there are just two of you then I do give you the opportunity to save some cash and offer you a very good discount but you are only allocated the one double bedroom. The house and garden is still your private space but without the master bedroom. This is great if you just want the location and are not so worried about the overall facilities and would like to save some money.
*******However, if you want a fantastic holiday home from home with the large king size bed, master bedroom and fantastic glass roofed ensuite bathroom where you can see the planes and stars overhead - it really is worthwhile taking the option of all the house - I still offer you a discount for this too, so that couples can enjoy this beautfiul property as well as larger groups of friends and families.
Your privacy is of utmost importance but the horses, dogs and cats have to be fed daily but my presence with the animals takes place in the outer paddocks and fields - I only enter your private garden space if invited for a glass of wine or gin and tonic - not dropping any hints!!!! HA!!!!! I shall look forward to seeing you soon.
p.s. btw it is February and the weather has been stunning - perfect blue skies and fantastic warm temperatures, the countryside is green and the flowers are out - you can't beat it!
Bye for now...............Jill and the 4 leggeds x
