Rustic Relaxation

If you enjoy the advantages of being close to nature, the facility of a beautiful garden full of interesting flowers, fruit trees and wild birds of every description, the Quinta will fulfil your requirements on those days when all you want to do is chill out. The accommodation is a mixture of 'past colonial', a touch of the seventies and rustic Algarvian and the owner will do his best to attend to your needs and requirements.
The beach facilities are not very far away, especially by car, and depending on requirements there are quite a few to choose from, the very large sandy Meia Praia, beautiful Dona Ana or Porto de Mos to name a few. Further afield there are many more with natural surroundings and lots of dramatic character.
Sightseeing of all the rest of the Western Algarve is easily accessable, just a short drive and the new motorway is on hand. For the more adventurous local transport (bus stops) are a short walk away and Tourist Information in the town will provide knowledge of numerous places to visit, historical and activity orientated. Windsurfing and golfing enthusiasts will already be aware of the local facilities in this area.
The Quinta is situated within walking distance of the new and old town of Lagos. Shopping at the local large supermarket will provide anyone with all their requirements on a daily or weekly basis and smaller shops, chemists and a food market is not far away. There are numerous cafe/bar/takeaways and restaurants locally and in the town to suit the palette of the most discerning of tastes, and affordability.
The plate of the day in the cafe/bars is well worth trying and relatively inexpensive for something so tasty. It can range from local fish (seasonal catch) to oven done meat
potatoes all served with local bread and a selection of vegetables or salad. The variety of food and restaurants in the locality is extensive. Special occasions can be celebrated in the renowned upmarket establishments in town and a new one near to the Quinta, the Vintage, is particularly a favourite of ours.
We love this part of the Algarve and have been spending at least one holiday a year in Lagos for more than sixteen years. The town itself has changed, developed, modernised in part, but it still has a distinctive appeal that makes us want to return. This coupled with, for us, the ideal location makes the winter months in the UK more tolerable when we know our holiday is not too far away.
