A review from Denmark

The description was very accurate. Only good surprises ( wine at the table and cold drinks in the frizz)
The housecleaning was very good. And everything was in function – electric equipment etc..
( we did never find the switch to the light in the pool ?)
Kevins service was perfect. Nice talks in the phone. Sending very informative materials about the area. Very good information about his own experience in the area – restaurants etc.
And when we could not find the house, when we arrived – a perfect guiding by phone.
We will recommend this house ( and its owner ) to everyone.
The place is perfect for relaxing and it was what we did, but we went to some of the restaurants in and around Gualdo at Kevins recommendations , and we was not disappointed any time.

This is such a lovely property, tucked away on the side of a hill with wonderful views. It had everything that we wanted, lots of room, peace and quiet, easy access to villages with small cafes for morning coffee and locally grown food, a wonderful pool that is totally private and best of all for us spectacular walking in the mountains.

A wonderful holiday at Casa Dorato, Gualdo

Maz5 Dublin, Ireland
Review Submitted: August 8, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Casa Dorato was all and more of what we were expecting. Six adults in total and yet we all felt we had as much privacy as we needed due to the wonerful layout and privacy of rooms. Downstairs bedroom was handy for one couple who find it hard to use stairs.... The villa has a wonderful old world charm and yet had all the mod cons required for a relaxing holiday. There was a great deal of books for any taste and the dvd library for movie lovers and late night entertaining was excellent. Also the leaflets for all that was going on in the locality really did help. Le Marche is a beautiful region so its well advised to do a bit of reseach before arriving so as not to miss out. Locals speak very little English, but we found the challange of translating enjoyable (bring a dictionary). We brought a sat nav but it is wise to also use the old fashioned map as the region is very hilly and sat nav although will get you there in the end sometimes it was the long way around. We realized this near the end of our stay. The swimming pool was well used by us as we spent alot of our time just relaxing, but the drive to the beach (aprox 40 mins) was well worth. Our favourite restaurant was Gino and Pippas. The food was very good and the home made wine like nothing we had ever tasted, (make sure to ask for home made not bottled). There was an English speaking waiter which was very useful... We also went to a Restaurant in Gualdo (cant remember the name....wonder why????) and although it was very cheap and the starters were excellent it was let down by the fact the meat was extremely tough...If you fancy take away pizza San Angelo has a fantastic take away (bring your dicionary) and unbelievable prices, for 6 people (3 of which were hungry men) under €20... We will all return one day soon, we had a fantastic relaxing holiday.

Casa Dorato

"I’ve had the pleasure of staying at Casa Dorato on a number of occasions spanning a period of over fifteen years and have always thoroughly enjoyed the experience, indeed I was a guest of the house before it had it’s very pretty swimming pool installed. Also the fact that one is not overlooked by neighbouring properties allowing one to do one's own thing I found a definite plus point.

For me, a holiday in Italy must be a chance to sample not only the many and varied treasures this wonderful land has to offer but also an opportunity to meet with the local people and try out my basic Italian. Casa Dorato fits the bill perfectly.

This is because one could not describe this pleasant house as simply a holiday home. Rather, this is a ‘real’ Italian home, set amongst friendly Italian farmers simply going about their daily business but always ready to pass the time of day. For a city dweller like myself I find it a perfect antidote to the stress of living the hectic lifestyle many of us are obliged to live.

I should also mention of course, the Sibillini Mountains. There are some fabulous walks ranging from an easy stroll to as tough as you’d wish for but all with breathtaking views. Take a picnic and a bottle of wine when you go and expect to be greeted by everyone you pass.

The Adriatic coast is easily reachable with it’s warm sea, safe beaches and first class fish restaurants. You really must promise yourself you’ll go at least once. Don’t worry that you don’t really like fish – neither did I until I’d eaten fish here. The unassuming nature of these unspoilt seaside towns with their distinctive Italian atmosphere will delight you.

We had a wonderfull relaxing time at Casa Dorato in early June 2008. We were holidaying with another family and found the property just as described it was ideal with the two lounges the kids looked after themselves while we tended to stay in the other lounge. Days where spent lazing around the pool having fun and not worrying about disturbing the neighbours. So many places to eat in the evening, lots of places to eat al fresco, and we just caught the end of the strawberry season. The house was not luxurios but suited us ideally it had everything we needed. The owners supplied us with lots of information before the holiday and there was plentyof info at the house. When we arrived it was neat and clean and the beds arranged as we had asked. All the locals we met were ever so friendly and helpful. A trip to the coast is a must we went to Porto San Giorgio and spent the day on the beach after a shower we went to a local restuarant and had a seafood dinner the Spaggetti al scoglio was mouth watering I think the name of the restuarant was Alta Marina. We did plan to go hot air ballonning but the only day we could go it was a bit windy so maybe next time? Would love to go back it was ideal for us.

Our family holiday

Review Submitted: February 9, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2008
A lovely comfortable house which was very easy to live in - everything you need but quite unpretentious. A great deep pool and surrounding patio with plenty of garden furniture and a sunny aspect. Amazing views and a nice covered eating area overlooking the pool and hillside views. The sea is even visible on a clear day!
The region around the house is beautiful - hills, woods and views abound and it is wonderfully unspoilt and feels very untouristy and typically Italian. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Can recommend for a relaxed holiday in a lovely undiscovered part of Italy.

my holiday at Casa Dorato

I give casa Dorato 5 for excellent because we enjoyed ourselves there so much. We were pleased with the discription and the cleanleness and the owners left plenty of usefull info. We spent lots of our time lazing around the pool and eating out at the hundreds of nearby places to eat. The Marghighan restaurant and Pipos and Gabriellas where spot on. My girlfreind and I will never forget swimming in the pool at night having a drink and looking up at an ink black sky with millions of stars, very romantic. One day we decided to go shopping down at the coast and were surprised at the sophisticated shops in Civtanova, also the large supermarket complexes at Macerata and Civitanova where worth visiting. My family from Poland joined us for the second week and where amazed at the wonderful views from that area. Poprostu trzeba tam jechac klimat nieziemski cala ta atmosfera, ludzie do okola to wszystko tworzy niesamowity klimat polecam naprawde . Wielkie podziekowania dla Kevina :)

A wonderful holiday

This villa is truly idyllic. We spent a gorgeous two weeks here. The views over the valley are truly stunning.
Among other places, we visited the two quaint villages nearby with plenty to see and many restaurants to choose from. All the ones we tried were excellent.
The neighbouring farmer, Pepo and his family are really friendly and although they don't speak a word of English, we somehow managed a conversation! They proudly showed us their animals and let the kids enjoy them.
The pool is super and we spent many a happy hour around it and in it. From the raised portico in the evening we watched the bats swooping down with the pool lights on.
We would more than recommend this place for a truly peaceful holiday. The scenery, the tranquillity, the joy.
