October 2009

Very clean and well equipped property with an excellent roof top terrace with enough chairs, tables and recliners for all the family - no more rushing to get your towel on a sun bed first thing in the morning !

The terrace has sun all day round and despite the fact we went the last week in October the weather was superb with temperatures in the mid to late 20's all week.

Its been said on other reviews how useful the shopping trip is and I would second that. Its only 5 minutes by car but too far to walk back with the shopping and you save money.

There are a good selection of bars and restaurants within a hundred yards and the beach is only 10 to 15 minutes walk.

The owner could not be more helpful and it all lends itself to a trouble free relaxing holiday.

I would recommend it to anyone and we will certainly be looking to return

Owner's Response: Thank you Steve & Pat.
We want our guests to feel valued, and therefore we added the shopping trip. It only takes about an hour...usually.
This also gives our guests the opportunity to find out about the area and be able to plan their stay.
It also saves them some money.

We look forward to seeing you in the future.

My family and I had an ideal 5 day break here. We were picked up by Tony Hall and given a quick tour with the supermarket trip( which was very useful) and then taken to the apartment. My wife and I and my 3 daughters( 5,9 and 11) were very comfortble there. The beach is superb and a short walk away. The temperature was ideal for our stay( in mid October) and the sea was very warm!
There is a wide range of local restaurants that cater for families. The bus routes were very good if you wanted to visit nearby towns and cities and we did not need a car or indeed miss one!
All in all highly recommended and thank to Tony for his friendly attitude and helpfulness.

Owner's Response: Thank you Guy & Sian for your review and custom.
We like to go the extra mile to ensure our customers have a well earned break. The round trip tour ensures that you get your bearings from the start and allows you to plan your week. For example, where you might like to eat or visit. And during your stay, we are available, should any
problems arise.
thanks again.

THANKS Tony & Sue your description of the Villa is what you said it was, nice clean and comfortable, tony was very helpfull in every way if anything is needed he would deliver i would recomend this property to people who want to have a nice quiet time in the sun the swiming pools are exelent, and the pubs and resteraunts are close to walk to
but myself would reciomend a car if you want to see other places as the busses are time consuming but the bars and resteraunts are quite good we enjoyed are time there
in July came away with a good tan regards Alf & Mags.

Owner's Response: We maintain the Apartment to a high standard and replace any items which need to be.
The area does have some great places to visit, and queing for buses is not my favourite pastime either, but they are cheap in comparison to car hire.
Thanks for the review Alf and Mags.

The beach road footpath is getting a facelift, and there are now two walkways down to the sea across the dunes.

Hope to see you in 2010.

Tony met us at the airport and we were at the apartment 10mins later. Exactly what we wanted. No long transfer so you can relax and unwind in no time!
We unloaded then were taken straight to the large supermarket to stock up. One tip..stock up well if you havnt got a car because it is quite a walk (as my husband discovered few days later!) especially in the 40deg heat we had during our stay. There is a small supermarket up the road, which was fine for daily bread, etc, but not as much variety and obviously more pricey.
The apartment is lovely. Exactly as described. We had exceptionally hot weather during our stay,as I said earlier, 40 plus some days, which did make it difficult to sleep some nights. We kept fans on constantly at night, which did help.
We went to the beach once, but our kids prefer the pool.It is only a 10min walk, but a bit longer to actually got onto the flat sand. Its very nice though.
The bars and resteraunts were all good and fairly reasonably priced.
Tony reccomended Tres Besos for our 15yr olds birthday, which is a Dutch owned Resteraunt. It was lovely, very well cooked food and presented really nicely.Little more expensive but nice for a treat!
Overall,we had a great time.
Thanks again Tony and Sue. Hope to see you again sometime.

Owner's Response: Thank you Julie for your custom.
The complimentary supermarket trip is something we have always done for our guests. It gives them a good start and saves them some money.
I believe that we are the only people doing this service.
The beach access is being improved, as a new decking style walkway is in construction, this is the second one on the beach, and it saves trudging through the sand.
The weather has been exceptionally hot, apparently, the hottest July for 40 years. Even the pool is like a warm bath.!!

we booked this apartment at easter, tony the owner could not have been more helpful, he had got us some basic food items in as we did not arrive till fairly late. he then caled for us the next day so we could go to the supermarket to stock up.the appartment was clean ,tidy, well stoked with everything you could need in the kitchen, fantastic views from both the inside and off the roof terrace, it is in a secure complex so we had no worrys about the children playing outside. iwould recommend this appartment to almost anybody great value for money. another bonus is its only 10mins from the airport.

Well worth another stay

Review Submitted: February 24, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
Everything as described, great place to stay.
The apartment was clean and well looked after and Tony is a very nice, honest and reliable person--who looked after us very well on our first day.
We only went away for a quiet break and to have a look around with a veiw to possibly moving over.
The area is very clean and tidy and the locals are all very friendly.
There is a bus route to Alicante at the top of the road, which is only a five minute walk from the apartment, and the journey only takes 15-20 minutes to the centre of Alicante.
The beach is right beside the bus stop.
There are bars (and Restaurants) at the end of the complex---very handy!!! Local Vodka is very cheap, not too sure what it has done to my insides though!!! But worth every cent of the 4 euros!!!!!
All in all, a very pleasurable eleven days were spent there and would highly recommend Tony, the apartment and area to anyone

CHRISTMAS 2008

Review Submitted: December 30, 2008 Date of Stay: December 2008
This really is a fantastic apartment to go and spend your holiday. It has everything you could possibly need and if there is something you really cant do without Tony will soon sort it out for you. It was quiet but i did expect this being christmas week still 5 or 6 bars/restaurants open the PHOENIX is a must. Tony's meet and greet was great as was the trip to the supermarket.

BOOK UP AS SOON AS YOU CAN YOU WON'T REGRET IT.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: Thanks Sue.
The Phoenix is just one of the sensibly priced restaurants on our local strip.
I guess that what I am saying is, in today's economic climate, the self-catering holiday apartment rental is still a viable option to get a break. We are flexible on changeover days, even in peak season, to allow you to get the best bargains on flights. We also welcome the short break stays, great for when you have a Special Occasion and would like to treat the better half.

Short Stay Gran Alicant

DKNY Haverhill,UK
Review Submitted: December 23, 2008 Date of Stay: December 2008
Good clean and comfortable.
The meet and greet with Tony is a good start for the holiday.
One or two good local bars/restaurants.
Only stayed for a short break any longer would need a car.
Good local taxi service.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing
Owner's Response: Good, Clean and now even more comfortable with heating in every room for those chilly evenings and mornings.

In December it is fairly quiet, so you would be better off hiring a car and exploring during the day, as lazing by the pool or on the roof terrace is not really viable.

It is still reasonable weather here in December, compared to the UK, and when you find a sun-trap it is fabulous!

Some of the bars have shut for their holidays, but there is still several to choose from.

I hope Carol enjoyed her complimentary Cava for her birthday.

Thank you.
