Wonderful Place for a true French Holiday

Egret Bay North Carolina, USA
Review Submitted: October 30, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
My Husband and I along with two friends stayed at this delightful home for two weeks. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about the home or the owner, Nicole.

We have rented many times in different countries throughout the world and found this lovely setting to be the best yet. There was nothing lacking in amenites. The owner is there if you need help but otherwise is not intrusive in any way. There is a large super marche just down the road as well as an excellent boulangerie closer yet. The kitchen is well appointed which gave us the opportunity to cook our evening meal using the wonderful outdoor market offerings. In addition you are close to Sarlat but away from the hustle bustle and noise of a large town.

Each day we planned a different day trip and after two weeks felt we had left many stones unturned which only calls for a return visit.

Nicole is a warm and inviting lady who delights in making your time at her home a rewarding experience.

Such a good experience, I don't want to share the knowledge. Very clean, with nice appointments and furnishings. Very thoughtful owner, with food waiting to be had after a long trip. Quiet, rural setting with quick access to hwy leading to interesting sites. Bypasses Sarlat traffic. Local bakery just down the country road and a major grocery 5 minutes away. Very pretty garden and green area surrounds pool. Please don't takes my weeks, now you have all the good news.

As good as it gets!

An absolutely superb holiday experience. This property is furnished and equipped to a very high standard and the garden and pool area is simply delightful. What makes it stand out from other holiday rental properties is the fact that there are no 'Do and Don't' instructions, the owners clearly prepared to trust their guests to respect and maintain the facilities provided. The magnificent city of Sarlat is only a few minutes away and we even discovered a quiet back road route into town to avoid the queues on busy market days. A car is, however, quite essential, as is a knowledge of French, as Mme Pouget, the owner, speaks little English. This was our fourth successive holiday in the Sarlat area and we have once again enjoyed it immensely, so much so that we have re-booked for next year. What better recommendation can there be than that?

Perfect Holiday Destination

Exhausted Mum Mansfield, Nottinghamshire

We were a bit apprehensive after booking over the internet -things are sometimes misleading, however, the villa met its spec in every way. We were given a warm welcome from Nicole who had thoughtfully provided fruit and some basic foods to tide us over. I can definitely say this is the best equipped villa we have stayed in (there have been quite a few over the years). Couldn't fault its position - totally private pool and garden. Lots of things to do in the surrounding area for teenage girls - loved the karting and Air Parc. Would I come again? Most definitely.

Paradise in the Dordogne

The REV. Ryton, Tyne & Wear, England
Review Submitted: May 21, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We received a warm welcome from Nicole who was most kind and generous. The house which was spotlessly clean was comfortable and beautifully furnished and was equipped with every facility. The garden is beautiful and the pool irresistible and the house is set in glorious countryside just two miles outside Sarlat. We had a wonderful holiday and would certainly reccomend it to all our family and friends

Perfect in every way!

I can not say enough wonderful things about this vacation rental. It is perfectly located near the town of Sarlat (The drive to town is less then 5 minutes) and many of the major sites in the Dordogne region.

But what makes it so special is the beauty of the surroundings and the hospitality of Nicole. Not only did Nicole welcome my mother and I with food waiting for us in the kitchen, but she also treated us like family (you know this is someone special when you don't speak the same language as them!)

The house itself is spacious and beautifully decorated and I can not even describe how fantastic the view is. Every amenity you can think of is available for your use, from a hairdryer to a books. This extra thoughtfulness on Nicole's part really made a difference for us. It is so nice when you are craving morning coffee to find a coffee maker awaiting you! I truly could not have imagined a better place to stay and of our entire trip, this was hands down our favorite. The environment is so relaxing. Simply put, I felt so lucky to be there.

Thanks so much Nicole and to my fellow travelers: enjoy (I am so jealous of you! :) )

Oh and visit the casino supermarche in Sarlat to get your food to cook. That place alone was worth the trip to France. How I wish we had supermarkets like that in the states!

Beautiful house, clean and superbly equipped, lots of thought put into guest's comfort and enjoyment. Perfect location for visiting both Sarlat and the local 'must - sees' without having to go through the traffic jams in town. Peaceful and pretty surroundings for walks. Owner charming, helpful but discreet. Would definitely return and recommend it highly.

Well situated with easy three/four kilometres drive from Sarlat. Comfortably furnished, maintained with care and including delightful personal touches. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere, with very helpful and unobtrusive owners. Spacious accommodation, well equipped kitchen and a number of pleasant dining and lounge areas. A lovely pool, a pity not heated for autumn and spring swimming.

Faultless Accommodation in a Beautiful Location

susie12 Birmingham, England
Review Submitted: September 4, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We spent a fantastic week at Pech Pinet- without doubt the best holiday home we've ever stayed in, and very good value. The house was beautifully furnished, well-equipped and very clean. The pool area was very quiet and private, and there was a lovely south-facing terrace with great views. Nicole was very friendly and helpful, and made us feel extremely welcome. This is the perfect base for visiting Perigord- all the major sites are within easy reach (Domme, Beynac, Roque Gageac etc.), and Sarlat centre is about 2 or 3km. We would thoroughly recommend this property, and can't wait to return.

Places we visited: Sarlat market- very impressive ( and the town is beautiful at night when lit up), Beynac village and castle, Chateau des Milandes (former home of Josephine Baker, beautiful fairy-tale castle), Belves (hilltop medieval town with great value restaurant 'Le Home'), Domme ( very busy in high season, but lovely in the morning, nice grottoes, breathtaking views), Jardins de Marqueyssac (again, great views from a belvedere, woodland walks, nice restaurant), Jardins d'Eyrignac (formal gardens with lovely cafe), Roque Gageac & 'Gabare' ride, canoeing on the Dordogne, Chateau de Castelnaud, picturesque village of Limeuil (at the confluence of Vezere and Dordogne rivers). All the above places were no more than a 20 minute drive from the gite.
