Fab location!

This charming studio is ideally situated in the old town where restaurants, cafes, food markets and so on are on your door step. You can walk to the port, the beach or at the top of the castle garden where you get the most fantastic view of Nice and the bay.An ideal romantic getaway!
Owner's Response: Cinamon must be right about an 'ideal romantic getaway'. My husband's daughter's boyfriend proposed to her while they were staying at the apartment. They walked to the fountain on Castle Hill where he got down on his knees (he would - he's French!), said the magic words, then produced the ring. It fell into the fountain, which was in full speight that day. He managed to rescue it, though. He would! They celebrated their second wedding anniversary last month.

Bijou Nice Studio

Review Submitted: September 30, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
This is the place for you if you like to divide your time between sea, sun, culture and soaking up authentic local atmosphere. Five minutes from the sea in the traffic-free old town, you can watch - from the delightful 3rd floor balcony (sunny from morning til about 2pm) the locals going about their lives; the only noise is the 7am and 7pm church bell chimes and the occasional baby or dog. Within minutes are more restaurants -dear and cheap - than you could patronise in a month. Any over indulgence of food or drink however, will more than be offset by the cardio-vascular workout you'll get climbing the steep stairs to this charming little hideaway!! Pack light! The studio is pristinely clean and extraordinarily well equipped, even down to umbrellas -both rain and sun ones! The sofa bed is very comfortable. The whole process of booking, payment and return of deposit, was made stress free for me by the efficient and friendly communication of the owner Jennifer. Sit on the balcony and enjoy!

IN the midst of Vieux Nice

Val/Gordon Co Durham
Review Submitted: July 7, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We all know that Nice is very special, but to be right in the heart of it in a delightful studio with a sunny balcony for most of the day was everything we hoped for. Eating al fresco in wonderful balmy temperatures was what it is all about for us. Want to be there right now!
Owner's Response: I'm really pleased that Val and Gordon found what they were looking for in our apartment in Nice Old Town. When my partner (now my husband) Dave and I bought the place over 12 years ago, I remember insisting that it had to have a sun terrace with two large French doors opening out on to it. At first, Dave was dubious, thinking of the extra expense. I got my way! And is he glad now.... The Old Town can be a bit vis-a-vis, as the French would say; that is, overlooked by your neighbours, but the outlook from our balcony is towards a listed church building, now converted into a cultural centre for classical music.

Fantastic Studio in Old Town

Review Submitted: May 21, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
This beautiful old studio turned out to be even more perfect than the photographs and description suggested. I had a great week & recommend making full use of the balcony for eating, reading or just watching the world go by. Just 2 minutes walk from the bus station which itself is 25 minutes & 4 euros from the airport, there are numerous great value restaurants, cafes & shops on its doorstep but despite being so central, the street is still very quiet at night.

The studio was imaculate upon arrival, everything provided as per the advert and the owner's directions and instructions were spot on. Dealing with Jennifer was very easy & she was very helpful and quick to answer any questions.

I'll definitely be going back and would highy recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in what i think is one of the best parts of Nice. The studio and the street have loads of character (a thousand times better than staying in some faceless hotel) and where else can you catch a bus to Monaco at the end of your street!
Owner's Response: It's great to know that Chris enjoyed himself so much. Posting that the studio was even better than my description makes me think that I may have missed a trick there somewhere! Anyway, we think, like Chris, that our studio is in the best part of the Old Town - being in a pedestrianised street and away from the noisy touristy bits, but only 5 minutes walk from the Promenade and the sea. What Chris doesn't say about the bus to Monaco (and all those great places along the Cote d'Azur - Antibes, Menton, Cannes and Monte Carlo) is that it only costs ONE euro to get there.

Hübsches Apartment in perfekter Lage

Review Submitted: April 27, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
Empfehlung!

Outstanding studio in the best location possible.

Great Location, near everything, just steps to markets and best restaurants. We coundn't have asked for a better value or an easier person to work with. Great directions were provided. Everything was as described down to the smallest details. While the studio is small, it feels much bigger than it is because of the terrace and what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in charm. I highly reccomend it and I hope to return next year. Pack light and the stairs will be no problem. WE loved this place! Ann & Olney

Nice, Vieux Ville, Studio

Review Submitted: April 4, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
A lovely light and airy studio located in a quiet but very convenient corner of the old town. Only a short stroll needed to reach the town centre, with it makets, the port or the Promenade des Anglais. There are numerous good restaurants close by and shops galore and the locations is only about 5 mins walk from the bus terminus which serves the whole area. The main room is a good size with two sets of double doors opening onto the sunny balcony - perfect for meals. Well equipped, it includes a large shower room and comfortable folding bed. Very well prepared for our arrival even down to the primroses on the table. Friendly and helpful owner. (Watch out for the steep staircase though!).
Owner's Response: It's great to know that Peter liked the studio and made the most of what Nice and the surrounding area have to offer. Also it's most flattering to be called 'friendly and helpful'. We do try! He obviously made full use of the wonderful bargain that travelling from Nice by bus/coach is: for those of you who haven't yet been let into this amazing local secret - you can get along the coast and up into the hills behind Nice for just one euro.

Room at the Top!

oggi East Sussex
Review Submitted: April 4, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
Really enjoyed this short break in the warm spring sunshine and radiant blues of the Mediterranean. Perfect to be in the old town, just a stone's throw away from the bus station, so very easy to get there from the airport and take trips along the coast. Lots of little shops nearby selling all sorts of lovely food and lots of restaurants too. The studio is a rustic, friendly space with a balcony overlooking the small, pedestrianised streets and the most comfortable sofa bed we've ever slept on! Wonderful to sit on the balcony having breakfast, where we were visited every day by a pair of doves expecting a biscuit. Everything worked - masses of hot water, gas hob - and the flat had been nicely cleaned and prepared for us. Stairs up to the flat are quite steep, so small suitcases are better than large. Highly recommend the walk up the hill to the site of the old citadel for morning coffee, but just strolling along the Promenade des Anglais is a joy on a sunny day. Great way to unwind. Recommend it.
Owner's Response: Oggi has made several attempts to book the apartment in the past. But always at the last moment and therefore too late, as the place has already been booked. But this year, it worked. I happen to know she's a very busy lady and what she's looking for is a completely relaxing time. It looks as though she found it this time.

Old Town Nice Apartment

chrispduck London
Review Submitted: November 9, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We had a really lovely week in the apartment. The location is great, in a quieter part of the old town. The highlight was the wonderful balcony where we spent most of our time when in the apartment. The apartment itself is quite small but is more than adequate and I'm sure that most people would prefer to explore Nice or sit in the sun on the balcony than spend there holiday sitting indoors!

The apartment was easy to book and the owner provided us with lots of useful info on the local area. The only down sides are the steep steps up to the apartment, which may be a problem for some people, and some may prefer a proper bed to a sofa bed, however, it was comfortable. Overall, the apartment was great and is reasonably priced.
