Excellent apartment in first-class location

Review Submitted: May 20, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
Very clean and nicely furnished with good maid service. Comfortable beds, lovely views from the balcony and plenty of useful information in the thoughtfully compiled folder. We were very comfortable here and would have no hesitation in recommending it as a first-class location and relaxing holiday venue.

We found the Perfect Place.

The apartment is superb. Beautifully furnished and so comfortable.
Two settees on the private terrace were ideal for serious sunbathing
Or just relaxing and reading. The bedroom has large fitted wardrobes
And a fabulous walk in shower room. The kitchen has every appliance
you need but we ate out quite a lot.
The large pool and tropical garden had plenty of sun loungers and chairs and umbrellas
In the gardens. You can always find shade under the trees.
Within short walking distance to the beaches supermarket shops and local buses.
Doris detailed notes were a great help in finding places.
It was fun on the local buses but we hired a car for a few days to go round the
Island and found the East Coast scenery fantastic but we prefer the West Coast Golden View is superbly situated. Quiet and away from the highway traffic
Holetown is definitely the most convenient place you walk on the beaches for miles
Have a rum punch at a local beach bar and get the bus back.
Lots of restaurants to choose from Tides at the bottom of the road is a great fine dining experience but Zacchios and the Beach House are both on the water
Then there is Surfside a local beach bar and the food is good.
Lots of restaurants and bars on First Street where we met the locals.
The Barbadian’s
Have got to be the friendliest people in the world very helpful and very proud
of their island.
We enjoyed a luncheon cruise on Tiami where we swam with the Turtles.
Then we went to the bottom of the ocean on the submarine a great experience as I don’t dive.
Whilst we were there it was the Open House Season where several large mansions are open for the National Trust very interesting. Then we went to Polo a great social
afternoon out in Barbados which we really enjoyed.
We enjoyed our morning walks around the Sunset Crest Estate where we saw the monkey’s and so took a banana the next day, but then you need to take a few bananas as you will be feeding one monkey then the whole family will suddenly materialize.
Monkeys come into the garden at Golden View usually in the early morning.

We enjoyed fabulous sunsets from our private balcony whilst enjoying a glass of wine.

This year’s holiday was in a word fantastic. We’ll be back.

We enjoyed our stay immensely, the apartment was very nice and great value for money. The location of the propety was excellent, it is in a quiet location but is close to the beach and a 5 min walk from a dozen resturants in Holetown. We will look to stay here again.
Owner's Response: Pleased you enjoyed your holiday and look forward to meeting you again.

Great value, location and convenience

Beautiful apartment. Just the right size - perfect for two or even three adults if one doesn't mind bunking in the living room. Lovely verandah (4th floor) with a great view overlooking the pool and the very well manicured lawns as well as a spectacular view of the sunsets. Nicely furnished, kitchen well equipped. Building is well maintained with approporiate and friendly support staff. Apartment is centrally located - walking distance to Supermarket and Sunset Crest shopping area. Easy access to public transportation if necessary. Chinese restaurant and bar on the premises is very convenient, and a number of other restaurants in close proximity if you choose to venture out. Jus' Grillin at the Chattel Shopping Village is a nice place to chill out and enjoy a good meal, and Chefettes, also nearby, is always a good place to grab a quick roti and other inexpensive fast food. Doris' detailed handbook is an invaluable source of information not only about the apartment itself, but about how to get around, places to go, things to do and other useful titbits. We'll be back!!!
