Heavenly France

The Bergholt Frenchies West Bergholt
Review Submitted: September 24, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Julie and I love France, but we adore Fleur de Lys!

If you're are looking for a high quality romantic "getaway from it all" holiday then look no further than Fleur de Lys.

Like most people we look forward to our holidays and always have high expectations once we've made our discerning choice. Fleur de Lys, courtesy of Ken and Liz, exceeded our expectations and some.

With an abundance of places to visit; whether it be sightseeing, eating and drinking or simply resting in the beautiful sun-drenched gardens you really couldn't wish for more - well you could actually...living there permanently, but Ken and Liz would have to say something about that!

The experinence and feel that Ken and Liz have created exudes quality and charm and if you can't relax and unwind here you can't do it anywhere.

Exceptionally well-appointed and clean accomodation with everything you need with Ken and Liz always there, if needed, ready to help you in anyway they can.

France at it's rustic and beautiful best and we wholeheartedly recommend it!

We would recommend this holiday destination unreservedly. The location was tranquil and we had everything in the accomodation that we could possibly have wanted. Ken and Liz were the perfect hosts - helping us choose where to go/eat with succinct instructions and keeping the property in excellent order yet still maintaining that home from home feeling.

Le Fleuve is a little bit of heaven

Fiona and Joe Dublin Ireland.
Review Submitted: August 4, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Ken and Liz were the perfect hosts during our weeks stay at Le Fleuve in July of this year (2009)- they have created the perfect blend of privacy while being available to book restaurants, offer advice on sight seeing and local history. The cottage itself is wonderful, with gorgeous rooms (we especially loved the large living/dining room) exposed beams and such a warm and inviting atmospthere. Sitting outside having our breakfast/lunch and sunning ourselves in the private garden was idyllic. Lovely villages nearby but we also
took advantage of Ken and Liz's list of things to see a little "further out" and packed in a lot during our week.
We are looking forward to returning and would highly recommend as a place to stay. Go and enjoy the beautiful countryside and location - a must see and a guaranteed place to relax!

Holiday at Les Frippieres

Review Submitted: August 1, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
A lovely peaceful holiday in the most beautiful accommodation we've ever found. Our hosts Ken and Liz were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was beautiful, immaculately clean, equipped with everything one could want, a gorgeous garden to sit out in, under the trees, admiring the view and a lovely pool to cool off in, at the end of a hard day's sightseeing. There are plenty of good restaurants in nearby villages. Wonderful!

Simply the Best

My husband and I have just returned from one of the best holidays that we have ever had in France. We generally holiday in France three times a year and this property along with the fantastic hospitality of Ken & Liz far surpasses any other properties that we have stayed at.
The property was immaculate, tastefully decorated and Ken & Liz went out of there way to make us feel at home. Fortunately we hadn't planned a lot of sight seeing as we were quite happy to while away our time in the beautiful garden relaxing with a good book.
The surrounding area makes for wonderful cycling, being that there are very few cars and the countryside is beautiful.
Live like a local and visit some of the markets for great local produce. In particular the one at Descartes on Sunday and the Wednesday market at Loches.Great authentic french restaurant nearby in Chambon well worth a visit.
We will definately return in the future.

Les Frippierers - Fleur de Lys 13th-27th Sept 2008

Mick and Jeannie United Kingdom
Review Submitted: September 28, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
Simply the best holiday we have had in France, great location where you can leave the car and get on your bike and cycle the traffic free roads and explore the many rivers and brilliant picnic spots in the local area. Lovely little villages all within easy reach, the market at Loches is a must, as are the gardens at Villandry. Having said that, nothing compares with the cycle ride alongside the disused railway line from Chaumussay to Etablau and on into Grand Pressigny to pick up your bread, the valley is simply stunning. Thanks Ken and Liz for an absolutely wonderful time, we will be back. Kind regards, Mick and Jeannie.

Tranquility & Beautiful Cottages

Steve & Jackie Stourbridge, West Midlands, England
Review Submitted: September 27, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
This was our second visit to Les Frippierers - having had such a great time there in 2007. We have stayed in La Lune and Fleur De Lys - both are beautifully furnished, the kitchens well equipped, the properties are very clean, the gardens are well maintained and Ken & Liz are great hosts, nothing is too much trouble.

It's a great place to go whether you want to just kick back and enjoy the very peaceful and tranquil surroundings of the gardens and the pool or whether you want to go and explore the local markets, towns and chateau etc.

It is a bonus having Ken & Liz on sight as they know a lot about the local area, from which chateau are the best to visit, places to eat and even can recommend a few wines to sample!

The welcome pack of goodies in the cottage is a really nice touch.

We will definately be returning for another visit and would recommend to other people.

My husband and I had the most relaxing two weeks staying in Fleur de Lys. The accommodation, pool and gardens were all to a very high standard, fully equipped and well maintained. Ken and Liz were the perfect hosts. Wonderful resturants nearby and amazing Chateau's.

Why did we have to come home....

The Perfect Retreat!

Philpot Leicestershire
Review Submitted: September 14, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Les Frippieres this summer- from the tranquil and picturesque setting, to the beautiful and stylish cottage we stayed in. Much time was simply spent relaxing in the heated pool, or lounging in the cottage's private garden. We made good use of the barbeque- purchasing delicacies from the local market! There were a multitude of interesting things to do in the local area- from river swimming, to visiting the nearby Chateaux and fine vineyards of the Loire! Thank you Liz and Ken for your wonderful hospitality- we shall certainly be back. Phil and Rebecca- Leicestershire.

5* Cottages in 5* setting

rdl england
Review Submitted: August 30, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped, and we enjoyed the amount of space we had, especially the garden where we have plenty of privacy. We didn't use the living room as much as we might but it was very peaceful and furnished elegantly. The heated pool was lovely (shame we didn't have better weather, but we used it every day nevertheless!). Thanks for the use of the bikes and for the bubbly which we enjoyed when we arrived.

Your hospitality was much appreciated and we enjoyed meeting you both. Another time perhaps? We'll certainly recommend Les Frippieres to friends.
