Could Not Wish for Better.

Review Submitted: September 13, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Have just spent a week at Kingfisher's Retreat, on our first visit to Norfolk, where every expectation was realised or exceeded. Ideal location for relaxing break with easy car access to nearby Park and Ride service to Norwich City centre.

We found Wroxham, Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden and Sandringham, all to be excellent places to visit and within easy driving distance from Kingfisher's Retreat.

Very helpful and welcoming owners.

Would definitely recommend the property and location.

Perfect for Relaxing

Review Submitted: July 21, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Kay & Bernard visited May 2009.
Second time for us and look forward to many more Visits.
Just like coming home again the description doesn't do
justice to the Property.
Although the Weather wasn't too good it didn't matter
after a day out it was nice to return and relax.

Apple blossom time!

family historian bradford west yorkshire
Review Submitted: May 1, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
I Arrived at just the right time of year, the apple blossom was at it's best (overwhelming) in the lovely garden. The bungalow is spacious, comfortable and with all facilities. Very well equipped kitchen and large shower in bathroom - like home from home. The owners Anna and Robert were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Location handy for my family history research to Norwich and local villages but also for a trip to the seaside. Additionally several supermarkets in easy reach. A really peaceful rural setting - I have returned home very refreshed. I would definitely recommend this bungalow. Thanks!!!

What a find!!!

Review Submitted: January 19, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
We have just returned from UK and Europe after a 3 month excursion. We stayed in 8 different cottages, and found Kingfisher's Retreat to be absolutely wonderful and top notch. The cottage is large, extremely clean, comfortable and everything required was supplied. The bed was so comfortable, lovely linen. We found the owners, Robert and Anna to be very informative, helpful and friendly, and enjoyed our time at Kingfisher's Retreat. Visited the local pub for a drink and enjoyed it. It was very convenient for visiting Norwich and surrounding areas. We would definitely recommend Kingfisher's Retreat to our friends.

New Year Break

Benfleet Essex
Review Submitted: January 5, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
My wife and I booked Kingfisher's Retreat for a new year break, what a superb find, the bungalow was spacious and spotlessly clean, location perfect with a beautiful garden to the rear leading down to the river. The owner, Robert, was very helpful and informative about the local area of which there is a lot to see. A bonus was the local pub, two minutes walk away, which served us possibly the best meal that we have ever had, don't miss it! We will definitely be back in the Spring or Autumn for another relaxing break (and another meal in the pub!)

Review Submitted: November 14, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
My wife and I stayed here for a week in September, using it as a base for house hunting in the area. The owner was very helpful, showing how everything worked etc.It is situated in a quiet village with a nice pub and has very easy access to main roads for exploring the area. The gardens outside the bungalow are a special feature as they teem with a fantastic variety of birds. We could not find a suitable property ourselves, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.David and Gill.

kingfisher Retreat

Terrier Yorkshire
Review Submitted: August 12, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
Spacious and comfortable accommodation for 2 people, great to have use of the large garden.
We used it as a base for a sight-seeing / cycling holiday for which it was ideal. Helpfull owners are on site and able to provide local information on things to see and do.
Would be fine for couple with young child as long as quick access to the coast isn't a priority - it's not that far but the roads in this part of the country make travel times quite long.
Not for anyone looking for lively nightlife!

Plenty of Room!

Ann and Tony Rochedale South, Queensland, AUSTRALIA
Review Submitted: August 3, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
Kingfisher's Retreat is a self-catering holiday cottage. It is conveniently situated, with easy access by car to all parts of Norfolk via the A47. There is private, off-road parking outside the door. The village pub, with good food, is nearby. There is interesting walking, on paths and in open country, close at hand.
We found the property in excellent condition, clean and well maintained. The rooms are large. The kitchen is well-equipped; it is a pleasant place in which to work and have meals and has a view of the owners garden, which slopes down to the River Tud. The lounge is long and wide, with comfortable chairs and a settee, TV, video and sound systems, plenty of reading material and sliding glass doors giving access to a patio and the owner's garden. The bathroom has lots of room and is supplied with all requirements. The bedroom is spacious, with windows to catch the afternoon sun and plenty of storage.
We have stayed in many self-catering cottages in different parts of the UK over the years and were delighted to find one big enough to walk up and down in and with a large private courtyard in which to park the car. Other bonuses were the garden, which we were encouraged to explore and sit out in, the birds, which came to a feeder outside the lounge and provided great entertainment and interest, the friendly, courteous and unobtrusive hospitality of our host and the delicious fresh-picked, organically grown gooseberries and rhubarb which he supplied us with and which kept us in desserts for long after we had moved on.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kingfisher's Retreat and look forward to a return visit.

It is handy, capacious and neat,
For comfort and price, hard to beat,
A true home-from-home
Where you're welcome to roam
In the garden; Kingfisher's Retreat!

An Ideal Holiday Retreat.

Review Submitted: July 26, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We have just completed a very relaxing week at Kingfisher's Retreat and would recommend this property to all those looking for a very comfortable cottage within easy reach of Norwich, The Norfolk Broads and a variety of seaside towns.
The property itself is very well equipped and provides everything you might need for a self catering holiday. The garden is a delight with an abundance of bird life.
We found the owner very helpful. He was able to provide us with much interesting information on the local area which helped make our all too short a stay a success.
We holiday regularly in Europe and use a variety of cottages to stay in, both in the UK and on the continent.Kingfisher's Retreat would be top of our list.

Review Submitted: June 29, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
Everything about this property was just excellent. It was a truly relaxing holiday in perfect surroundings. I am unable to find any fault with the property or the service, the owner was was helpful, polite and available if was ever needed. The property was just as described, it was very spacious and had everything you could need. I would certainly recommend this property to my friends and family and will definately stay there again myself, hopefully in the near future.
