Seven beautiful days

We chose the Sun Villa because of its central location for touring Puglia, and the five minute walk to the Adriatic. Every day we drove to a different city or area and it worked out very well. The house was perfectly maintained, clean, charming and comfortable. The gardens were lovely and we enjoyed eating meals in the beautiful garden. Debbie and Bob were always there when we needed them. It was very quiet off season, we went the third week of May, and it is a very pastoral setting. We went running and walking and exploring nature. It is not that convenient at night if we were tired from driving in the day and didn't feel like taking another drive at night. However, the roads are good and it is definitely possible to drive to Lecce for dinner. I don't know what the amenities are like in the area on season, but it is very quiet in May, so I would consider that if you want to come off season. During the week we visited Otranto, Ostuni, Gallopoli, Lecce and took a long drive all way to the tip of the heal of the boot. We stopped at Caesare Termini and went into the bathhouse for a treatment, then drove south to S. Lucia at the very tip. The scenery was spectacular.
One week was not enough to see everything and Puglia is a beautiful and interesting area.
The house is wonderful, excellent for families and as a base for sightseeing. The beach was ok, we walked along it, very scenic , but I don't know what it is like in the summer.
We drove through Casalabate on a Sunday, and the market was there, and we bought a lot of produce, cheese and salami. They had everything. I recommend it, for fresh produce and a colorful atmosphere. .
