Lovely Easter break

The description of the flat was a very accurate account of what we found - a comfortable and gracious appartment in a beautiful house. The flat was in perfect condition when we arrived and we found it to be excellently equipped with what was needed for cooking and eating, as well as with books, games, etc. I really enjoyed getting back into scrabble! The views from all the windows are fabulous - accross the town and bay, up to the mountains, and over the pool. It was a bit early for swimming but my sister managed to do two widths! We had hoped for a trip in the submersible boat but the weather was not quite right for it to go out. We had an excellent private mini-bus tour of Gassin and a couple of vineyards - where I discovered that I did, after all, like rose wine. We left the leaflet in the flat. And we visited the beautiful gardens at Reyal Canadel, as well as some other interesting and/or pretty villages - Grimaud, Cogolin, Bormes des Mimosa. We enjoed eating out a few times - La Bahir and the Pizzaiola - but also liked buying lovely food (Au Bec something or other that Jane mentioned) and eating it in the so-well equipped flat. Occasionally the driving was a bit fraught - a highly recommended (in guide book) scenic route from Mole to Canadel but also highly twisty and narrow! And very narrow lanes in a long stretch of roadworks from the motorway to Ste Maxime. My sister and I were delighted to find that our French was readily understood by local people - compared with the more disparaging approach by natives of more metropolitan France! I would certainly recommend Castel Haussmnn to others and I would like to finish by thanking Jane very much indeed for all her helpfulness.
