Les Dix Femmes Australian, La tour de France !!!

Aussie's on Tour Australia
Review Submitted: November 22, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
What can we say? A thousand thank you's for a wonderful week in Le Peyrat. The house was very comfortable, we couldn't fault it, although some hooks in the bathroom would be useful!
The local pub is a gem not to be missed. Valarie is so obliging and her man, is a sensational stand-in chef. Hotel du Commerce in Villefranche serves delightful food. The local fig and apple trees made our breakfast feast so tasty and you must feed the horse and the donkey on the way to the pub. The local boulangerie pain is sensational. Robin at the local vineyard was delightful. The monolithic cathedral at Auberterre is worth the drive. We loved the markets at Montpon, excellant fresh produce and very cheap.
We all had a great time, and would highly recommend Le Peyrat for a holiday.

Exactly what we needed ..........

Review Submitted: October 26, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
As just a couple we were looking for space, privacy, quiet and a good standard of facilities. In October if the weather was good then that would be a bonus.
VOILA !!! All our boxes well and truly ticked from Le Peyrat along with a very warm welcome from Tracy and Brian who were most freindly and helpfull when needed but totaly unobtrusive. The weather was also kind to us as we were inthe pool most afternoons.
The facilities were all as described in the details provided with absolutly no disapointments.
Unfortunatly we cannot recommend places to visit nor places to eat as we were happy to stay put ( save for the nessassery supermarket visits) this in itself speaks volumes for the tranquility.
We would highly reccomend Le Peyrat and this area for anyone looking for the same requirements however the property is well designed to cater for full family fun.
This will not be our first and last visit more like the first of many.
Once again thank you Tracy and Brian and we wish you your well deserved continued success for the future.

Want a relaxing holiday?

Review Submitted: September 14, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
I wouls highly reccommend this property and area to anyone looking for a quiet rural retreat for their holiday. The property is spacious and clean and has everything to cater for your needs for a holiday. Tracy and Brian are always available if you need any help or advice and nothing is too much trouble for them.
The setting has everything you need a garden and a clean and maintained swimming pool which we were in every day!!
A car is essential for your stay here as the shops and restaurants are a distance away.

We stayed at this beautiful farmhouse this summer and it made for a fantastic holiday. The house was fantastic and had absolutely everything that we needed. The level of decor was outstanding with lovely little touches everywhere.
The pool was fantastic and my daughter was out armbands after two days and considering she has had lessons for 1 year that was a minor miracle.
We loved the gardens they were beautiful and the children loved scamping about all day and playing cricket there was just so much space.
We loved Tracy ,Brian and Samuel they are the nicest people so helpful and welcoming and even arranged a trip to a vineyard which all of us enjoyed. There are even fruit trees in the gardens that you can pick your own fruit from daily.
The accomodation was very comfortable ,clean and of the highest standard and we couldnt find a fault with anything it really was that good!
I woyuld recommend this place to anyone we had one of our best holidays here total relaxation and felt refreshed after our week here. If you get to have a holiday here you wont regret it it really is such a lovely place so much to do for everyone or if like me sit beside the pool with a good book it is ideal too.
We would love return and have a glass of wine at the local bar and see the photos that they took of us after a great night there, we felt welcomed by the locals and felt a part of their community if only for one week.
We missed this place after we left but we will return!!!

Wonderfully relaxing holiday

Review Submitted: August 24, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We had a wonderful stay at Le Payrat. The photographs are a very accurate representation of the house and the gardens and all the facilities listed are provided and are in excellent condition.
Tracy and Brian were great and very helpful - particularly when family circumstances meant we had to arrive a couple of days later than planned. They have lots of information about the area and many local contacts and can arrange all sorts of things if you want them to - or leave you completely in peace if that is your choice.
The pool was a wonderful way to relax and gets the sun throughout the day - but that does make it harder to go out especially in the evening! Lac du Gurson is a great place to go as a very near alternative - but take care it can get very hot on an August afternoon!
We used the chef twice and had two excellent meals - he was very happy to come and discuss what we wanted and cook to order for our second meal. We would heartily recommend Le Peche Mignon as a place to eat - about 5 miles way in a small village. Their 5 course €25 menu and wine list was superb and service by the owners was excellent.
If you are going marketing get there early. St Foye's market on a Saturday is very large and the produce - fruit, vegetables and fish - is excellent.
We had an excellent time and would heartily recommend to anyone.

Best Holiday ever

Review Submitted: August 14, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We spent a brilliant week at Le Payrat. The house, pool and garden were just as good, if not better than the photos on the website show. The owners were extremely helpful, offering advice and information when we needed it, and discreetly making sure that the pool and gardens were kept it tiptop condition during our stay. The accommodation was very comfortable, and clean, nice beds, well equiped kitchen etc., all done to a very high standard. We took the recommendation from another reviewer and booked the Chef for the evening we arrived. We chose a buffet menu, & it was nice not to have to cook, or worry about preparing a meal when we arrived. The area of St Martin de Gurcon is very pretty and it was nice to be able to take a stroll into the village to buy bread or have a drink in the local bar & the local supermarket was only 5-10 mins drive away in Montpon. The property is ideally placed for sight seeing, Bergerac and St Emillion (our favourites) are within easy travelling distance of the property by car. We had such a relaxing holiday, we didn't want to leave at the end of our weeks stay!

Extended Family Holiday in France

kiwistolwerk Waipu, New Zealand
Review Submitted: July 29, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Coming from New Zealand and meeting relatives living in England, we wanted a place that could comfortably fit 4 children (including a baby) and 7 adults for three weeks- which Le Peyrat definitely did.

We also wanted a place that we could do as little or as much as each person wanted. There was plenty of room outside with the children’s playground, room to kick a ball, play boules etc and offcourse the pool area. There are generous living areas and indoor and outdoor eating areas. There was plenty of places where we could all be together or find a quiet spot if you wanted.

There are plenty of attractions we would recommend only short drives away, like the markets- one every day in neighbouring villages, St Emilion, Sarlat, Brantome, Bourdeilles, the cute towns and prehistoric caves on the Dordogne, Domme etc

Our last requirement was being able to walk to the local village for a cup of coffee. We became very fond of the little village of St Martin de Gurson. It is only a five minute walk up the road, safe for pushchairs and there is a donkey or two to pat on the way.
There is a boulangerie, general store and pub in the village. We had many a coffee/drink and ice cream at the friendly pub. We also dined at the pub a few times which was very reasonable.

We had some nice walks to and from the lac. We didn't swim in the lac, but see that people do. We were interested to see the remains of the castle, the priory, the druid site and the roman road.

Tracy has a basketful of brochures and information. Tracy and Brian were very welcoming, inviting us to the local village boules competition and to the town swimming pool with slide with their son Samuel- who is gorgeous! They weren’t obtrusive but available if we had any queries.
We could have easily stayed longer.

Time Out for Aussie Travellers

Thanks T and B for an absolutely perfect week at your gorgeous farmhouse. The house and gardens were beautiful and it was handing having you nearby to help with emergency translation.

The property is perfect for visiting the area or indeed just sitting and relaxing.

The kids particularly loved the pool and after swimming every day my five year old daughter now wants to be a mermaid when she grows up!

We adults just loved the chilling time that you property allowed us to take out of our family catch up tour of the UK.

Our week long stay in the property was one of the highlights of our 5 week trip and I hope that one day we can come back.

Bloody Brilliant

Pommy Australia
Review Submitted: July 27, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We had the priveledge of being the first Aussies to use the Farmhouse and I have to tell you we loved it! Tracey and Brian are brilliant at being invisible when not needed but absolutely fantastic and helpful when needed. The house is devine and fit our 4 Adults and 4 Children beautifully.

There are lakes nearby if you need something other than the pool! The availability of shops for stocking up on food etc is only a 10 min drive away. The country side and places to visit are beautiful and fascinating.

The photos acurately depict the house and it's surrounds, the house itself is in immaculate condition when you arrive, you can hire a cleaner and a cook daily if you so desire or you can have the house completely to yourself the whole time. The garden is fully fenced so children cannot escape! But if you want to go for a short walk you can see a river and ducks and chickens at Tracey and Brians. The pool is fully fenced and child compliant as well. If you're going in a cooler period have the pool heated - wonderful to swim in. There are plenty of toys for the children, but you will need to take beach towels for the pool. A washing machine is also included in the house.

I would definitely recommend hiring the cook for your first night there as you don't have to think about cooking after all of your travel and his dinner is devine!

I would absolutely recommend this to a friend and hope that we can stay there again if we ever make the 25 hour trip back to Europe!

Thanks from the Aussies!
