HAD A GREAT STAY IN LIMBUS

Rob1 Sydney Australia
Review Submitted: July 19, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
My wife and I had a great stay at end of May 2009. The apartment is very comfortable and well appointed. The supermarket and other shops are not far away, as is a nice bar. With a car we were able to visit a lot of the area around Maribor. It was a great place to stay! Communication from the owner was also great.
Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback Rob. Nice to know you had a good time and we hear that you worked hard at sampling the local wines - rude not to! We pride ourselves on our prompt communication and quick on line return of security deposits which is vital. All the best Geraint

Idyllic!

Review Submitted: April 9, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
My boyfriend and I have just returned from a wonderful 5 day stay in Geraint's appartment! I had high expectations as my boyfriend has stayed there before but my expectations were exceeded. The appartment is very comfortable, well equipped and with everything you could wish for. It certainly deserves the 4 star rating. The location of the appartment is superb - moments away from fantastic walks, vineyards, local supermarkets, restaurants and a couple of bars. The ski resort at Radvanje is well worth a visit even in the Spring/Summer. The cable cars still runs and cyling down from the mountain where there was still 4 ft of snow was great! (Geraint makes 3 good quality mountain bikes available for the guests). Cycling along the River Dravi is very easy and a pleasant way to travel to Maribor. A taxi for a night out in the city costs EUR10 each way but is well worth it. I had the best holiday in a very long time and I am looking forward to going back! Karen, West Berkshire
Owner's Response: Karen,
What can I say, I think you kindly said it all and I am really pleased that it exceeded your expectations.
In case any business people are looking for a hotel alternative there is also free internet access and an office style working area. Hope you come back soon. Geraint

Skiing in Slovenia

LucyJack London
Review Submitted: July 27, 2008 Date of Stay: February 2008
I took my family to Slovenia for our first skiing trip together in February of this year, we stayed at Geraint's 2 bedroom apartment which comfortably looked after our needs after a hard days skiing. The apartment was extremely well maintained, clean throughout with excellent local restaurants which all had a good choice of menu for both adults and young children. The apartment had good tourist information which helped with our sightseeing activities so all in all a very successful first trip. I would have no hesitation in recommending the apartment to family or friends as they will not be disaapointed. Our second trip to the apartment is already booked for early next year.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. The local restaurants being only about half the price an Uk equivalent makes eating in hardly worthwhile. We look forward to welcoming you back in the coming ski season Geraint

WE SIMPLY HAD TO RETURN !

Review Submitted: June 29, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
In Sept.2007 we spent 3 weeks in Geraint's apartment in Limbus, near Maribor - such was our satisfaction we returned for a further 3 weeks in April/May 2008. There were undoubted highlights during our first visit - (a) we joined the locals on a days' grape picking in nearby Meranovo - our payment ? - we were provided with an excellent breakfast on the farm followed some 5 hours later by a sumptuous dinner washed down with a never ending supply of their own wine. (b) we spent a morning on an organized rafting trip on the river Drava with a hot meal as part of the "package".
During both our visits we did not hire a car as we could get around so easily and cheaply via the REGULAR local bus service into Maribor bus/train stations - from there the world is your oyster. A return 2 hour train journey to the capital Ljubljana - thro' beautiful countryside - is a must as is a visit to Ptuj. Those who are hooked on shopping, put Maribor's Europark on your list! From a first floor viewing area, be sure to take in "Maribor across the river Drava".
We could continue singing the praises of this beautiful, safe and friendly country. Its May Day celebrations - in practically every village - are worth being part of. The Oasa party - just 50 metres from the apartment was hilarious with so much to eat and drink.
THE ICING ON THE CAKE ? As ours was an extended stay on both occasions we were able to negotiate very favourable letting terms - THANK YOU GERAINT.
ELLIS and CATHERINE.
Owner's Response: Always very happy to see repeat customers which tells us we must be doing something right! Hope to see you again very soon Geraint

A holiday to remember

Review Submitted: March 25, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2007
I was extreamly impressed with the quality of the apartment for the price, myself and a couple of friends found we had a comfortable and enjoyable time with an on-call taxi service and friendly people. Thanks for a great time.
Owner's Response: Very glad you found the apartment comfortable and good value for money. Introducing Tequila to a few people locally went down well by all accounts. Hope to see you soon back in Slovenia Regards Geraint

Lasting memorys

happy bunnies Yorkshire U.K.
Review Submitted: March 24, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2007
We stayed in the 2 bed roomed apartment in June 07. It was everything the broucher said bright modern and user friendly. We spent 2 very pleasant weeks there; if a slow life revolving around a wine growing area is for you, this is the place to stay. Surprised at how hot it was.

Limbus is a 10 min. walk down a slight incline, passing lovely houses with flower filled gardens and pots. As with all villages the pub is the hub of the community, from coffee time to sun downers there is a friendly welcome. Good prices too.

There is a small supermarket, butchers, cafes, restaurants, wine cellar and private houses selling eggs and home grown vegetables. A neighbour, Frank took Roy mushroom picking at some unearthly hour of the morning, but it made a lovely risotto.

A clean, cheap, regular bus service will take you into Maribor. From the coach station there, most towns are accessible. We didn’t have a car so quickly learned how to get around.

Must see places.
The ski resort of Pohorje. Great for walking, cycling, eating and people watching. Weekends are best, for this is when everyone heads there to participate in all sorts of activities.
Maribor. The wine cellar, but book your visit on line in advance. Shopping, eating walking.etc.
Ptuje. What a surprise that was, beautiful and quaint. A fab.castle, meandering narrow streets and river walks. We even played golf there.

Jelka will meet you on arrival .She, you will find out very quickly is a lovely lady and Geraint’s girl Friday. A fountain of local knowledge, partially on vine yards and wines. I think she may have sampled them all. Poor girl has suffered for her art.

The stars of Slovenia are its people and will be the lasting memory we take with us.
Owner's Response: You both were talk of the local tourist association for some time after your stay as you went out of your way to mix with local people. The wine trip to Bela Krajina was obviously a trip not to be missed - didn't realise you spoke such good Slovene or maybe it was the wine! We all look forward to your next trip. Regards Geraint
