Review Submitted: July 27, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
The villla was stunning! A wonderful pool and gardens and lots of space within the villas for 2 families. The booking process was easy and the information provided by both Mary at the booking stage and in the villa was invaluable. Mel and Charlie were on hand if we ever needed them - and we did! One of our party went swimming in the sea with car keys in his shorts and the keys were never to be seen again. Thankfully, a quick call to Mel and Charlie and they organised a replacement set through the car hire company. We visited Kyrenia Animal Rescue Centre which if you are an animal lover is well worth a visit. It is ran by English people and they encourage you to take the dogs out for a walk in the mountains - the dogs loved it and the views were stunning. Our children also thought it was wonderful - so much so they did it 3 times!
The villa is within walking distance of the harbour which is very picturesque but there are also plenty more restaurants nearby. We were collected from the airport, organised by the villa owner, and then our hire car was delivered the next day - a service I thoroughly recommend.
Owner's Response: Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Thank you for the marvelous review, I'm delighted that you were happy with the villa and all went well, inspite of the car keys disappearing into the warm Mediterranean!
Best wishes,
Mary.

we stayed in this property at the end of the season so the cost was ok.
the villa is in an ideal place if you dont want to rent a car. its a good 10-15 minute walk to the harbour through the atmospheric streest of the turkish quarter.
the area is peacfull with the small mosqe at the end of the street. i found it very theraputic when it was calling to prayer.
the garden was loverly with orange, pomegranite, lemon and manderin trees that we were welcome to pick.
the pool was cold but nice.the whole patio area was spaciouse and clean all set within a pretty walled garden.
the villa is huge with patio doors leading off the ground floor rooms very handy
the kitchen is good with a large table. the only thing that is missing is a washing machine.when booking the owner said i could use the washing machine outside but the cleaning lady told me i couldnt so if you need one its bad news.the upstairs was roomy with an enormouse landing area and a large balcony from the master bedroom.
the only other thing that niggled us was the lack of lightbulbs in the light fittings. it gets dark early in november so the kitchen was too dark .
a large group would enjoy this house as it has loads of space with 2 living rooms.

the furniture throughout is of good quality and very well chosen. it would benefit from a couple of red turkish rugs in the living rooms though to make it more homely.
all in all its a good house but too big for us.
Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am delighted that you were pleased with the location of the villa, our beautiful garden and the overall presentation of the villa. The pool is rather refreshing at this time of year-good for the circulation, I'm told! Our villa is big, there is no denying this. We do not advertise that we have a washing machine for our guests to use, most of our guests use the launderette nearby that washes, dries and irons for a very reasonable rate. Our property managers Mel and Charlie do a fantastic job looking after our holiday home and are more than happy to address any problems guests may have. We are very fortunate to have such a spacious villa with fantastic gardens and pool tucked away in the Turkish Quarter of Kyrenia.
Best wishes,
Mary.

Spring in Kyrenia

Bill10 Norfolk
Review Submitted: July 22, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We had a wonderful Spring break in this delightful villa. The gardens were immaculate, full of fragrance and colour. The pool with its crystal clear water was refreshing! Clean, beautifully furnished, the villa is a marvellous find. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. We were met by Mel and Charlie, the managers, who showed us around the villa. We found them very helpful and a pleasure to meet. The information pack at the villa was full of details of activities, places to visit and restaurants. Transfers and car hire were kindly arranged by the owner. We recommended this villa highly and look forward to a return trip next Spring.
Owner's Response: What a fantastic review, thank you. Mel and Charlie really do make sure our guests are happy and comfortable. We look forward to our holidays at the villa and do our best to make sure that our guests have everthing they need to have an enjoyable stay. Spring is a magical time in Cyprus, we look forward to welcoming you next year.
Best wishes,
Mary.

Perfect Villa in Kyrenia

Bellapais wedding Maldon, Essex England
Review Submitted: July 11, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
The owner genuinely wants you to enjoy your stay. We found her extremely helpful with information prior to the holiday also booking transfers and car hire. Mel and Charlie who look after the villa are a lovely couple. They were welcoming and accommodating, providing local information etc. The villa was everything I imagined and more. Being set in the Turkish residential area we experienced some of the real culture of North Cyprus, meeting local people, using local shops and generally seeing lifesyles there. Loved the minaret at the end of the road. Theres a lovely restaurant open in the summer months at No.14. At the same time we were in a short walking distance to all the amenities you could possibility wish for as a holiday maker. The town and harbour is filled with numerous interesting restaurants, bars and shops. The Turkish Cypriot people make you feel very welcome. The car hire is worth having to also explore other parts of North Cyprus.
We found the villa to be very clean and well equipped with everything we needed including having barbecues. The villa has high ceilings and spacious rooms (wonderful kitchen) accompanied with a lovely garden and pool. I have not been swimming for many years but could not resist that pool! Everyone enjoyed and made great use of the pool every day. The garden is made very private with the attractive wall surrounding the whole area.
My partner and I were married on 19th June, at nearby Bellapais during this holiday, so we chose the villa for us to stay with our 3 daughters (ages 30ish) and their partners. They were all impressed with the villa and its location. We spent our wedding night at Bellapais Gardens Hotel which was lovely but one night was sufficient. We loved coming back to the villa where you have your own spacious accommodation, own garden and own pool! We plan to return, hopefully next year and bring some friends to enjoy the villa. We can highly recommend.
Owner's Response: Thank you for such a wonderful review. I am so pleased that enjoyed your stay at the villa. You have highlighted all of the reasons why we love Kyrenia so much. You could not have picked a more beautiful spot for your recent marriage. Congratulations to you both! Mel, Charlie and I look forward to welcoming you again, sometime soon.
Best wishes,
Mary.

ideal villa

Review Submitted: June 8, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
We stayed in this lovely villa for 2 weeks in March. The villa, gardens and swimming pool were immaculate. The position of the villa in the Old Turkish quarter of Kyrenia was extremely handy for all the local food shops, bakery, butcher etc. We would nornally hire a car but found it was not necessary on this occasion as the villa is only15 mins walk to the harbour and town. We used the local buses which were cheap for trips into Famagusta, Nicosia etc. Would deffinately stay in this villa again.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your wonderful review. I am delighted that you were happy with the facilities and location of the villa. We are ideally placed for a car free break!
Best wishes,
Mary.

Lovely lovely villa

Review Submitted: June 3, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
This is a gorgeous spacious villa. It was immaculate when we arrived and has the advantage of the managers Mel and Charlie who live next door. It is full of loads of helpful bits and pieces. Sandwich boxes, cool bag etc etc.It is thoughtfully and carefully prepared. The rooms are massive! There is also enough sunbeds and outdoor table space to seat 8. There are lemon trees in the garden and we picked lemons each day for drinks. The owner and managers of this property are fantastic. The communication and help is excellent.they arranged our transfers and car hire and answered lots of questions for me about the area. You do need a car but thats easy because they drive on the same side as us! the only tiny negative point is the parking. You have to park the car away from the villa most of the time. This was ok and never a problem but just a pain if you have to carry a load of stuff. We found the harbour area lovely and about a 10 minute walk from the villa.the locals are very friendly. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would definately return to this villa. We found it reasonably priced with super facilities (there`s even a torch in each bedroom in case of a power cut) We were a family group and this villa has something for everyone.
Owner's Response: Many thanks for your fantastic review, I am delighted that you had a great holiday. Mel and Charlie are brillant! Possibly the only drawback of staying in the town centre and being so close to the harbour is parking. Most of our guests don't mind parking around the corner if they cannot park outside our gate and as the villa is on such a quiet road, stopping to unload is never a problem. May is a super month to visit, fabulous weather! Please visit us again soon.
Best wishes,
Mary.

The villa, garden and pool are beautiful and we spent many happy hours there.
Mel and Charlie were very helpful indeed and looked after us very well - even sharing a few Brandy Sours!!
We found some lovely local restaurants and we have left our comments and directions in the villa information pack.
Thank you again for everything.
Kind regards

Villa in Keyrenia Town

0039 Leicestershire
Review Submitted: October 30, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
This charming walled villa is set right in the heart of the Turkish Quarter in Keyrenia town. It is situated in a very quiet area with no traffic noise and virtually no noise from surrounding properties. The minaret calling the locals to prayer five times a day is situated very close to the villa however we did not find this to be intrusive at all, the sound added to the "turkish atmosphere". The beautiful harbour with restaurants and bars is a 10 minute walk from the house along quiet residential streets.
The house is well equipped and comfortable. It has a large kitchen which is a pleasure to cook in and a large patio area just outside for meals to be taken on the large stone table. The two sitting rooms are very comfortable with large leather sofa's and chairs.
The most charming aspect to this property is the pretty walled garden which is sizeable considering it's location It also contains a large swimming pool. The pool terrace is surrounded by satsuma orange and lemon trees.
Keyrenia is a town full of cats! We are cat lovers and were very happy that the villa was sometimes visited by the neighbouring cats and kittens who come to see who the new resident is. They are charming and soon know when to push off if you're not that keen on them.

I would throughly recommend this villa if you are looking for somewhere peaceful that remains in walking distance of the wonderful Kyrenia town.
Owner's Response: Many thanks for your wonderful review. I am extremely pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the villa and the delights of Kyrenia.
Mel, Charlie and I look forward to welcoming you back next year.
With best wishes,
Mary.

beautiful walled villa and gardens (very private)

chuffed Essex England
Review Submitted: September 22, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We had one week at this beautiful villa (two couples). The garden was full of plants lime and lemon tress, well maintained and watered, with a very clean pool and paved patio area. The villa was spacious, very clean and well maintained and also well equipped with very tasteful furnishings and lovely white towels and bed linen. The owner was very friendly, informative and helpful. The location of the villa was ideal, approx. 5 mins to town and less for local supermarket etc. I would definately recommend this villa, in fact my son and his wife will be there in October.
Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. I am thrilled that you enjoyed your stay at the villa. Your comments will be passed onto Mel and Charlie who do such a fantastic job looking after our guests, villa and wonderful garden. We look forward to welcoming your son and his wife next month and hope that you will visit us again soon.
Best wishes,
Mary.
