little gem

I have stayed in the cottage twice with my parents (from France) and daughter. It is a lovely little cottage - tiny but incredibly well organised (it makes you consider at all that badly used space at home!)- and the area is fantastic. We never tire of it. The cottage is particularly well situated because there is a lot to do around it with or without a car: there’s the harbour below .. and its coffee shop, the beach, the lovely walk to whitepark bay, to the rope bridge, it’s handy to the shop and pubs in the village, etc.
There is a lovely track along the cliffs that loops around. The cottage is just on the way and it makes for a very nice evening stroll.
Unfortunately this year every walk was punctuated by a shower.. which gave us magnificent rainbows (to my daughter's delight) but didn't allow us to live outside as much as we had last September (when we had been able to eat outside most days -lovely view of the white church, sea, sheep island and Rathlin from the table outside on the front lawn).
So lovely place... I would highly recommend it as long as nobody books when I want to go : )

The cottage is wonderfully situated in Ballintoy, with a great local pub and a cliff walk very close by. The log stove made the cottage very cosy and we found the bed extremely comfy!!

Thanks!

Northern star

My wife and I spent three nights in the cottage. Northern Star is tiny and cosy. The quiet location suited us and our small pet. Clever use is made space and furniture. We found it clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the walks, golf and a drive along the coast and through the glens of Antrim. A complimentary bottle of wine in front of the stove added to our enjoyment. We were pleased with our meals in the Nook and Smugglers Inn. We needed good footwear and suitable clothing. We recommend it to a retired couple with a small pet.

Northern Star cottage

Northern Star cottage is one of the loveliest we have ever stayed in, due to the high standards of cleanliness and the little things such as the quality of the bed linen, and (for someone as fussy as me), the cutlery. The cottage is ideally located for touring the beautiful Antrim coast, but central enough to reach Donegal for a day trip. The owners provided excellent customer care and I have already recommended this property to 2 friends planning to visit Ireland in the future.

The Perfect Getaway

Clem & Jayne's cottage is the ideal place to holiday; it was exceptionally clean and the location is perfect for visiting all the tourist attractions (such as the Giants' Causeway) and also to take advantage of the superb walks - on beaches and cliff tops alike. The village of Ballintoy, which is within very easy walking distance of the cottage, has 2 good pubs with decent and inexpensive food. We were warmly welcomed and our 2 young dogs were also accommodated which made our holiday complete. Well worth a visit to enjoy exploring the County Antrim coast.

Excellent cottage

and exactly as described. Couldn't have wished for a more relaxing place to stay. The only downside was, our weather went downhill after 3 days and we used the car more than we would have done. We did manage the walk to Giant's Causeway which is hard work but worth the views. Although the rope bridge is nearby we didn't get there, but having done it before we knew what we had missed. The Fullerton Arms in Ballintoy is very welcoming and provides good food and local music. Clem and Jayne have done an excellent job with the cottage and we would definitely recommend to friends.

Beautiful Ballintoy Cottage

Review Submitted: April 20, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
Just a short note to say how much we enjoyed staying at Northern Star cottage last week. Apart from the excellent facilities and handy provisions, modern furnishings and lovely linen in the cottage, we also loved the location. We found that we hardly drove all week, or if we did we never went further than 10 or 15 miles. That's very unusal for us - yet we saw so much and had so much fresh air. It didn't rain much, we got to Rathlin Island and saw loads of seals, walked round to Whitepark Bay and the other way to Carrick-a-rede. We went to Bushmills and Dunluce Castle as well, and Ballymoney, the Dark Hedges and the Giant's Causeway. We liked the Fullerton Arms in the village - excellent take-aways, great value - and Ballycastle was our favourite town.
Thankyou very much for your warm welcome. We shall be recommending both your cottage and the Antrim coast as a perfect holiday destination to our friends, I have several in mind already, some older people, others with younger kids. We really had the most wonderful week. We found eating out to be fairly reasonably priced and of very good quality, so good value for money.

Hope to book again soon!

Clem and Jaynes cottage

Jericho Dorchester, Dorset
Review Submitted: March 6, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2008
This charming cottage was perfect for a very relaxing away from it all holiday. The interior was beautifully maintained with a feel of luxury to it.The gardens front and back were ideal for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful scenery. The coastal walks in the area we enjoyed so much and the wild life. There were many small quaint harbours to enjoy, particularly Ballintoy, with views over to Rathlin Island were we had a fantastic day out. We enjoyed barbeques in the lovely garden and cooking in the small but well equipped kitchen.

Jayne and Clem were very welcome and attentive. We would certainly recommend the cottage to anyone who would like to experience a lovely fisherman's cottage in the most perfect location.
