The chalet is newly available for rent, so we haven't had any guests yet, but we think it's wonderful!

Lovely chalet in spectacular setting

Review Submitted: August 18, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We spent a wonderful week at Ovronnaz. The chalet is spacious and comfortable, very well-equipped and spotless. The views from the balcony (where I could quite happily have spent the entire week!) are breath-taking. There is also a lovely little garden, ideal for children.

The village of Ovronnaz (a short drive away) is charming, with really everything you need. The Coop is very well stocked, the bakery excellent and delicatessen (run by a very friendly couple) an absolute treasure-trove!

There are numerous wonderful walks, and we recommend a visit to the Thermal Baths (we went twice!), Martigny and Sion - there really is a great deal to do in the area (if you can tear yourself away from the view...).

Ovronnaz is a beaurtiful village with pistes right above on the mountain and also Thermal Spa. The chalet was better than we expected and we were very excited when we arrived. The view is stunning anytime day or night. Very warm and everything in perfect condition. Everything was perfect I recommend it to all but it has one disadvantage for those that are not well trained or in shape - too many stairs to get to paradise!

The chalet was really wonderful: equipment and housekeeping excellent, view spectacular, owners very, very friendly, agency at Ovronnaz also helpful and friendly.
Really enough space for 8 persons and a Baby.
Veritable recommended for Summer or Winter holidays !

CHALET AT OVRONNAZ - AUGUST 2008

Review Submitted: August 14, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We stayed in the summer 2008. The chalet is very well positioned quite high up in the mountains. It is very clean and well equipped and large enough to house 7 of us with ease. The views from the balcony are spectacular. Thermalp is definitely worth a visit, the children really enjoyed it. The chair lift from Ovronnaz up the mountain was very enjoyable with clearly marked paths for you to follow. Martigny has the best art gallery we have ever visited and was not at all expensive.
I would definitely recommend this property for a summer or winter break.

Wonderful trip, wonderful chalet!

Our family (from the USA) rented the chalet from the owners over Easter break. The house is much, much nicer than the pictures show it to be (although heed their warning, there is a steep climb up to it). The views are absolutely incredible. The house is maintained well and has all you need to cook there, including a fondue pot. The owners were very easy to work with, quite welcoming and O-Vacance (the local agent) was able to help us get our lost luggage delivered from the flight. Ovrannaz is nice and central and we were able to do day trips to Lusanne, Zermatt, and Aosta, Italy. But my kids said the chalet and town were their favorite memories of the trip.

The town of Ovrannaz also has all the facilities you'd want (including a grocery), is very quaint, and is not overcrowded. We speak fractured French, but were very welcomed by the people in town. My husband and kids went skiing, using a local school and had a great time. We went to the restaurant Vieux Valais and the food was superb! We also went to the thermal spas and were able to lay back in the warm water and look at beautiful, snow-covered mountains. The last 2 days we were there it snowed heavily, so I recommend a car with snow tires or chains -- we had snow tires and really needed them.

We had a great time and are already planning when we can go back. I highly recommend the area and the chalet.
