If Carling did Villa's, this would be one of them

This villa is everything you could ever wish for. High quality furniture, open plan very clean and modern living with all amenities, multiple seperate rooms, excellent central location in a quiet area plus parking. Very easy to find from the airport (30min drive on dual carriageway), it is a well designed modern spanish villa with a superb very clean pool/private sunbathing area. After breaking my back 2 years ago, i'm a full time wheelchair user but i found it a pleasure to stay in with 5 of my (able) friends and we had a great time. Puerto Pollensa is a quiet town but has enough bars/action to keep the drinkers happy and the more mature entertained. Alcudia is only 10 miles away and also has more nightclubs, bars & restaurants. Everything you need is already in the villa. Pre/post stay service/assistance from the owner and manager was fast & excellent as was their knowledge of the local area. Heading into town was not a problem (wheeling/walking or taxi) to eat or drink at the main plaza, as its just round the corner. Prices are similar to UK. Nearest shop is within 2 min walk as is a 4* hotel useful for hailing taxi's or having a cheeky beer without the wife looking. Supermarket only 5 mins away. To be honest, you will stay at the villa, its that nice there is no need to go into town. If you did, Puerto Pollensa is much nicer than Alcudia so everything is walkable/wheelable. would definitley recommend and return to visit the villa. The square in Old Pollenca is also excellent for good quality food, drink and relaxing. Whilst it is not needed, i would hire a car as it works out cheaper for a week, depending on how many of you are travelling, instead of burning cash on taxi's. Puerto Pollensa is flat with good views, excellent weather (we had 34C for days!!) and the people friendly. For wheelchair access, the BBQ Lounge in the main square as does El Diablito pizzaria both have accessable facilities and both do good food. Miramar hotel does an excellent grilled steak (but no facilities) as does the Indian restaurant on the main square. We ate out every night and all of it was good. its impossible not to have a good time. the villa deserves an award.

Great Villa, Great Location = Great Holiday!

Jane121 Northampton, UK
Review Submitted: November 15, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Having chosen Puerto Pollensa as a base for a family holiday (six people, three generations, ages from 21 to 83) after many hours on the internet we were drawn to Footprints by the many excellent reviews, the modern contemporary styling, the accommodation being on one level and the great location near the Pine Walk – it really is only a five minute walk away.

Having made our decision, all our dealings with Richard – via email and over the phone – were first class. All communication was promptly responded to and he gave us some useful hints and tips about the area – including points of local interest and eating out options.

Lengthy delays at the airport meant we didn’t arrive at Footprints until 11.00pm. Richard’s excellent directions and the sat nav co-ordinates we got from Google Earth ensured a trouble free drive – even in the dark. We were really grateful to find some much appreciated provisions. Even at this late hour, we were delighted with the accommodation and spent a good hour exploring and working out how all the exterior lights, remote control air con and other gizmos worked. We found the layout naturally worked for the two family groups – each could in effect occupy a “wing” at each end of the villa.

Some reviewers felt the pool was small. We found it ideal for our purposes of cooling down after a long day sight seeing – with the bonus that the terrace area is larger for alfresco breakfasts and late evening drinks. The pool area is a suntrap, but there is a shady terrace on the other side of the villa – so you get the best of both worlds.

Footprints is only five minutes stroll to the Pine Walk – at the eastern edge past the Illa Dor hotel. This hotel is the first place you come across for drinks and snacks and makes for an enjoyable place to sit in the shade, enjoy a lazy lunch and people watch.

Overall, we found Footprints lived up to all its expectations. Each room had individual remote control air con units, the furnishings were of excellent quality and the external areas were delightful. Richard’s representative in Mallorca – Magdalena – looks after the place and will call on you a day or so after you have settled in. We found that the steam iron was not working. Magdalena returned with a new iron later that same day. A great villa on arguably the best part of the island. We found a car to be essential - there is so much Mallorca has to offer. If you decide to stay at Footprints you will not be dissapointed

Villa & Location Perfect - Footprints is FAB!!!

Review Submitted: October 1, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We stayed for one week in Footprints (Sept 2009) 4 adults and two 3 year old children. This villa offers something for everyone, luxurious accomodation, fantastic location (less than 5 mins walk to the gorgeous beach), excellent layout - both families had their own 'quarters' as there are two bedrooms and a bathroom at both ends of the villa so privacy is easily found.
Both Richard the owner and Magdelana the lovely housekeeper were on hand if we needed anything and this was felt through the booking process as well as during our time at Footprints. I could not fault the customer service - Fantastic.
Puerto Pollensa is a lovely resort with beautiful beaches, unlimited restaurants, dramatic scenery with the backdrop of the mountains.
Our top tips would be a day at Cap De Formentor, about 20 -30 mins drive from the villa, the sea is so clear and a joy to swim in - very special! We found a restaurant quite near the main square in Puerto Pollensa called Tribeca which had an amazing menu and beautiful food, a great night out if you want a treat.
Nights in the villa are equally special due to the outside seating area and barbeque, and if you really miss home there is a great fish n chip shop near the square called the Codfather.
The best thing I can say about Footprints is that we cant wait to go back!

Great Location - quiet and close to everything

Gingerblue Devon. UK.
Review Submitted: September 8, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We had a really good time at Footprints. The location is great - so peaceful - and within easy walking distance of the beautiful Pine Walk and all its restaurants. The pool is quite small and not one you can really swim in (for adults) but it was a blessing in the hot weather just to cool off. The Terrace is lovely and the fact that sliding doors from the villa open up onto it means that you can double the living space which we managed to fill. We had 3 teenage boys with us and they loved the roof terrace - a good place for them to get away from the adults!! There were a few problems with the aircon but they have now been fixed by all accounts. The bedrooms are an adequate size - just big enough for holiday needs. Puerto Pollensa is a beautiful area with the mountains and the sea together. The 'beach' is appeared to be really a harbour - lots of boats moored up etc - with small sandy parts. Great for young children as it is very shallow and doesn't appear to be very tidal. There are lots of sharp rocks in the water though so do wear something on your feet. Overall a lovely holiday in a beautiful location.

Owner's Response: Hi Gingerblue!
Thank you so much for your review of your holiday, and for your kind comments relating to the villa itself you included. We strive to make it a great place to relax and enjoy a stay in. I am so pleased you would it a beautiful location, found it so peaceful and especially noted that it was a benefit to be so close to the sea, Pine Walk and resturants. I'm pleased too the roof terrace worked and the teenages could hang out in private! We designed the re-build of the villa oursleves with our architect before reconstruction, and its great to see the huge sliding doors did the job of making the whole indoor and outdoor spaces work as one.

Just to re-afirm to new interested clients, I do detail the exact size of the pool 3 times on the site, being 8x3m, so would direct anyone interested to decide if they would prefer a really big pool for adults to do lenghts in, they should look to the villas out of town that have a greater level fo space. The downside being of course is being well away from the sea and the local places to walk to, so a car in that case would be totally essential.

Finally, the Pine Walk is famous for its tranquil setting, its little pieces of sand, and places to relax by the sea, so those wanting huge expanses of sand should check out the big resorts in the south. These little beaches rarely get busy, being at the quieter end of the Pine Walk. I've got lots of pics of the area, so only need to ask if you wish to know and see more. The boats mentioned are restricted in length to just private fishing boats and small sail craft, some 30m off shore, and the beaches are protected by a zoning system for safety - no boat can enter. Great for kiddies and safe swimming.

Good tip about the sea floor too - the ebb and flow of the sea is bound to move stones and shells in shore, so common sense when enjoying the sea is great advice. However, the sea life is rich, so hope you and the children enjoyed the creatures in the bay.

Lastly, I'm pleased to report the air con unit was attended to as soon after you kindly advised us - it had simply been run too low in the high temperatures and had been frozen as a consequence. All other 5 units were full operational.

Many thanks!

Our stay at Footprints villa, P.Pollensa, July '09

Mariners on tour Scunthorpe, England
Review Submitted: August 5, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Footprints villa certainly had an impressive build up prior to our visit regarding accommodation, location & resort. It has to be said that each claim was found to be fully justified.
The modern, tastefully furnished villa was a delight and, more importantly, was presented immaculately clean and ready for use (bed linen and towels were changed periodically during the stay). As our visit was in midsummer, the pool and the air conditioning unit proved to be real godsends! The villa was found to be ideally suitable for each of the three generations present. A couple of early minor issues were promptly and efficiently dealt with by the owner and/or his local representative.
The intention was to hire a car for part of the duration of the two week visit, however, there proved to be plenty of activities to satisfy all members of the party in and around the resort. Any excursions were adequately catered for by local transport (bus, boat, etc.). Peuerto Pollensa is a bustling resort which never seemed to become overcrowded (except the town square on market day). A beautiful bay with uncrowded beaches & a most scenic mountainoius backdrop certainly encourages a return trip.
Several local restaurants were used but our favourite (return visit made) turned out to be the C'an Andreu restaurant in the town square across from the church (authentic Majorcan cuisine, friendly & efficient service, family friendly and reasonably priced).
We wouldn't hesitate to return to Footprints villa nor to recommend it to our relations and friends.
A beautiful villa, pleasant resort, stunning scenery and fantastic weather served to provide us all with a holiday to remember.

Beautiful Footprints in Puerto Pollenca, Majorca

Review Submitted: July 6, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We have rececently spent 2 glorious weeks in Footprints Villa. The description of the Villa and the surrounding areas was spot on. The property was spotless and we experienced first hand on our departure, just how hard the cleaners worked to acheive this!
Richard, the owner, was alway available by phone to sort out any problems, as was Magdalena, the lady who lives just arount the corner and looks after the villa for Richard. Nothing was too much trouble.
The qualtiy of the fitments in the Villa were first class, as were the white fluffy towels and robes supplied and regularly changed.
We did not hire a car and didn't need to, as everything was withing walking distance.
There was an endless supply of restaurants and the only trouble we had was deciding which one to eat at.
The quality and standard of the food was extremely good and Puerto Pollenca itself is very clean.
We hope to return to Footprints soon. 7 adults and 3 children shared this wonderful villa. The children (and adults) enjoyed the pool and the outside seating area under the huge, quality umbrella.
The Air conditioning was an absolute luxury and was used regularly due to the gorgeous weather we experienced.
It was a perfect holiday and we were extremely comfortable in this lovely villa. There was plenty of crockery, cutlery and utensils, in fact it was equipped to a very high standard.
Everyone slept very well every night, due to the quality mattresses and bedding provided.
We would thoroughly recommend this villa and would not hesitate to return.
Thankyou for a wonderful holiday!

We had a fantastic time at this villa. It's tastefully decorated and furnished, very comfortable and the pool is great.
The lady who looks after the villa was very helpful and made sure it was spotlessly clean. And there were fluffy towelling robes too!
Best of all it was just a short stroll to the quieter end of the Pine Walk. We couldn't have asked for more.

Fantastic Footprints

Review Submitted: May 25, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Having read the details and seen the photos we knew this villa was going to be something special but we were still blown-away when we stepped inside for the first time. The place really is luxurious - so much thought has gone into the design and it's clear that no expense has been spared.
Richard, the owner, was great, answering all the questions we had before going and Magdelena who looks after the villa, and lives just down the road, couldn't have been more helpful.
There were five in our party - me, my wife and two kids (2 and 5 years) plus my mother-in-law, and the villa offered something for all of us.
The resort's great too - lovely uncrowded beaches, some great restaurants, stunning scenery and lots to discover by car nearby.
So, if your after a beach holiday with a spot of luxury, I'd say Footprints is a very safe bet - enjoy!

An Enjoyable Stay....

Mum, Dad and 3 year old. Manchester UK
Review Submitted: May 17, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay at Footprints. The villa is modern, clean, well furnished and equiped. My little daughter particulary like the lemon tree and the breakfast bar stool! Plenty of sitting area outside too. Inside is well thought out. It even has internet and broadband available but no pc so you'll need to bring your own laptop. It is nicely set away from any town nightlife likely to ruin your peace. The owner and housekeeper were both extremely helpful prior and during our time there. A good 20min walk mostly along the seafront allows just enough time to build up appetites or walk off any indulgencies enjoyed in the run of restaurants leading to the Marina. At the far side of which was Stay restaurant (by the ferry boat to Formentor beach) which served the best meal I had. However the sea front bar and restaurants that were beach fronted gave us the best options to enjoy meals whilst our young daughter played safely on the beach with other children only yards from our table. The pinewalk is pedestrianised so allows a more relaxing walk. Probably my only little complaint, as a pram pusher, was that the paving was surprisingly bumpy.
Nearest local food shop is approx 500m from villa which was very convenient though I understand the hotel nearby also has small shop. A short trip to the old town Pollenca or across the sea to Formentor are easy to visit.
We had no car and didn't mind at all but would advise you try and book airport transfer in advance.
