Charming Central Apartment

Review Submitted: June 12, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We love Florence and this charming centrally located apartment is perfect for your every need. It is spacious and has a lovely atmosphere with the high ceilings and chandeliers - the beds are extremely comfortable and the shower excellent. It is clean and well appointed and we will definitely recommend it to friends/family. The kitchen has all you need to cook a delicious dinner (bought locally or at the market) if you do not feel like going out. It is very convenient for the train and bus stations, just a few minutes walk, should you wish to go further afield to Sienna, Lucca, Venice etc. There is an excellent and friendly restaurant opposite, very good delis too and all the main sights are in easy walking distance. This was our fourth visit to Florence and we cannot wait to return and stay at this perfect oasis again. The airconditioning/heating was a big bonus, although we thoroughly enjoyed having the shutters open and soaking up the 'street sounds' of Florence. The booking and takeover/handover were easy and well organised; so all in all it made for a perfect place to stay in a beautiful city.

Highly Recommended!

This apartment is perfect for a great break in Florence. The description on the website is accurate but, perhaps, does not convey how very well laid out it is and how spacious it feels (the beautiful high beamed ceilings add to this) . It is also well equipped and comfortable and we agree with other reviewers that the towels and linens are of good quality (not always the case in rented properties).

The location is fantastic: easy walking access to all the sights and the bus/train stations. The Arno is a couple of minutes away and an evening stroll across one of the bridges to the Oltrarno district with its stylish bars and superb restaurants is a must. Having said that, the street outside your front door has everything you could wish for - two excellent restaurants, bakeries, a deli, car rental and a bustling Florentine atmosphere. One reviewer has mentioned noise; of course there will always be some street sounds in a busy city but we did not find it intrusive nor did it interrupt our sleep, in fact the street scene added to the charm and interest of staying in this home from home.

Finally, the communication and directions provided by the owner and his representative in Florence were excellent, making rental a very straighforward process. We will be recommending the apartment to any of our acquaintance visiting Florence.

Wonderful apartment in Florence!

My friend and I rented this apartment in March 2009 and it couldn't have been better, or in a more convenient location. It was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for. Short walking distance from the bus and train station, Ponte Vecchio and Central Market. The bed was very comfortable, there was a nice, new heater (we were worried about the cold before coming on the trip in such an old building, but the heater worked great on chilly nights), workable small gas cooking range, and all the plates, glasses and utensils we could need. The apartment was also VERY clean and the owner provided extra blankets and nice (large!) towels.

This apartment felt like our home away from home for the week we were there, and the owner left great recommendations for nearby restaurants and shops. We would highly recommend this apartment to friends and family, and we may go back ourselves!

Studio Apartment

Italy Lover Liverpool
Review Submitted: March 5, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
We stayed in the studio apartment from 25/02/09 to 28/02/09. The apartment is very compact especially the kitchen. The bathroom has a very good shower, hot and plenty of water pressure.
The apartment is situated on a very busy road and traffic noise was loud early in the morning and especially as the bins seem to be emptied at 4 or 5 am.
Be aware that the double bed is two singles pushed together for all those who want a ’romantic’ time.
Air conditioning/heating had just been fitted before we arrived and we were very glad of this as it did get very cold at night. Not sure the flat is 17th centuary but it did have a nice atmosphere and was a good location for all the main tourist sights.

Character and Location Plus

This apartment is fabulous. The central location and 17th century character really make you feel part of the city. Big rooms with a big comfy couch add to the homey feel of the place. Open the shutters to let in the sounds of Florence. We'd definately return. Much better than a sterile cookie cutter hotel room.

Long weekend away

Stayed here for a long weekend for the wedding of a friend. It is ideally located only a few minutes walk from the main train station. Florence is easy to get around with all the sights only a short walk away. Near the apartment you will find lots of good local shops and trattorias which are all reasonably priced. The weather during our stay was very hot for the time of year but with the shutters kept closed managed to retain a cool temperature. Had a great time and will definitely return again very soon. Would be lovely to go with that special person but also was great to be with a friend for a wedding.Would recommend this apartment definitely. Thank you.

Wonderful escape!

This apartment is centrally located and provides a welcome comfort when the feet are getting a little sore. It has a charming character and the age of the building keeps the feel and the "magic" that is Florence alive when you get back from the sites. We were very happy with the amenities it offers and would be happy to recommend it to others. Going in February meant we had Botticelli, Rapheal and Michealangelo's David all to ourselves and our decision to visit in the off-season seems to have been a good one. There is a good restaurant directly opposite and a cheap car rental place only two doors away. Driving to Venice was however a bit adventurous and we would take the day-return coach or train trip next time. There are some great delis in the area but take care of tourist prices, it is a good idea to stick to those who have marked prices. Overall an ideal spot for a culture-soaked romantic get-away.
