Our long weekend break in your house was most relaxing and enjoyable. Sitting by the pool with the back drop of bird singing hills, sipping our gin and tonic was just heaven. Your house is most welcoming, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. This is not our first trip and it will certainly not be our last..A pure treat and an absolute delight to be in such a lovely part of Spain and a wonderful house. The golf courses in the area are a must as well. We would thoroughly recommend to all. You will not be disappointed.

A Woodland paradise

Review Submitted: September 16, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Casa Estrella is the most comfortable villa we have had the pleasure of staying in. We recently had a fantastic week in the villa, with our 2 children, which was as beautiful as it was described on the website.

The garden and pool area were peaceful and spacious with an attractive woodland backdrop.
The bbq and outdoor eating areas were a delightful way of spending our evenings enjoying the tranquility with a lovely bottle of wine.

The villa has all 3 bedrooms on one floor, enabling us to keep an eye on the children. The kitchen has everything you could need with an adjacent dining area. The lounge was very comfortable with sky tv, so the children could enjoy their programmes, keeping them out of the midday sun.

There are many beautiful child friendly beaches nearby, La Fosca being our favourite due its soft sand and clear blue sea. Platja D`aro is a vibrant town which boasts a variety of restaurants, shops and bars. There is a water park and mini golf nearby to entertain everyone.

In conclusion, the villa was clean, tidy and well maintained, and can`t be faulted in any way. We would strongly recommend this villa to anyone booking a holiday on the Costa Brava, in fact we have booked it again ourselves next year!

Grahame was a delight to deal with, which made booking the villa very easy.

What a wonderful place

In the two peaceful weeks we spent here we felt relaxed and at home. We saw eagles, various other birds, lizards and butterflies from our sunloungers. At night we watched satellites and the International Space Station travel overhead. We enjoyed days out in Barcelona and Figueres as well as a lovely evening in the Old Town in Girona. The beaches are beautiful and perfectly safe for children. We echo everything else written in the reviews and cannot think of a negative comment. Do not hesitate - go!

Recommende for relaxation

Our two week holiday in Costa Brava was truly a success, much thanks to this lovely villa! Location is absolutely beautiful, next to the peaceful woodland yet only a short drive from the beaches and all the amenities. Nearby hills are perfect for a morning stroll or jog, after which you can take a refressing dip in the pool. Warm evenings enjoying bar-b-qs and red wine by the pool just complete the fantastic holiday experience.

The villa itself is very well appointed, tastefully furnished and very much a home away from home. We could not have asked for better facilities.

This one we can definetely recommend and would consider going back ourselves.

Well equiped villa in peaceful location

Having been visting the Calonge area for nearly 25 years the extremely well equiped Casa Estrella is one of the best positioned villa's we have had the pleasure of staying in. Located in a quiet cul de sac, with a very private garden to the rear overlooking the dry river bed and woods, breakfast with the birds and evening drinks watching the bats were well enjoyed. The villa itself is unusual in that the bedrooms are on the first floor, a much better layout than the normal mix of some bedrooms and living on the ground floor. This also gave a larger feel to the ground floor, with sperate kitchen area, dining area, seating area and lounge. The garden was well equiped with a superb pool just outside the 2 sets of patio doors and plently of sunlongers, nice sized patio area and stone/brick BBQ. Local facilities include Cabanyes Sports restaurant a flat 200m walk away for a very reasonably priced and good lunch Menu or evening meal. The medieval Calonge village is a short drive with 2 large supermarkets and some fantastic restaurants. The beaches are only 10 minutes away, although a short trip north to La Fosca, Calella, Llafranc or Tamariu is well worth it. For shoppers there is Platja d'Aro (particularly good nightlife), Palamos or Palafrugell to spend your euros. In all a lovely villa and local area suitable for all families whether you want to stay around the villa and pool, have a beach holiday or enjoy sightseeing, you will feel you have visited the real Spain.

What a lovely week we spent at Casa Estrella, Just as described
Ideally situated, views of a pine clad hillside free from the sound of road traffic just the twittering of birds.
Close by are some beautiful woodland walks choose a stroll to Calonge, or those who enjoy an energetic walk, down to the beach.
Amenities are just a few minutes drive away with 3 well stocked supermarkets.
Near by Platja D'Aro is a must in the evening for shopping, restaurants or strolling along the beach promenade although at the weekends can get quite busy
The coast line is a gem beautiful beaches, secluded coves and a great coastal path walk

To sum up a Fantastic villa, ideally situated, quite location everything you could imagine for a relaxing tranquil holiday.
