Perfect; quiet & children friendly

Oddly not contradictory! If you know La Torre, then you'll immediately see the benefit of this location (Hayedo 6, overlooking the 16th green). Being ground floor is extremely important for use of the pool. This apartment is possibly the best located one for this fantastic pool. If you are not on the ground floor, then you have to walk all the way around the building to get access to the pool. No good if you have small children, or a weak bladder of your own. Having used 2 other pools during our stay, happy to recommend this one over the others. For views, this is phenomenal - due to the location only a crescent of buildings, meaning you can look straight out over the lake. Sun in the morning, shaded patio/garden during the afternoon. Perfect. Down sides for some are further pluses for us - the location is about a 15 minute walk from the supermarket and other amenities (including the club house). This means that the location remains 'quiet' late in to the night. La Torre is a fantastic GOLF RESORT - I was surprised how many families thought it was a 'resort' complex rather than a golf complex. A car would be useful - not only to carry the litres of water back to the apartment, but also to get out to the coast and enjoy the atmosphere of evening beach life!! The apartment itself is exactly what I had hoped for; clean, comfortable, quiet, sensibly and well equiped etc. No UK tv channels, but there is a DVD player (take your own dvd in case of poor weather), hifi etc. The complex has wifi network for internet access which you can pay for at the club house (good coverage in the apartment). Good dishwasher/washing machine. Although the apartment has underground parking - we were not provided with the 'zapper' which was a shame as the car left out side naturally becomes an oven during the day. The very helpful and friendly key-holders provided supplies for our late night arrival, including milk/bread etc. Very very good of them. One slight moan - the shower was not perfect as the combi boiler didn't stay on and resulted in hot/cold/hot showers. It is a double edged sword providing a glowing recommendation, as it may mean my booking for next year will not be as easy - but if you're looking for excellence in a quiet location with a great pool, book this apartment. If you want immediate access to the night-time facets of the resort - look elsewhere.

Owner's Response: We are pleased to advise that the 'zapper' for the underground carpark will be available from October 2009 onwards for the use of all future guests.
The combi boiler is the same throughout all properties on the resort and we agree it does result in hot/cold/hot showers but it certainly makes us shower quicker!

Summer Holiday 2008

Reverend Lancashire
Review Submitted: November 4, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We stayed here in July/August 2008 with our children - aged 13 & 15. The apartment was exactly as described on the website, was spotlessly clean and furnished to a high standard. On arrival we were met by the apartment key holder who introduced us to the location and was on hand during our holiday if we needed her. As a family we see our holiday accomodation as a base for exploring the locality and we always hire a car. This apartment was a perfect base to explore this area and if anything we spent more time in and around the apartment than we would normally do as the location was so peaceful. We plan to return in 09 and stay longer!!

Relaxing summer holiday

Marmite Berkshire
Review Submitted: September 30, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
The apartment was lovely. Clean, tidy and spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 children. It provided everything we needed, although Spanish TV was an acquired taste! The pool area is very nice and although close to the apartment it is not at all invasive. We had lovely views across the golf course. We especially liked the apartments own compact private garden. Nice when you fancied a bit of privacy. La Torre is lovely during the day and the town centre by night was adequate but not always inspiring so we were glad that we had hired a car to go elsewhere. Having said that we found the Italian restaurant very good. Having a car was very useful when visting the supermarket. It is well stocked but it is a bit of a walk back to the apartment with heavy bags. My husband enjoyed the golf course and found other people wanting/willing to play! Overall a lovely place, but we would recommend hiring a car if you are staying for a week or more. Otherwise it is the perfect place to get away from it all.

Owner's Response: The walk to the supermarket is about 10 minutes, but yes, with heavy bags, it is probably much easier to take the car (especially in the heat)! I believe car hire can be arranged at the resort's travel shop (or at the airport).

A very relaxing stay

Suzwuz England
Review Submitted: September 1, 2008 Date of Stay: March 2008
We stayed at the apartment in March 2008 for a week with our two children aged 5 and 12 years. The description of the apartment was accurate, the location was excellent with views over the golf course and the pool being only 30 meters from the patio doors. There was a really sueful folder containing details of your stay in the apartment and of good restaurants to try and places to visit which we found really useful. Amenities within the apartment were excellent which gave it a real home from home feel. We stayed in four evenings out of our weeks stay as it was so cosy and relaxing. There was a DVD player and games for the children to play and also a small table for younger children to sit at. Our little boy enjoyed sitting at it to eat and draw. The property was immaculate and very well maintained with clean bedding and towels and the kitchen was very well equipped. The owner was very helpful as were the key holders. We visited the Italian restaurant, the Tapas restaurant and the Irish pub of which all were excellent value for money and very relaxing places to spend your time. I would definately recommend this property to a friend and would use it myself again without a doubt.

Weekend Getaway

Posipam London
Review Submitted: August 4, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
I only stayed for a weekend but the flat is beautifully furnished and I could have stayed for weeks! Having walked around the golf course a couple of times the flat is truly in one of the best locations as it looks down the fairways and gets a welcome cooling breeze. It is just the right distance for a pre-supper walk to the restaurants and perfect for an evening stroll home. The swimming pool is maybe 30 steps away! Near enough to take a sun lounger or to keep it in the garden for more privacy. The flat is air conditioned and has plenty of wardrobe space. The kitchen is very well equipped and the on site supermarket has most things you need for your stay. The whole weekend was very relaxing and even the car stayed cool in the underground parking.

A WARM RESTFUL BREAK IN PLEASANT SURROUNDINGS

Annabella St.Leonards on Sea, East Sussex
Review Submitted: July 19, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
A warm welcome awaits you at Apartment No.82611. This is a well presented clean apartment, tastefully furnished to make you feel at home. Why not sit outside in the sunny evenings next to one of many swimming pools just a few steps away, overlooking the Golf Course and mountains in the background or go for a stroll round to one of the many bars and good restaurants,( we thought the Italian was good value). There is also a very good superstore and chemist for all your holiday needs. The Golf Course is superb. If you have not played golf, why not have some lessons with the Professionals. The keyholder will meet you at the Airport which is only 15 minutes away and will help and answer any questions you may have. All in all a restful break, especially if you are retired and need a change.
Recommended for:  Age 55+
Owner's Response: The 'chemist' on the resort has undergone a re-stock and now supplies newspapers, magazines, toiletries and holiday essentials.
If you are driving, the keyholder will meet you at the resort entrance and show you around the apartment. If you are not driving and require airport transfer, the keyholder can collect you from San Javier airport for a small charge.
